Don't forget about the support ships oilers and store ships. I served on an oiler. While the ship is nuclear the aircraft still need fuel, and the crew still needs to eat. The Navy's service force is lacking.

I am very excited about the brand new CVN-79 John F. Kennedy supercarrier entering our fleet in 2025! Our new supercarrier will have the latest state of the art radar, sonar, both the F-35- Lighting B and our FA-18-Super Hornets. A 90 jet air wing, including Starkofski helicopters for anti-submarine warfare. The latest anti-missle & drone defense systems. The most efficient power plant with two Bechtel nuclear reactors pumping out over 78 megawatts of power for lazer guided weapons, more spacious cabins for our sailors and the most powerful aircraft carrier in the fleet. DD. 🇺🇸🇻🇮

There is a reason why in times of national emergency one of the first questions out of the President's mouth is "Where are the carriers"? Also don't forget the times when they have provided humanitarian relief. Thanks to all now serving, those who have, and those who will in the future. FLY NAVY!!!

Iran got night optics.(I have to double check it was one of them that never had the advantage of the night strike because they didn't have the night optics and then we just pretty much gave it to them)
We got down to two weeks worth of long range missiles in case we had a protect our self against the strike from China like a year and a half ago or longer. They keep sending stuff so I have no idea how fast they keep making it I hear that we have to beg for an allies for certain things now . Maybe it does- I don't expect the government to say one way or another. But if it doesn't......well, tens of billions of dollars worth of ship could be easily destroyed by several million dollars' worth of missile(s). In modern warfare AC's are just bigger targets. They are hugely expensive to build and then maintain. They also require a task force which amounts to an entire fleet of ships. With hypersonic weapons they no longer serve any purpose other than 'aircraft carrier diplomacy' which amounts to intimidation.

yay for winning WWII - but today's warfare seems to involve lots of cheap drones, and grey zone cutting subsea internet cables - how that's being planned for ?

The Russian losses in Ukraine and the subsequent revelations about weaknesses in Russian military organization and systems have led to several ways in which the U.S. and NATO militaries have been strengthened:
    1. **Increased Military Spending**: Many NATO countries have boosted their defense budgets in response to the perceived threat from Russia, ensuring better funding for modernization, research, and development of military capabilities.
    2. **Enhanced Readiness and Preparedness**: The conflict has prompted NATO to enhance its rapid response forces and improve readiness levels among member states. This includes increased joint exercises and training focused on countering hybrid warfare tactics.
    3. **Focus on Modernization**: Observations of Russian equipment and tactics have highlighted the need for modernization in NATO forces. This has led to investments in advanced technologies, such as drones, cyber capabilities, and missile defense systems.
    4. **Strengthened Eastern Flank**: NATO has reinforced its eastern flank by deploying additional troops and equipment to member states in Eastern Europe. This bolsters deterrence against potential aggression from Russia and reassures Eastern European allies.
    5. **Intelligence Sharing**: The conflict has accelerated intelligence sharing among NATO allies, improving situational awareness and strategic planning. This collaboration has been crucial for understanding threats and coordinating responses.
    6. **Focus on Hybrid Warfare**: The lessons learned from the conflict, particularly regarding hybrid warfare tactics, have led NATO to develop strategies to counter unconventional threats, including cyber-attacks, disinformation campaigns, and the use of proxy forces.
    7. **Strengthened Partnerships**: NATO has deepened cooperation with non-member countries that support its objectives, enhancing collective security through partnerships and joint exercises. This includes closer ties with Ukraine, Finland, and Sweden.
    8. **Reevaluation of Military Doctrine**: The insights gained from the Ukraine conflict have prompted NATO to reassess military doctrines and strategies, ensuring they are better equipped to handle contemporary and future threats.
Overall, the situation in Ukraine has served as a catalyst for NATO and U.S. military transformation, promoting a more unified, prepared, and technologically advanced defense posture.

Meanwhile, the PLAN just floated a new LHD platform with two islands and EMALS to deploy when they take Taiwan, not to mention the three stealth aircraft that were seen in public for the first time last week. USA looking pretty slow, and our ship-building capabilities aren’t what they used to be…
    Time to step up…

Relevant for 75 years? This sounds like foolish thinking to me. Considering the development of advanced hypersonic missiles & drone swarms these “military floating islands” seem more like targets and the bloated battleships developed from 1890-1945 … costly, increasingly short sighted, and irrelevant. The AmeriKaan Empire should be focusing more on inexpensive means of attack. With China controlling rare earth supplies these costly systems may not be the best use of the funds “We” have. Just saying, “are We building outdated platforms for a future that is changing so rapidly as to make these weapons of war more like buggy whips? Sure, they’re good to look at and the Pentagon & the miltary industrial complex LOVE them … but are they really worth the dough when there seems to be constant short falls in the USN ability to even properly staff them?

Hey, if you got it, flaunt it. I think all of the other navy’s around the world have not advanced too much - so yeah, the old ships are still relevant. China is lying about those rare earth materials - that’s my opinion. They are cooking the books
