Nitecore does not uses flat top batteries, because they are unprotected.
It's safer. Correct me if I'm wrong.
Therefore I do not advise people to use mods with tiny magnets on the top of the battery. Pretty bad idea.

What is the difference between using 2 cr123s and 1 18650?

Capacity! CR123A cell top out 1500mA hours, while 18650 max out around 3600mah. Can't beat the run time!

Maybe you should check out the lights from ROFIS too. They give you all three options. Headlight, worklight and EDC. www.rofislight.com/home/
