Thank you sew much Becky, I’m making a Halloween wall hanging from Sweet Pea and I have a new scanNCut. I couldn’t figure out how to accurately cut out the pieces. As we know the svg files from them are not accurate. Now I believe I can do this accurately. I’ll do 1 block at a time so I get the hang of it. I’ve been searching for days to figure it out. YOU are the only one I’ve found that explains this so simply. Thank you, thank you!
Great video! I now can make my own .svg files in Embrilliance. Thank you Becky! Just a comment: I put Heat and Bond Lite on the back of my fabric and keep it on when putting it onto the Brother Scan and Cut Mat (just the mat that came with the machine), put the Heat and Bond Lite down on mat, fabric up and cut. After using the mat a lot, sometimes the fabric does not want to stick so I put tape around parts of the fabric to keep it in place during the cutting process. I cut all my pieces needed for the project, then when I'm ready to fuse to my project, I remove the paper. Just a little different process as you have showed us but I wanted to share what works for me. By the way...your husband's seam rippers are gorgeous..I bought one for myself and have given one to my sisters and a couple of sewing friends.
Thanks Becky for the quick update on the SVG file creations. I know I have done it before but always forget, this definitely comes in handy AGAIN and AGAIN. Getting old is not fun, and if I have not used the Scan and Cut for a few months, well mind goes out the window.:) With all the fall and winter items to do I will keep my scan and cut handy along with my embroidery machine !!!!! You are a lifesaver.
I’m glad I’m not the only one. Ha ha. I am wondering, though, why did I buy Simply Appliqué if Wmbrilliance Essentials will do the trick. What is the difference?
@@rkline8744 I use Simply Applique to create the stitches around the item, if it is not done in the embroidery. I use Essential to create the cut file, knowing that the embroidery has already been included in the design. You can use Simply Applique to get he cut file also, but Essentials to me is easier. Does that make sense?
This is just so beyond my 69 year old brain! Lol lol I do have just Embrilliance & have ventured in to create designs from scratch & send them via wifi to my new Solaris 2. But, I still love watching. You're a great instructor.
Ellen, if you can create designs from scratch, then this is NOT beyond you! lol It's just a nice option to have if you get an applique design that doesn't come with svgs. :)
So glad you cleared up the Microsoft naming convention. I stumbled over that recently. Where’s my SVG..? I know I saved it here! Lol. These old grey cells let me down sometimes. 😂
I cut out all my applique pieces for this project on the SNC. Thanks you for showing how to make the SVG in Embrilliance ahile back - so cool. Can't imagine hand trimming those leaves. YIKES!
When I cut I I flip/reverse the design and put the paper up... when I put paper down I was scrapping for a VERY long time. LOL Lesson learned on my part. Love watching you work.
I've had the same problem before. But I've discovered that if I leave the iron on the hnb for another 5-10 seconds, the hnb melts into the fabric fibers and doesn't come off. I wasn't adhering it well before - that was my problem.
It sure will! Unity is a Baby Lock machine and Embrilliance saves to the .pes file format which is used by Baby Lock machines. :) Have fun and thanks for using my link below the video to Embrilliance if you wouldn't mind.
You may to tell to go to Embrillance, but when I click on the color there is no choice for applique it just show Color. I have Essentials and Enthusiast. Are you using Stitch Artist?
How odd! You may want to do a trouble ticket with Embrilliance or re-download the program. Here is the page from Embrilliance that shows that svg files can be created using Essentials. embrilliance.com/product/essentials
@@PowerToolsWithThread I figured it out..........just not listening to your instructions good enough. I right clicked instead of just a click on the color. I have gone now through the entire process. Thank you!!

I also use this method, but I leave the paper backing on. The cut fabric comes off the mat much easier that way.
I really appreciate your teaching style!

@@debcarry1217 Perfect sense. That’s what I do too
Such a beautiful table topper! Thanks for sharing!
Very useful info! So much easier to make a svg file thus way! And it appears the size comes out more to size needed than in past videos. Great!!!
I'm loving this method. Thanks!
Thank you for this tutorial. Can't wait to try making my own svg files.
Have fun!
Thanks for a great video. For some of us, a refresher is a good to have.

Thanks
Becky I have an older Unity purchased second hand with an upgrade. Do you think the Embrillance software and files will work with my machine?

Did you use the thin fabric needle on this cut? Thank you for the tutorial
I used the gold fabric blade.
@@PowerToolsWithThread thank you!
What fusible did you use?
Heat and Bond Lite
I’m guessing there is a way to do this using BES Blue software, but am struggling to figure it out.
Sorry no. BES Blue does not do this.

What about a MAC
Yes, there is a version of Embrilliance for a Mac as well.
I thought Becky always told us to put the fabric side up so u didn’t ruin ur mat? Becky?
I've discovered that as long as I super-adhere the HNB to the back of the fabric so it doesn't pull off, I've been having success with that.
