Thanks Terry for the great kedgeree recipe it's got me through some hard times and you know getting on the tangerine everyday and cooking up kedgeree on a Friday night gets me through life so thanks terry
I got a tip on boiling eggs,,,, always put your eggs in boiling water and apparently the meat shrinks away from the shell,,,, I've done it three times and peeling is so easy and the eggs are perfect
Jamie doesn't know how to cook rice. If it's wet or you need to rinse it afterwards, you've fucked up. But if you think washing your rice before cooking isn't necessary, you also don't know how to cook rice.
@@georgealderson4424 You normally wash the rice BEFORE steaming it with just enough water. Bring the water to boil, switch out the heat cover the pot with a lid and a kitchen towel and leave it alone for 20 to 30 min (depends on the quantity of rice). The result is a tasty and non sticking rice redy to be served. Cooking it in too much water like pasta and rinsing afterwards is completely wrong.
@@AR-xy4jy I thought it was just another way of coooing rice; I believe Persian-style rice is cooked like this. I personally don't cook my rice like that, I steam it as you mentioned.
@@michaellupu2080 Not quite. It is true that the persian rice is cooked and washed BUT the rice is only partly cooked this way and is still raw inside before it is seasoned and fried in a pot until done. This way the rice will hold together like a cake, desired for persian rice but unusable for anything else.
I was all in till they started doing unspeakable things to the rice, I mean smoked haddock egg n fluffy rice warmed in nutty butter n onions n coriander sounds n looks good but I can't cosign to the rice collander buffoonery
I wonder if uncle Roger has seen this yet.
The treatment of the rice here would bring him to tears! Lol

Spot on from Mr Oliver again. All his recipes are accessible and work really well. I haven't been inspired by a single Gordan Ramsey recipe yet...
What do I do if I can't get smoked haddock? Smoked trout?
Smoked cod
Any smoked fish
I swear Jamie uses the kitchen like a god
2:28 "Just get yourself some cold water and rinse all those vitamins and minerals down the plughole." That's marvellous.
Who wants a mouthful of starch with their rice?? But hey, we' re not all qualified chefs like you seem to be.

Uncle Roger would be crying over what you did to the rice.

Best lazy, drunk food ever!
Kedgeree for breakfast? Really?!
Oh, yes. It was quite a common breakfast in stately homes. It used to be made from yesterday's leftovers.
Yes really.
This was common knowledge when it was more popular.
On a hot summers day it can be served cold outdoors or out of a chill box at a picnic.
Oh yes...ol time posh breakfast..that's how I know it...nippers was another special...love kippers
Popular breakfast dish in India, where it originated
Who cooks rice like that?!!!!!
