Whatever the reasons, China had to build these carriers to protect their trades. With economic power, building a large defense force is a natural thing to do.

That's a pretty arbitrary and naive assumption, especially when you've admitted that many of the exact specs of the Fujian are still unknown. Typical American arrogance!
Sorry America is not arrogant, it's the other way around. American and Japanese had vast experienced in building and working with aircraft carriers, more than five decades, Chinese has less than 5 years and is beginning to learn how this behemoth works and it is being build. Even if China is defeated in the first round, she will come back, slightly better and prepared and each time, she will be better than the last. And in every encounter US will also lose substantial resources, manpower and friends. What then? Nuclear war? There is no winner. Sooner or later, US will need to accept China as an equal. 11 carrier exist on paper only. half of them are in need of service and there is no shipyard capable of maintaining them on schedule.

These kind of "secrets" only surprise everyday citizens. I guarantee that the US military knows exactly wtf is up, and was not caught "off guard." The carrier means nearly nothing on it's own. This is why every US carrier goes nowhere without a fleet of other ships. It's support system allows the US to move these fleets, each being equivalent to a city worth of military supremacy, within reach of supporting, defending, or attacking every country on the planet. One newish Chinese aircraft carrier doesn't even come close to tipping the scales. This is like claiming the CCP also has the largest navy....because they use civilian fishing boats and other privately-owned civilian vessels as militia.

U don't think the Fujian is surprising anyone considering how much China is publicizing its progress.
But not a word about its capability can be believed until the Fujian actually demonstrates that capability.
The EMALS cannot be assumed to oerform even like USsteam catapults until at least one and then several aircraft are launched.
Chinese EW and radar cannot be assumed to even equal US until actually used.
Fujian operations might not even support 49 aircraft until shiwn itherwise. Shandong and Lianong similarly demonstrate difficulty lanching a half or even a quarter of theoretically max capacity.
For at least the next couple years no one can really say what the Fujian mught be capable of and after 6years might still consider the Fujian little more than a curiosity lwith little to no military significance like the Russian Kuznetzoff.
