      I just bought this tv, not delivered yet, but looking at the specs on different websites, i can not for the life of me find where it says that the panel is a 120 Hz native. I may be missing the info, as i am not a tech guy, but all i see in that sense is "standard refresh rate 50 Hz". Can you shed some light?

    Thank you very much Vincent, I was waiting for this video. I am searching since weeks for a decent 4K hdr tv mostly for gaming. But there are so so many different models and manufacturers, its so hard to find the right one for not too much money. But thanks to you I guess I found now the right one who fits the budget I actually want to spend for a tv and since this would replace my 22 inch discounter tv I am sure I will be very happy with the tv. I look forward to it :)

    I was in market for a new TV this year but none support 3D anymore so I didn't purchase. The fact that last years sets with 3D are going for more than this years ought to tell TV MFGRS something-there is still a market for 3D TVs. Especially at the high end. personally have over 50 3D discs and they made well over 500 so Vince please use your influence to sway TV Manufacturers to make 3D again even if on flagship models. It's a technology that some including myself won't buy a TV without at the high end. Your videos are the best BTW.

    Great review as always, Vincent!
    With respect to Sony TVs, I've noticed that in the last two weeks there have been some rather dramatic price drops at least here in Germany, and at least for the next higher tier models (XE90 and XE93.) From what I have observed, the drop is about 25% in some stores. (The XE93 55" was close to or actually even slightly more expensive than some 55" LG 2017 OLEDs, but not anymore.) I think the lower tier Sonys (XE85 and XE80 etc) and other brands might follow similar price drops at least here, making them better competing options for this Samsung. Still as you mention, they may not easily outperform it anyway, and the price of this Samsung might also go down before Xmas over time. So anyone with a budget for this TV might have a slightly hard time deciding which one to go for in the next few months I think

    I was getting ready to buy a MU7000 at €765 and spotted a QE55Q6FAMT €999. The Q6F has little to no exposure online and with what I would call amateur reviews. As gaming is my priority which would you go for?
    Thanks for great info in your reviews.

      He mentioned the EX750 which is the single tuner version of the EX780. Its a lot more expensive and no better than the MU7000. This is at 55/58" though. 49" The MU7000 uses 60hz panel.

    • @Lintahlo
      @Lintahlo 7 лет назад

      @Tim Sudall
      By the way, offhandedly mentioning a TV is not a review. I want to know about input lag, 3D, HDR, dimming, processing and much more. He DID NOT say it is "no better" apart from pricing.

    • @dodgexander
      @dodgexander 7 лет назад +2

      HiFi Senpai I can tell you already that the ex750 is on par with the tv in this review in every respect. It isn't really any different from last year's dx750. No need to worry about input lag on 2017 models and HDR on anything worse on the Sony XE90 isn't worth calling "HDR".
      If you can't afford a capable HDR model, at 55"your best bets right now are the tv in this review or the Sony xe85. The ex Panasonic range are currently very overpriced.
      Ps I didn't mention he reviewed the tv. Just trying to help.

    Hey there, I did end up buying the MU7000 on sale due to your advice. It is a pretty great TV in general. However, I have been finding that the screen occasionally seem to switch off (i.e. goes completely black) for a few seconds every now and then. Is this a common problem with Samsung TVs? Should I consider calling Samsung and/or the retailer about this? Any answer would be genuinely appreciated as I bought this TV based partly on your review. Thanks for your detailed reviews by the way!

    Is this MU7000 really a valid mid-tier choice ? Or should I choose between either a Q7F (in case I don´t care about money) or a budget MU6100 (in case I don´t WANT to spend much) ?
    I can see why someone would pay (much) more for a Q7F over a value-oriented MU6100. But the MU7000 makes me feel lost and confused. How much more should a MU7000 cost over the MU6100 to make it a reasonable choice ?

    • @tonyneculai4576
      @tonyneculai4576 6 лет назад

      I was thinking the same like u, I just bought 55MU7070 which is a small upgrade to MU 7000. The think is u need to set up a price in your mind, say 600 EUR and only look below that price. As in NL the 6100 is around 650 EUR , then u say the difference to 7000 is only 200 eur , but then the difference from 7000 to 8000 is only 200 EUR :) and so on and on with other model or other tv. In the end you'll buy a much more expensive tv than u need. If u want my totally non expert opinion. MU6100 has 50hz while MU7000 has 100Hz - I'd pay for that... I actually did , yesterday :))))

      I did, it has a slightly higher PQI (2400), so slightly better image. It matters also how much is the price difference where u live. But make sure u look for 100Hz instead of 50Hz. The 49 inch has 50Hz- that makes a big difference

    I got the UE55MU7000TXXU for £699 last week, a friend of mine has a Panasonic 58EX750B that he got for £999... Neither of us can say the Panasonic is worth the extra £300. For the same price of the Panasonic at £999 you can have:
    - Samsung UE55MU7000TXXU for £699
    - Yamaha SRT700 soundbase for £150
    - Besta TV bench from ikea for £150
    Its the best bang for buck TV out there... Of course if you want the best HDR experience its not going to compete, but it doesn't have to its less than half the price of the LG B7 and I have seen the B7 the image is not worth twice the price.

