There must be a super-cycle coming for oil prices. I've got 27 years in the industry as a geophysicist and all I can say is that the 'conventional' large-scale, quality prospects are few and far between now.
I like the ARIS story and have been following it this year...my only concern is that they are guiding for consolidation in the sector and I see them as a buyer. Were they to experience a sell-off as SM did upon announcing a deal...I would likely be dip buyer.
What I am wondering is all about the triggering of the rights of 1st refusal. It is quite possible that if the court decides that it was triggered, the parties may not be able to go back, like it never happened. That would bring the interested parties down to 2, They would then have to figure what the percentage amount Guyana was to Hess. Remember that a high has already been established. Guyana could easily come down to only 2 parties.
If one buys into peak oil, how would the price drop off if there is no viable alternative to crude? I’m interested in learning more about the economic decline of whale oil. Seems like whale oil had more elasticity of demand compared to crude today and contributed to its decline. Any good book recommendation?
Dear Paul, thank you for your insight as always. I was wondering if you heard about the potential gas/oil reserve in the East Sea (Korea)? Initial estimates suggest the reserve could rival that of guyana’s (although more gassy). Would appreciate if you have any opinion on this!
We first started talking about Whale Oil in 2009 as we thought about the end of the oil age. US shale extended the peak and now we are talking about it again in 2004
*Re: NextDecade Corp.* Saudi Aramco's non binding (HoA) for a proposed 20 year term with NEXT appears sound with Wall Street? On another note, Tellurian still thinks it may have a second opportunity with Saudi Aramco if the NEXT relationship goes south? Regards -
Excellent company, excellent management, great placeholder holding in oil. But we are really not that bullish on oil. The supply problem is pretty chronic in our view

👀
aren't you finding that productivity on existing resource is soaring?

Love the shirt Paul. Thanks for the wrap
you must be a Brit
@@missunique65 haha not quite - a bit further south !
Thanks - terrific content as usual. Btw my work on water led me to $XYL. Great business - compounding machine. Enjoy LI.
Thanks it was mentioned in our water note in passing - included in PHO the water ETF

Yes it caused a sensation for a day and was basically nonsense
What about TPL? Besides oil royalties, also has water business in the Permians.
We wrote about it the other day - spiking on index inclusión. The CEO has not a lot to do (royalty company) and pays himself $6m a year
Sankey is going all in on whale oil and biomass. You heard it here first. We have yet to see peak whale oil!

ConocoPhillips came quite down, cheap entry point currently?

Hey Paul - have you heard of "Nasdaq Veles California Water Index Futures" on the CME? Liquidity is erm ... thin.
I have now! As noted there’s really no market and if you start one the government will screw it up
We need water traders like in Dune
Just got a mint first edition of dune - have not read. My son loved it
@@sankeyresearch it’s very good! Lots of parallels to oil. They even make plastic out of the spice.
Nothing on Guyana?
wonky shirt alert!- I fear there is a white belt and light blue polyester pants lurking below..the Miami Vice aviators don't help..cheers!
