This is a great TV upgrade at the perfect price and quality. I don't need 120hz if I'm not a gamer and the motion enhancement is enough for watching sports. 4k is plenty considering most live TV still isn't even broadcasting in 4k. Thanks for video.

Thank you for you in depth review. I am a 70 year old trying to understand modern TV technology. I have bad hearing and depend on wireless Blutooth headphones to hear a TV. But my current TV has a headphone output and I connect a Blutooth transmitter to that jack. So if this model cannot send the audio to my headphones, does it at least have a headphone jack?

I bought the DU8000 today, after watching your review video and your unboxing video. I'm glad to learn that I can adjust the Judder Control to reduce that soap opera effect. My brother in-law's Samsung had that soap opera effect and I did not like it. Since my local Micro Center allowed me to sample the physical DU8000 TV in person, with a sales rep to answer my questions, I gave them the curtesy of buying the unit from their store instead of from Amazon or B&H Photo.
Great site. I just bought a DU8000 three days ago. I cannot get the TV to allow my Samsung HT-Z520 theater surround system to get sound out of the surround system speakers it alway changes the setting back to tv speakers and changes the speaker setting on the theater system. Does this tv support 1080p? I’m trying to set up my Xbox 360 but am only getting the 720p to work. When I set the console to 1080p I get a blue screen.
Great video I have subscribed! You mentioned it won't support 120hz, but the Samsung website says it's 120hz native I just wanted to confirm it won't support 120hz coming from a PC? Update: I am referring to the 85 inch model which I think is different panel?
I got the 85-Inch this week. When the screen is completely black I can see some of the back lighting coming through. Is anybody else having this issue before I decide to return the tv. Either then that the picture looks good, it's just pretty annoying to have back lighting visible when the screen is black.
@@TechSteve thanks Steve I have checked that site and it does look like the UN85DU8000FXZC is 4K@120 Wondering if anyone who actual TV can confirm. Because the smaller sizes look to be spec at 60hz. And I get mixed information from people at Best Buy. Wondering if my Xbox series X will get 4K@120hz with my 2.1 hdmi cable.
@TechSteve I tried playing Costa Rica in RUclips 4k resolution it can play but lags a lot though my internet speed is fine. Then I downloaded videos in 4k resolution and saved them in external drive but when I tried playing them it can't show any of them which led me to believe that this tv does not support 4k resolution
I'm looking at getting a new TV as atm I have a Apple TV 4K and I'm having issues with HDCP it says it supports HDCP 2.2 the TV in the manual online searched with the TVs model number which I suspect is a LIE on all 4 HDMI ports I even tried to change it which you can't only possible to do enhancement which I did and doesn't help and watching shows like on stan or binge its just black screen but I get audio but nothing else and I also have a 48gbps HDMI $30-50AUD got on sale due to knowing a guy and the cable that should support it and I'm still having issues so the only thing that hasn't been changed is the TV as its a cheap 4K UHD TV from JVC which prob explains it so I'm looking at a new TV since i suspect this JVC is lying about its specs or just can't do HDCP at all for some reason even in 1080P HDR or SDR no matter the HZ too it doesn't work either so this is my only way of going atm is a new TV so thanks for the review I may look into getting it or something else and hoping it solves my issues and I don't waste $900 on a TV

Great review. I’m looking for a new 55 inch TV. I’m guessing it would east to mount a Perlesmith or other TV stand to the back? It’s hard to see the back of a TV either online or in-store.
Hey Steve. My observation is that I am hesitant to buy a tv like this based on your opening statements of how company's are going with mini-led and Oled. I also noticed that mostly Samsung is the main company still producing edge-lit tv's. I'm concerned because I believe that edge-lit is the cheapest type tv to manufacture. That makes me hesitate and think... "Am I getting a crappy tv by choosing edge-lit"?? I also reviewed R-tings and they did not favor this tv well. What are your thoughts and are edge-lit tv's something to stay away from?? Advise and thanks for your input
I wouldn't be too worried about edge-lit vs direct-lit vs etc, in my experience, I've had both direct and edge lit tv's and samsung does a pretty good job with how they implement their technology. Really comes down to how much the manufacturer cares to properly implement the technology at the given price point, for example I have had a Sony in the same price range that was direct lit and it was tashhhh compared to the similarly priced samsung with an edge-lit panel. A fantastic samsung tv that's a model higher that is a great example of this is the Q60C (or Q60D now), it is edge lit, but black level is deep and uniformity is stellar
I was at Best Buy and asked about 120 HZ only on the 85", which I've been reading on several websites. They said this is not correct. That all the DU8000s are 60 HZ. Can you confirm?

