Good day Nash. Interesting video. With only four gears it looks complactic, but u know with hand clutch u could leave in gear jump off tractor, jump back on pull hand clutch & u were off. We also had W-6, putting it in 3rd gear it would grind everytime , or sit & wait. Interesting. Next step Thanks

Thanks Don. It will be going back together in part 28. Yes that hand clutch sure made it nice to stop and go and it wasn't that complicated either. The newer styles can do the same but lots more parts and pressures required. Just like that 190xt in my other video's.

I ended up getting a real nice donor double bearing and bevel gear from another tractor for same issue. AGCO had them for $400 with shipping. Got the rear end for $80 and it had super tight gears and pinion gears in it.

Just have to make sure you are right on the size for the snap ring which I believe sets the thrust. But don't quote me on that. If I remember there are 5 different sizes with thousandths differences.

Interesting - do you think the bad bearings caused the noise?

Yes I believe so. It was also binding the drive train. When the drill was turning the PTO it was hard to notice but when I done it by hand I could feel it getting hung up. New bearing in hand and ready to be installed.

can you get the double bearing and race the last one we did on my sons 45 which was about 10 years ago the bearing were on back order with a 3 month waiting period and were expensive maybe an after market now makes them? the tractor also had the housing spit when bearing siezed old owner ran rear end out of oil put oil in it and tryed to move it and pop when the case so we got a complete trans and rear end with warranty and bolted it up and still going strong!!! my two cents worth l be watchin!!!!
