I tried the mini decimate noise gate, returned it for the OG boss noise gate, wasnt quite happy with that then went for the ns1x and i completely agree with you. its super natural and actually allows one to play dynamically. Great review and nice t shirt. I appreciate your content, you're a killer player. Rock on ,🤘
The new controls and set up make the ns1x very similar to the TC Sentry which is a fantastic gate. Great video, very informative. Your voice is super soothing as well haha
I have a little DAW setup at home and noise and hiss when using hi-gain seems to be worse around all that computer stuff. I also think I can hear a ticking sound in the hiss when the air conditioner starts up. Therefore the NS-1X is on my radar for sure. A good power supply for my pedals makes no difference, so I am wondering if a Furman power conditioner would help. For now I just bought a power strip that has EMI/RFI filtering and it arrived today. Not sure it will help much, or if a Furman will. I think most of the noise is getting into signal chain via the pickups, although making sure the mains power is not dirty can't hurt. It's so bad that when my gate opens I can hear the hiss in there with the note. Maybe I need to build a tin foil Faraday cage shelter in front of my DAW to play guitar in hehe. 🤣
Could be worse. I used to live about 200ft from an electric fence that enclosed at 25 acre cow pasture. I couldn't record at all. You could hear the tick of the electric fence through the guitar amp at low volume on the clean channel.
Hey Euge, I'm also a Marshall guy and boss effects are standard for me and I own several. Digital modelers are not my thing either, analog is analog and there is no getting around that.
Hi Euge- great review as always! I've been considering a noise gate for a while now, but haven't pulled the trigger. If choosing between the Zuul+ and NS-1X, would you have a preference? Thank you!
So the question is do I get a Blue Guitar Iridium -> IR cab box -> IEM mixer & FOH OR wait for AMP X ??? I only play guitar on a few songs in my band (Beneath the Wayside) I mainly sing. Carrying around my JCM 2000 TSL 100 AND 2X12 CAB WITH st Rocks Reac IR is just to much lol.
I constantly mess around with the guitars volume knob for different sounds. Does ist work for this method of playing or does it cut off the guitarsignal?
On my live board I have this NS-1X and on my studio board Fortin Zuul but they could be the other way around and actually have been since they both do the job great. - ruclips.net/video/CEXSmqs_Ky8/видео.htmlsi=h66DcrJ8Qle0Gyif
Kixks ass dude. Signal chain, underside view, delay dialed in, wah before distortion 🖒. Took it thru the tweaks and appears to have a mirror panel nice! Wah stumped me... who's manufacture. 🔥
Mate. Please make some waves and get an Orange OR30 on the show. I’d love to have you thrash the shit out of it on your channel and provide the filth for us mere mortals. 🤘🏼.
It’s fine. Nothing special about the noise floor and no ground problems. Everything's connected to Black Lion Audio's power conditioner and I have lots of analog mixing gear and everything's really quiet. The wah is especially really noisy ’cos the gain is really high on that. It’s basically the Dunlop rack wah and I have it with Petrucci’s settings except I dialed the gain back a bit from max. The amp was pretty much on full blast and with a cranked Plexi the noise is about 10 times louder ’cos those things are probably the loudest and noisiest man made things after jet airplane 😁. But hey that’s rawk n roll 🕺.
This pedal is great but should not be used as a bandaid for poor wiring, broken components, or dirty power. I feel like the noise floor of your setup in this video is way too high, (intentionally?) even for the relatively high amount of gain and components in the signal chain. Something is not operating or wired correctly.
I’ve used it multiple times just for that especially on old ”classic” venues and (outdoor) festivals 😎👌. Swiss army knife for suppressing noise. I always carried NS-2 with me when I did guitar teching for bands back in the day and most often than not it was the thing that saved the day. It’s just fine. Nothing special about the noise floor. Yet another informative killer Demo Video Euge, thanks for all these demos it has helped my tone tremendously, your playing is Mind Blowing!!!
Thanks man! Glad to hear!
They really tested it out at Boss. Their engineers aren't sleeping all day.

Cool, thanks! 😎
What a killer guitar bro 😎
I was considering to buy a noise gate pedal, finally found the good one,. Keep rockin’ Euge! 🤘🏻
💪🎼👌
Glad to see an upgraded version. The old one was good but did not keep up with newer units.
👌
The best noise gate which ive ever had. For sure.
Agreed.... I have one on the way thank you for your video very helpful
Glad it was helpful!
Love this channel and Eugene is my bro with the big guns....if this guy wore a hat and sunglasses indoors, it's because his future is so bright...
Eugene, that doesn't sound very viking 😂😂
Thanks! My name isn’t Eugene but my nickname is Euge.
Nope 😁. Who the hell is that guy anyways? 😎
Sick tone.
🙏🤟
Great video Euge
Thanks!
07:15 for the settings

👌😎
Just got a Mezzabarba MZero Overdrive. You should really try one if you have the possibility. Soldano with much more Marhall in it.
Very good video ! Killer playing 🤘🏻
Do you prefer the Boss or the Fortin Zuul ?
Greetings from Germany, rawk on
Philipp
Thanks! Both.
Thank you !
Really appreciate you answering to all the comments even on older Videos :)

Thanks! Whichever is cheaper since both do the job great.
How does the NS-1X compare with the ISP Decimator II G-String?

That is indeed a very good question. Unfortunately I don’t have the answer for that 😎.

Euge... What noise gate would you recommend..Im considering grabbing this pedal..What gate do you use yourself bro?
On my live board I have this NS-1X and on my studio board Fortin Zuul but they could be the other way around and actually have been since they both do the job great.

@@EugeValovirta230V Onya Euge... I'll probably grab both...Bit of a pedal collector...Been looking into the NS1x..
Great video! Do you still prefer the Zuul overall?
Thanks! Both are great. The Zuul is on one board and the Boss on another 😎.

Thanks! Yeah I like to have wah before overdrive. Dunlop Petrucci wah.
I prefer an MXR noise clamp or decimator 2Gstring ran in 4 cable method .. _-+CHUG CHURCH+-_
cool

EMG with that noise? you have heavy ground problems in your house.

Gotcha.
Отличный обзор👍. Скажите, какой калибр струн вы в основном используете?
Thanks!

@@EugeValovirta230V that makes more sense. Yes those wah’s can be unbelievably noisy
