I'm a plyo fan....thanks for the video. You can go to a park and jump up and down on benches and things in a random fashion while you jog around in the fresh air.
Awesome video! Thank you for all of the helpful vidoes you have posted. Track and field is my all time favorite sport and you have helped me a lot. I will be a Senior in High school coming up this next year and I was wondering, What could I do to get the most improvement in my times and just get better overall for the 100 m and 200 m seeing as it is going to be my last year? Hey buddy. Doug workouts like this along with getting stronger in the gym will help you improve for sure. Without knowing what you're doing it's tough for me to say why you haven't gotten better. Keep watching my videos and it should help 👍
lots more coming so stay tuned! I've also got a ton of how to videos on my channel under the track and field playlist so be sure to check those out as well.
Very good video, plyometrics always helped me a lot with my explosive power. There were a few drills I didn't know before so thank you, I'm gonna try them out soon. And btw, that new intro is epic 😄
right on so happy to hear that! And thanks, glad peeps are digging the intro. I went through a ton before settling on this one so its good to see people like it :)
You can really see the effort you put in this intro. My JCAMPFIT T-shirt has just arrived in good old germany 😃. It fits perfect and looks so awesome 💪😄💪. And the enclosed letter really motivated me, thank you so much. I wish you the very best for the future.

Great video... thanks! Do you recommend this workout in isolation, or would this be good for pre-speed training (sprints, flying sprints), as a combined session? Thanks in advance!
hey thanks for all the videos theyve been very helpful to me. I want to ask you what I should do if I have a month to train for a race. I know youve mentioned before that training for a race is a year round thing, but I hope you could give me some advice on what type of training to do, what is the intensity level and how often should I go to the track. I started last week, going to the track everyday and focusing on my endurance and starting. I would really appreciate it if you could give me some tips. Thanks!
dude i've got plans on my website for track and love to write a personal workout plan for you for the next month. check that out if thats an option...i've had people run faster than they have in their entire lives in just a few short weeks no joke. otherwise when preparing for a race at this short of time you'd want to do prob a week or two of strength endurance then shift to speed endurance and then end with speed workouts for the last week with some solid tech days thrown in to work on the event etc.
I feel like you would have one of the best pops if you skate. All of these things are very similar to skateboarding. I honestly came here just to see how can I train for more explosion on my board.
Jaret if you are reading what workout can I do to jump higher besides this one like jump focused without going to the GYM always because I don't have time sometimes to go there the GYM is far from my house I only come there maybe Saturday or Sunday just a home workout.
hey jaret !! you know how you say that if you're doing things right you should be peaking at the end your season, so my question was you know how you should change your workout to challenge your body + to not get use to of a particular workout so at the end of the season what kind of workout i should do to support that peaking for the end of your season and should there be a vibrancy in your workout at the end of season?
Don't get me wrong, I don't intend to offend you or anything because I really think these exercises are good and I do some of them myself. The only problem is that you are not using your feet in the optimal way and you're relying more on anti-gravity muscles rather than the calves and the feet. It's hard for me to explain how to engage your feet correctly in a youtube comment. I have been working on that for 5/6 years and I still feel like I have a lot of things to improve there but basically what you have to focus on, in the first place, is to reach the full range of motion in the plantar flexion phase. Once you master that you can focus on dorsiflexion so that in the end, if you workout properly for at least a few months, you'll be able to "push and pull" with your feet and reach the full range of motion in a fraction of a second. If you only work on plantar flexion you'll have a good "push" but you won't be able to "get ready" for the next "push" and you'll end up burning more fuel and being less efficient. If you only work on dorsiflexion there will be no "push" so you'll be even less efficient because you'll engage the anti-gravity muscles only. What I can see from this video is that you don't "push" to the full with your feet and your dorsiflexion is still incomplete. As a result you're only using part of your potential. I strongly encourage you to do all of the drills that you can think of with the idea of pushing behind. In this video you can see what I mean: ruclips.net/video/PH-3cHxXAK0/видео.html when your foot is on the ground it should complete the push and leave the ground with the toes pointing down towards the ground, when your foot is about to touch the ground it should be parallel to it so that you're ready to explode back up and out. If you fail to complete any of these two phases your stride will be less effective and this works in any field and any sport in which you have to use your feet to propel yourself, whether it's jumping, running or even landing. I hope this will give you some room for improvement as your videos did for me.
