Great videos and info!! I'm also from Toronto and was wondering how the tax gets deducted and If you have to pay separate tax in Canada. Does this Avse program deal with that along with helping you find a place there? Do you have any options to chose from in terms on rental apartments or houses ?
Tax usually gets deducted from your paycheck if you’re full time. It’s not much, like 10 percent. The Tax in Canada I’m not sure - I’ve been avoiding that lol. I think there’s a process to officially change your residency but I have to done that yet. AVSE will give you a list of accommodations that are close to where the course takes place. After the course is over, you get lined up with a job and you usually find an apartment near wherever you get a job. AVSE doesn’t provide you with apartments- but it is SOOOO easy to get an apartment here and there are thousands of vacant apartments. You could walk in to any apartment you like on any day of the month and as long as you pay first and last, that is your apartment now. No proof of employment or references needed. A great place to look is Facebook Marketplace- go to rentals and search Phnom Penh - if you wanna see examples, I’ve also made videos on each apartment I’ve had here and a video about how to find an apartment.
