  • Episode 4 of the Pilbara series - Chasing Adventure
    We spend 3 weeks exploring, 4WD'ing and camping in remote areas of Western Australia's Pilbara region in search of true adventure.
    In this episode we head off from Python Pool to make camp at George Gorge in a remote location of the Millstream National Park. The track starts to get a little wet, however the river beds are still dry as the storms closes in.
    We 4WD through some rocky river beds, only to find out we took the wrong track…. Back on route on the correct track and we wind ourselves into a spectacular gorge backdropped campsite! We couldn’t ask for anything more.
    Although we had forecast rain on the way, we had no idea what was in store….
    An early wake up the following morning revealed a river that was significantly higher than when we head swags! We move to higher ground and observe a powerful river flowing in full force and we are officially stranded, surrounded by cliffs and blocked off by a 2 meter high river.
    The rain continues to fall as we wait for the river to subside.
    We make the most of our time in the amazing part of the country and decide to hike/swim/climb to a nearby waterfall.
    We can’t say enough how fortunate we were to be able to be present in a area like this at the time we were, with the correct gear and supplies to get by comfortably.
    Join us as we travel these remote lands and discover what this area has to offer.

    Great to see you getting out there, as you say it’s when plans change that the trip becomes truly memorable. A tip, the Crashpad swag works great on one of their stretchers - super comfy, stays dry when the ground is sodden and easier to get in/out of. Mind you the swags haven’t seen much use since we got our TVAN ;-)

    • @XploringOz
      @XploringOz  2 года назад +2

      Absolutely, agree with you there mate!
      Yes, I have used stretchers before and I think I might go back to them for the single swag. The CrashPad was good, but certainly not perfect!
      I did enjoy the simplicity of a minimalistic setup though 👍
      How good are the TVAN's though! Couldn't believe how easily it conquered everything!

    Loving this series. Looms le you all had a ball, even though the water logged clths and bedding would have put a dampener on things for a few days. L9ve how you went hunting the waterfall to stave off the cabin fever..

    well done again Nathan .. i think that video is equal or better produced than Ronny's Ashburton trip when the river came up into their camp you do it very well ..your only problem you have set the bar high :) what a great part of the country that would have been very difficut to maintain moral duing that wet but it came across well i think you might have had a small smile on the your face at one stage there :) very looking forward to the last episode .
