So...I just got the MU800 82 inch and I have been really confused (and frustrated) about all of the picture settings--adjusting everything between gaming and movie sessions. This is beyond helpful. I have been a regular RUclips viewer since (nearly) day one and have only subscribed to three channels. This is my fourth and, quite simply and honestly, it is the best, most informative, and helpful channel I've ever seen. Kudos and thank you.

HDR is in the wrench icon for some reason. Also in their head to head with Sony....there is a cable management obtained by removing the panel on the back. Yes, none in the stand but, much more on the back by having a fully removable panel.

When I follow these settings the color appears very faded. Is this really recommended or should I increase the Color setting or switch the Color Space from Auto to Native?

The one i am looking at buying says it's Premium UHD, so is that a better version than possibly a earlier version of this tv? Is better than the more expensive MU8000 UK model?

I've definitely looked to you all for settings and suggestions before. I bought this TV in December. Do you have any advice on a particular issue I'm having? Currently, I only have a Nintendo Switch (I think maxes out at 900p on some games and 1080p for others when docked), an Xbox 360 (is that just upscaled 720 content to 1080p?) and also streaming services on the apps (RUclips, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime). I don't have a lot of 4K content, so I'm looking at SD and some HD content. I have constant issues with a delay in black/dark colors moving across less dark or lighter backgrounds. Almost smokey or trailing? Is it just the constant upscaling occurring on this TV? I've even had a Samsung technician come out who thought my problem was hardware and was ready to replace the panel, but couldn't see what I was seeing.
When I watch 4K videos on RUclips or Netflix, I don't catch these issues, but there's a lot of Let's Play game videos I like to watch that are dark horror games, and I can barely enjoy them now (Resident Evil 7, Friday the 13th). Are these videos also just suffering from RUclips compression when they're not 4K?
More to the point, did this tv show any signs of detail being lost and objects becoming fuzzy in dark scenes when you reviewed it? I'm not seeing this recorded by anyone else who reviewed this tv and I'm starting to think I got a defective unit.

When ever you see a Samsung model with one number off, usually it means that only one minor thing is different but everything else is the sane of tge base series model

So should a ps4 hdmi cable be good for 4K out of the box or do I need another type of Hdmi cable?? Cause I’ve been told that it has limits I’m just really unsure 😐

I really wish Samsung TV's had an RGB Range setting, aka Limited or Full. Is this the same thing as the Color Space setting? I cannot seem to get this right on my RU8000. Native seems WAY too saturated, and Auto seems way too unsaturated. It seems this RU8000 set has very low color volume which is a real shame.... It has me considering returning the TV.
All this did was make my picture dark and honestly look like it lost a lot of detail. I can't see that being your end goal, but I have my settings exactly how you recommended them.

when i turn off auto motion plus the judder makes movies unwatchable. how do i get the tv to just display 24p it should be able to since its 120 hz. when i turn on auto motion plus the judder will be gone but motion is blurry and everything looks weird. can you help?

I recently picked up a MU8000 and have been really disappointed with the screen brightness (typically like my screens at max brightness and my images vivid). I noticed when you enabled the HDR+ Mode, your screen seemed to get brighter. On my set when I enable the HDR+Mode, my screen takes on a yellow effect. Is your screen doing the same and it is just not translating in the video? Or am I doing something that is causing a "yellow" effect when I enable HDR+

Adam Pritt that's just how HDR+ mode looks. I don't recommend using it, it doesn't do a very good job at all and your image will just look a funny yellow. If you want to increase the brightness on the MU8000 I find that bumping up the gamma bt.1886 abit really helps especially with HRD content but for that its st.204. Just raise them up 2 and you will see a difference. Leave the brightness at 0 and put contrast enhancer on high, it will still produce a great image it will just look more brighter and vivid. Also I don't agree with colour at 50 I've found that 65 is really good for more richer colours but not to much hope this helps

You get yellow effect because hdr+ default color temperature is warm2.
HDR+ looks great, I've compared real HDR vs fake HDR im games and it looks very close.

Mine developed dark lines across the screen after six months, been replaced by a NU8000. New tv has dead pixel. Falling out with Samsung.

Only use it for 4k content
Just a heads up for people buying this tv and looking to play video games. It’s a beautiful TV but when you put it in gaming mode the HDR turns off you can either have HDR on and play in the standard mode or have HDR off and gaming mode. You cannot have both. Extremely disappointed. Almost all new gaming consoles come with the HDR feature and this will not allow you to play in gaming mode with HDR. The tv has trouble running the games without jitters and blurred vision when playing first person shooters especially.
I can play with HRD on under gaming mode. I think you mean HDR+. HDR+ is not true HDR. It is for that does not have real HDR. Since this TV has HDR, HDR+ is not necessary and should turn off. What you should do is go general setting and turn on UHD instead.