@Revolver1981 it’s a misconception
With no vrr will games ever get screen tearing
DU8000 have multi view?
What is that 2nd game in the video, after mortal kombat?
Blue Fire
@@Cirkevfx Thank you 🙂
Does it have Bluetooth ?
Yes
@@TechSteve thank you
I bought the same tv and it’s amazing I really appreciate this video thank you again 👌🫡
Unrelated question but is the Sony X90L worth buying?
Yes, I made a video
Yes!
I got the 85-Inch this week. When the screen is completely black I can see some of the back lighting coming through. Is anybody else having this issue before I decide to return the tv. Either then that the picture looks good, it's just pretty annoying to have back lighting visible when the screen is black.
Can you confirm if the 85” is 4K @ 120hz?
www.displayspecifications.com/en
@@TechSteve thanks Steve I have checked that site and it does look like the UN85DU8000FXZC is 4K@120
Wondering if anyone who actual TV can confirm. Because the smaller sizes look to be spec at 60hz. And I get mixed information from people at Best Buy.
Wondering if my Xbox series X will get 4K@120hz with my 2.1 hdmi cable.
4k content in my external drive cannot be found. how can i play 4k content in external devices
You probably have to use exFat formatting on drive
after some time i found out that this tv can't play 4k resolution it's only crystal uhd but they market it as 4k crystal uhd tv
@powerfulquotes1316 it plays 4k just fine, my demos are all 4k. What source are you using
@TechSteve I tried playing Costa Rica in RUclips 4k resolution it can play but lags a lot though my internet speed is fine. Then I downloaded videos in 4k resolution and saved them in external drive but when I tried playing them it can't show any of them which led me to believe that this tv does not support 4k resolution
Which HDMI port is the best for gaming on this tv?
Any
How is this tv vs Samsung BU8500 ?
Please review also Sony S3 Series Steve once it is available in the Market. Thank you
My two cents, get the Hisense u6 series Vidaa is way better with a fast snappy os too. It has full local dimming. Bought it last week ❤️ The back and stands are full metal. It's so premium
Yeah if looking for a budget tv I would look at Hisense or TCL. More bang for your buck.
@@MSDOGS1976 They don't last. Fancy features but all sorts of problems after a year or two. LG and Samsung last.
@@misterlexx2721THIS!!!
Me and my bro had to return a TCL. Nope... not doing that again.

@@shaneheffernan get at least a 55
@maddox.0 could be too big 50 might be enough my room is small enough
Is the DU8100 the same TV with another name?
Does VRR matter for gaming ?
Yes, It controls the frame rate of games to improve how smooth the experience is
@@TechSteve Do u think it worth upgrading to this Tv from the DU7200 then? I’m gonna use it mainly for Xbox gaming.
@@omar_gangyt7965 im trynna figure out now
Why does the screen look so green on everything?
We are still getting use to the lighting and camera adjustments in the new studio, I will take a look at camera settings on the next video. It doesn’t look that way live
Thank you!
I got the 85" for $1099 I hope is okay:D just for movies, gaming is not that important for us on the TV
Please hisense 65E6NTUK or Samsung DU8000
Cant finde the „apps“ on my TV any help?
sign in to your samsung account
Wish you had one for the DU7200. Great video.
I have one that I will be filming soon
@@TechSteve thank you. Just got the tv yesterday and im trying not to return it but yet understand it better. So far I’m not happy with the controller and i don’t understand the color dots etc. it doesn’t even have a place for an optical cord. Can’t wait for that video.
The Du7200 is a downgraded from this one, the DU8000 does have a optical output but HDMI eARC is better on newer soundbars
@@TechSteve I used the HDMI eArc port from sound bar to TV and it works great. The controller actually controls the sound bar as well now.
I still have my optical cable from my Xbox to the sound bar still connected. Is that adding any value?
@masterbath2062 use the HDMI audio from the TV on your Xbox, optical is a old compressed audio, the HDMI will allow better audio on everything
Great review. I’m looking for a new 55 inch TV. I’m guessing it would east to mount a Perlesmith or other TV stand to the back? It’s hard to see the back of a TV either online or in-store.
Yes it will mount,
RTings politely trashed this tv
This is rly their entry level (budget) tv.. not comparable at all to Oled or miniled
@@ishkapiska4516 $529? $100 and change more you can get a hisense u8k. Samsung is finished.
Edge-lit vs Direct led is still boils down to implementation. I had a TCL and LG direct led which performs worst than my Sony Edge lit.
Why its hard to change pictures size on samsung crystal UHD TV ??
I think mainly from external sources
would u recommend the du8000over the lg ut75
I was at Best Buy and asked about 120 HZ only on the 85", which I've been reading on several websites. They said this is not correct. That all the DU8000s are 60 HZ. Can you confirm?
www.displayspecifications.com/en/model/3d893aa7
@emmcee476 Yes the 85 in is 120
Will a Samsung remote that has source work on this TV???