I agree with you slightly but that's only one piece of the puzzle. When you are doing any plyometric work, the power comes from an effective triple extension from the hips, knees AND ankles. This way you recruit much more powerful muscles such and the glutes, quads and hamstrings to produce the force. The ankles are only a small part of the equation and by watching the video this dude has got decent enough dorsiflexion/plantaflexion, certainly enough to potentiate and pre-load the foot for the stretch shortening cycle to take place. A valid point though.
Kevin Madden Kevin you have to understand that you can’t compare Bolt or any other world class sprinter to you average sprinter. What they do is an adaptation of the basic concept coupled with great ability. I am an former D1 All American sprinter and I now coach high school sprinters. I can’t compare them to me at my best nor can I tell them to hold their foot steady without dorsal flexion. Bolt has impressive stability in his ankles do to years of training. If you try to teach kids that, they will most likely injure themselves. The key is to teach the basic concept and then expand from there. Just remember you do have to push which relates directly to backside action. Remember Newtons tried and true equation: Force is equal mass times acceleration. That would be the back side acceleration of the leg and the foot during the “paw back” phase which must be taught to ensure proper mechanics.
What do you think of improve your soccer game using Eprosoke Training Program? I notice a lot of people keep on talking about Eprosoke Training Program.
Thanks for sharing this Jaret, I'll definitely do this. So is this the type of workout I would want to save until Jan (after I've been in the weight room for a few months and done base work)?
+Jaret Campisi Ah okay great, in that case I'll start doing this once a week right away, in addition to my two weekly weight room workouts. Gonna try to qualify for my junior college track team this spring (gotta be able to at least run a 50.50 400m and/or a 22.50 200m). Been finding your videos quite helpful. Thanks a lot bro, and keep up the good work!
I played football and basketball for my first two years in high school but then I stopped play other sports due to my talent in track and getting scholarship offers at such a young age...
what do you think the best work out routine for toning is? ive been doing legs on one day, then back and bi, then chest tri and shoulders with core everyday. anything i should change up?
toning is a matter of body fat %. There is no such thing as a "toning" workout. All workouts are basically building muscle and burning calories...once you get to a certain body fat % you will look "toned" and then as you lose more body fat you get into looking "shredded" Our bodies only have muscle or fat, so its just the combination that you have that makes you look a certain way if that makes sense. But yeah your workout sounds fine.
Do you like the flyknit Racers? Are they good for sprinting workouts and just running in general? I'm looking for shoes for next season and these were one of the pairs I was looking at.
they are ok for training yea...really depends on your foot and how wide it is. Nike's tend to fit a skinnier foot...I think their best training show is the pegasus and I also like the asic kayanos
hey buddy, my best events were the 400 and 400 hurdles. But I literally almost did every single sprint even at one point or another. I'll list my PR's for you. 100 - 10.6 sec 200 - 21.3 sec 300H - 37.2 sec 400 - 46.6 sec 400H - 49.9 sec. I also long jumped 23 feet and triple jumped over 40 ft in high school :)
+Jaret Campisi I really appreciate the reply! The reason I wanted to know your PRs was because I wanted to see how far I was from being as great as you and whether I should be pushing myself harder than I already am.I really want to be like you in the near future; I want to run track in college and be as great as I can be. I've watched almost all of your videos, took a lot of notes, and have been doing your track lifting routine ever since the end of my track season. Believe it or not, but you are a role model to many people including me. Thank you Jaret and keep up the good work
right on man, I appreciate that and I'm flattered to be a role model for you guys. I just try to show what can be accomplished as a natural athlete if you work hard and train correctly. Keep up the good work man and thanks for the support :)
What would you recommend an aspiring decathlete do to prepare for a try out at the end of August? Right now I'm doing a lot of lifting, plyos, med ball throws, hill sprints and some temp runs.
Jaret Campisi I think creating videos about how to train for specific events would make a great series. What types of workouts to use, how to schedule them etc. There aren't many channels that I am aware of on youtube that really break down how to train for track and field, unlike all the lifting/"fitness" channels they have. Just some input
Yes that is very true and I agree with you. I'll be doing lots more track and field videos in the future so I'll start adding in more event specific work for sure. Right now I've been mainly trying to release track videos and workouts that pertain to the time of the season so that's why I've been doing off season workouts and stuff like that right now.
