Very good demo. I used a Boss Noise Gate for many years, I noticed that Yngwie was using one so I basically did what he did. After a while I found it was negatively affecting my tone, so I went with the ISP Decimator. But this one looks like it is worth further investigation. I also tried a very expensive Zuul pedal, but found that it was actually making noise rather than reducing noise!

    Excellent tutorial and demo sir..
I've not had the pedal format I don't believe, but I've had it with multi effects.. I always used it by turning it up until it killed the hiss and noise but not cutoff my lead bends, etc..
One reason I love EMG's and active pickups is that they don't have the annoying noise floor.. Plus, you don't have to turn up the gain on your amp so much which also reduces noise.
Great demo brother.. Always good stuff here..
Be well and have a great rest of the week.. I'm off to work.. I was supposed to be off, but the owner has to see the doctor and asked if I would work and I had to say yes.. They are such nice people..
    Take care kind sir..

Excellent tutorial. I bought one of these a few weeks ago after watching your video. I've utilized the 4 wire method on my pedalboard as the Synergy SYN 2 hasn't got any form of noise gate. One of the modules I use for high gain was very noisy, with this inserted into the send and return and my guitar going through the NS1-X has eliminated the noise completely without sacrificing any volume or tone. Thanks again for a very informative video. Mick 😊

Hi Leon. Excellent channel. I've been using the NS-1X for sometime now. I have it on my pedalboard and I use the 4 Cable Method. For small venues, I use the Synergy SYN 2 preamp and Synergy 50/50 setup. In the SYN 2 preamp I have the Engl Powerball II module and a Bogner Ubershall 2 module. The Bogner is set for the High Gain, mainly for solos. I noticed at a recent gig when the NS-1X was engaged, there was some reduction in the tone mainly the top end and some of the middle frequencies. Have any of your other subscribers that own the NS-1X noticed this. It's not a major problem in a live situation. But could be a problem if using it in a recording setup. On the bigger venues I use an Engl rig which comprises of an E570 preamp, E840 power amp and two Engl 2x12 cabs. The E570 preamp has a built in noise gate which is switchable. I've never notice any reduction in the tone. So is this reduction only apparent in the noise gate pedals?
If you get a chance and can borrow the Engl E570 preamp, try it out, perhaps do a review. It would be nice to hear your impressions on it. Cheers mate. Mick 😍

I’m actually thinking of getting this to pair with an older 80’s Ibanez rack delay that suffers from massive ground hum. I replaced the two prong cord with a grounded three prong power cord but it still suffers from ground noise/hum. I use older racks with my Tascam Model 24 in the effect send/return and feel they would benefit from having this clean up their signal.

As usual, another excellent, informative video which I will need to rewatch. The whole Boss X series seems like the digital version of the Waza series to me, which means Boss could really pull something out of the hat re modulation, verb, delay or any combo o that. Seems like they now want to expand on the series which is great.
I have the OD-1X (check Jake Cloudchair’s demo) and the CP-1X, both have helped reduce my analog snobbery no end.

What I value is long sustain, super quick attack, natural "sound" (super important when playing stops on thrash metal). I always was shy spending the money on the ISP. Someday I was so frustrated I gave in, and the moment I plugged it in and tried it, I knew may journey was over. PERFECT IN ALL ASPECTS.
