I use my Major as a chore tractor. I completely rewired it to modernize it and get rid of a bugger electrical issues. Mine has a key switch, I added LED lights, and went to an alternator for charging so it has a voltage meter instead of an ammeter now. Super handy tractor for mowing, blading, spreading manure, pushing snow, and pulling wagons. Always starts even in the cold, better than even some gas tractors of the era.
My kit came with a gear on the pump instead of the pulley. Wondering if you can post closer more clear pictures of how you fabricated the pump on. Thanks!
We have a 1956 Fordson Major with the same dash. Want to add tacho .But there seems to be 3 different places to connect cable to: Back of generator, back of injector pump or in front of injector pump. Where have you connected your cable to? Maybe you could do video please? Ivan.

Despite their age they still go really well for your everyday tractor chores
