He has so much playability. There’s even a super jet mode that’s not in the instructions but used in the cartoon. So he can actually have a crazy 5 modes.
Just wow. By far one of the best figures to come out of G1. I can't believe it was never released in the US, but I suppose I should not be surprised it wasn't. Thank you Nagging Guy and Patriot Prime!
This is a Great Figure! But Patriot, you forgot one mode, on Vehicle mode, you extend the leg ports of the Jet and plug the Tank at it´s back. It creates a mega Flying Vehicle. He used it often in the Master Force Series! It would be cool if you could show it in one video before you return the toy!
What a shame we never got this beast in the states, it's easily one of the highlights of G1 and would have stood proudly against all of the Autobot giants.
Hi PP... One of your favorite characters. I'm surprised you didn't include the backstory of the character like you do with G1. Of maybe it's in your TR video of the character. I'll have to go re-watch that one too see. Great review!
I found him in 2006 or so for $500 in box with styrofoam. The tank attachment was broken and the box was ripped, but I loved him. In 2012 I had to sell my collection to pay off my credit card, but the truth was it had been getting way too big for me to manage anyway. I don't have the space you do. I'm so thankful for the memories. I was really lucky. Also, Mega is actually a woman. ;)
He is an awesome figure & 1 awesome center piece of my collection. I was looking internationally on eBay in the late 1990s/ early 2000s & scored 1 from Italy. The box looks sweet also. Thanks for doing this video sir! Somebody did a custom Cobra version of this guy as well- pretty slick! Again great video!
4:50 Sorry, but you’ve got the names backwards. Fantastic review as always! I’m considering picking up a G1 Overlord myself. A very cool figure with a lot of play and display value.
Man, this guy... really wish I could have it, but at those prices I would never be able to get him. Very awesome that you finally got a chance to fiddle around with an original Overlord. 🙂
@@PatriotPrimeReviews Must have been quite the big surprise. Honestly, it would be like me receiving a G1 Minerva from someone (I know it'll never happen, but one can dream 😆).
Awesome review Patriot! Overlord looks very impressive, shame we didn't have a chance at him here the states. Would absolutely love for Takara to reissue him like they did with Fort Max.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews He was the last G1 reissued Encore, I believe Fort Max was the last reissue Takara did with the exception of the G1 Optimus, the Walmart reissue and the Bumblebee movie Optimus Studio Series 2 pack from a few years ago. Would love to see more, hopefully we'll hear something soon.
He is a awesome guy. In the Japanese show Super God Master Force he is his own way killing everyone in his way. I like the IDW version of Overlord as a rival of Megatron show which cons will fit to lead the Decepticons. He is amazing thank you for the video review of SGMF/G1 Overlord.
At first just really seeing the jet mode, thought it was a recolor of Snapdragon or something. Man, my anxiety would of been on overload handling that figure. Props to the owner for keeping it in the condition that it is in and letting you use it, legend.
Hey guys I got one, my father bought it in Japan when I was a kid. Before this video I never thought it's rare and valuable. Mine missing a few element and decapitated. Any idea where to get spare parts?
I rememebr seeing Overlord in shops (I am in the UK) and could never afford one, that hasn't changed lol! However, a friend of mine did get one and we played about with that, loved the figure. The story has a sad ending though as he decided he was to old for TF and gave them to his little brother who trashed them all pretty quickly :( it was nice that we got something the USA didn't for a change though, you guys got a fair numberof G1 figures that we never saw (that trend has also never stopped and it's annoying many fans these days).
My greatest regret is I had a chance to get one incomplete it was missing one of the ramps and all the other radar/gun attachments but it was 60$. This was in 2000 so I was after more Gi-joes at the time, if I only knew we would have 3d printing to get the accessories and how much I would end up loving the toy and character lol. But that was the first time I had ever saw one
Man this would have been a fun fig to get back then. Wonder what the reason was why never was sent over here to the US. He is a beast of a con. Remember oh a few clips of Master Force with him in it. One oddly his . . . no thats a spoiler. I watched before going to work today but wasn't at full attention cause was getting ready. Making up now.
I have the 1993 version but only Mega Jet been looking for Giga tank and both masters so I can finish him. I bought it for $20 just because it was so large and wanted to finish finding the rest of his pieces. This is a very very large toy for something so old.
@Polybius Unknown ehh I managed to, and like I said I've seen him pop on ebay for around that price mostly complete in good condition, they don't last long on ebay tho
@Polybius Unknown I agree. The last one that popped up on ebay for under $500 was last year and I think it was in Germany. You can find them for a decent price but not very often. It was easier to find one about 5 or 6 years ago but he has gained some traction.
I got a mint, complete with box Italian Version at Botcon 2001 for a steal. Space is needed and it may go. I'll hit you up. I appreciate your service! That will factor in if it goes.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews good deal! Mine also shipped the 16 so I should get it today or tomorrow. I’m in Fayette Co. right by the New River Gorge Bridge, if you know where that is?

Here we have 3 types of greatness: the greatness of who lend you the figure, the greatness of the figure itself and the greatness of this good video

I researched the figure before shooting and just decided to leave it out because it was just over lord lying down with the nosecone attached.
@@PatriotPrimeReviews Oh Yeah... You are right. In the series looked so cool! But when you put it that way it sounds pretty lame... HAHAHA!!!
@@diegos7337 I’ve done a video on my channel and included that mode if you’d like to see it
Overload was also released in Australia in the late 80s
Good to know, thanks.
Overlord was also released there back then if I remember correctly
And Europe. His Powermaster partners were called "Energon figures", with no mention of him being a Powermaster.
i wish they did the slide out fists on the modern figures. It'd solve a lot of the problems with hollow forearms.
I agree with you 100% on that.
I actually mentioned that in my ss86 Grimlock Review (not finished yet).
Such an amazing figure! After this you're gonna be SCOURING the internet to get your own!
Already been doing it. 😁
Thanks for watching my man.
Hooah!!!