I use a philips body groomer. Highly recommend it. www.philips-store.com/store/catalog/shaving/shaving/norelco-bodygroom-3100-showerproof-body-groomer-series-3000/productdetail/BG2034_49_US_SHOPPUB/US/en/?_ref=ca-wtb&_refv=382831c1-eaf1-4e7f-88b1-402e37f9ed49
This workout will definitely help with your speed and power for short races. I've also got other sprint and acceleration workouts on my channel. Just search in the "Track and Field Playlist" and you'll find them :)
my vertical jump is way higher than all the other sprinters my age but I'm slighty slower how do I get faster even though I'm already quite explosive off the ground?
Another great video. Jaret you should check out the 1000 Rep lateral raise challenge video i uploaded to my channel and try it for yourself and see if you can get through it! It's a fun challenge.
so my season just ended and everyone is telling me to do some sprinting over the off season. idk if that's smart though shouldn't I just focus on getting stronger
yes your main focus should be on getting stronger in the gym. you could through in some sprints now and then but don't make that your focus and don't go any harder than like 75% effort level

yes it will help you be more explosive with any type of physical activity you're doing :)
For those thumb down people get out your rocking chair and start practicing with that--you're going to need it! The fast twitch muscles are the first to go when you get older.
Would you do this at the end of a speed development or acceleration day, Jaret or would you do it as a separate workout?
You could do it at the end of a speed day sure...it also works great as a stand alone workout if you want to really focus on the plyo's and getting as much out of them as possible.

For ur bounding u need to fix that up alot, u drive ur knee forward and hold it longer.
I think that sounds pretty good to me. Maybe through in some very light event specific tech work here and there as well 👍
Jaret Campisi Thanks for your input, you have a great channel, hoping to see it grow and improve with time.
thanks man I really appreciate that. Been putting in work to get this thing going and get quality content and entertainment out there for you guys :)
Hi Mate

+Jaret Campisi You reply faster than you run 😄
Thanks man!
do a video on speed for shorter races like 55m
This workout will definitely help with your speed and power for short races. I've also got other sprint and acceleration workouts on my channel. Just search in the "Track and Field Playlist" and you'll find them :)
alligator wrestler!?!? impressive... didn't know you did that in your free time
it helps pass the time lol
Do you wear the Nike Flyknit Racer ?
If yes ? Do you think it is a good shoe for track-training?
yes I do wear them, they are ok...just depends on what feels good to you honestly.
+Jaret Campisi Thank you for the quick feedback :)
hey bro i run a 10.6 in the 100m but i wanna run sub 10. What exercises helps me do this?
Does it also work for basketball?
hi jarret nice video.. how much days do this bounding in week for 100m?
1 to 2 times for in season training
Jaret Campisi i want to ask a question about sprint?
A little advise: record the dialogue before working out
alligator wrestler
I like it
No more track and field?
Hey Jaret if I buy a shirt does it come with a six pack?????? Hahahaahah jk;) I do pancake metrics!!! Haha
hahaha yes they do come with a six pack so you should def snag one before they are gone :)
Should I do some sprinting or accelerations after this workout ?
you could if you'd like sure, just don't over do it. I'm sore as shit from doing this yesterday...like my entire body. haha
La 'Playa' Stadium
whats the intro song
how do you progressively overload with this?
my vertical jump is way higher than all the other sprinters my age but I'm slighty slower how do I get faster even though I'm already quite explosive off the ground?
work on getting stronger in the gym and doing sprinting track workouts to help translate your explosiveness to the track and not just for jumping.
jarret 100m in 12.50 second if i do this jumps gor 3 months what my avwrage time of 100m?
Another great video. Jaret you should check out the 1000 Rep lateral raise challenge video i uploaded to my channel and try it for yourself and see if you can get through it! It's a fun challenge.
oh right on i'll have to check that out thanks man
Aligator wrestler hahaha!
Its a great way to get a workout in when you don't have any weights available. lol
Is the beneficial for training to dunk?
yes it will help you be more explosive off the ground which will lead to jumping higher
your bounding is funny
What is the intro song???
This is so wierd i saw this in my dream idk
what do you call the pants youre wearing?
running tights? you can shop the gear I wear here: www.rise.ca and you can use my code "jcamp10" at checkout to save yourself some cash :)
also teach the girl in the green shirt behind you that how to do a push-up.
so my season just ended and everyone is telling me to do some sprinting over the off season. idk if that's smart though shouldn't I just focus on getting stronger
he has a video about off season sprinting. but yea you should focus on getting stronger
yes your main focus should be on getting stronger in the gym. you could through in some sprints now and then but don't make that your focus and don't go any harder than like 75% effort level