    Great review. Thank you. At the time of writing there is a chance to buy sony xe8596 for ~£150 lower price (with cashback or bundled bluray player for free) so I'm really confused which one I should buy now :) Samsung for HDR with better brightness or sony for I believe better picture performance on other fields (motion, blacks). There is also HDR+ in mu7000 but without testing it its hard to say if its worth to use it daily as some people write - its oversaturating colors or we need to compromise bright good looking scenes with black - not so much. HDR10+ is only with mu7000 but big chance sony will get upgrade to it as its open source. HDR itself is awesome feature but as Vincent mentioned even mu7000 being better than sony doesn't deliver hi level experience if compare to more expensive ones. There is also not much content yet. Seems like buying xe8596 for ~£650 and changing it after 5 years will be best solution. Best would be to go for xe90/93 but it's not wife-price acceptable :)

      no idea what you mean by blackish in the edges. ive now got the 65 inch Sony xe9305 and the picture quality is excellent. its upscaling ability and bright levels are extremely god too No complaints from me I'm very happy with it I tested some HDR sample videos using a usb stick the TV recognises that's its HDR and automatically configures the best settings for that content and the picture is jaw droopingly good.

    I narrowed my search to 3 models: MU7000, MU8000 and KS8000 (EU version labels). Other sources (mostly rtings.com ), claim that KS8000 is far better than first two and MU8000 is a little superior to MU7000. Should I consider KS8000 even though it has one year of non-usage on the shelf?
    I have the possibility to purchase either of them for comparable price with MU7000 being the cheapest. Which one should it be?

      Do you even get KS8000 now? I tried many websites and I don't find it. I am in the US.

      I'm talking EU versions. KS8000 in EU is KS9000 in US, I believe. I can find KS9000 on amazon US.

      There's a 'Best Buy' store here in Michigan USA -- that's selling a 49" KS8000 SUHD -- for $1,139.99 / €964.36 / £855.89 ! For a 49/50"er it'd be hard to find anything better. Wish I could afford it the outlandish price :(

    Hi Vincent, did u know about Samsung ARC port automatically turning on Tv middle of night. Apparently on 2016 + models. You have to switch off Anynet+ but that then means you can’t use tv remote to control soundbar. I’ve tested SONY Soundbar. Samsung don’t have an answer or a fix.

    Dear Vincent,
    In store we also use a motion video in store (Amsterdam) and have seen that sometimes the TV does not play it correctly. It looks that it sometimes can not play 60 hertz. It hold its picture on the same place. It's looks better than 50 hertz pannel. But not as good as a good 100 hertz pannel. Could you explain how this could be?
    Also Samsung uses a 50 hertz pannel in the 49 inch version.
    For its price point we compared this model with the Samsung mu8000 and the Sony xe85. Both of this tv's plays motion very well. (price in the Netherlands Samsung 55mu7000 EUR 1300 (with cashback)
    I look forward to your reply.
    Kind regards,
    Ruben van Tatenhove

    Thank-you for your review Vincent. This is a great t.v. picture wise. It really comes into it's own on an evening when there are no reflections. It's a truly outstanding picture! However I have very grave concerns for other attributes. Documentation is sparse. Samsung software is truly awful in quality and layout. Setup screens hung on several occasions. Very inconsistent UI layout. Main remote control is just plainly rubbish, it's extremely badly laid out with no tactile feel whatsoever and the buttons are just far too small. The Smart remote control is better but they clearly need a mix of both to make it work. Worse still, the TV Turns itself on randomly when using HDMI Arc to Sondbar (have reset tv, soundbar, , reset onebox, replaced hdmi cable, updated to latest firmware and made many different config changes). Now/Next on Satellite doesn't work with regular empty EPG lists. This is from a sat cable which worked fine with my previous sat boxes. Switching to freesat/terrestrial is way harder+longer than it should be. Takes quite a few button presses. Understand DAY/NIGHT mode is not available without proper engineer calibration but it's badly, badly needed. I really do not expect these kind of problems with a brand new TV and they truly detract from the wonderful picture. I firmly believe Samsung software is a work in progress. UPDATE 130618: Samsung saying tv turning on automatically could be due to terrestrial channel list updated which can be turned off. Also after the firmware update on 12/06/18 I now have signal strength as well as quality and will be keeping an eye on this in relation to the now+next info not appearing.

    I just ordered one of these but I've seen on a few other sites that the MU7000 has only one large stand in the middle, not two on the sides. Are there different versions of this TV or does it actually come with both types of stands?

    So the difference between the ue65mu7000 and the mu8000 is the design? Because they look different, the frame is of a different color, the stand is different, even the back are different the mu8000 on the top is thinner form the bottom. strange, since there are stores that sell both, And at a different price.

    Seems hard to find a review of a UK MU8000. The one with the centre stand.
    Well seen one today, but not impressed by the shop sky+ signal, everyones face looks like it was melting wax work. Also considering a MU7000 Premium UHD, so would that be better than a standard MU8000? Seems like there are two models of MU7000 out there.
