Absolutely love the added footage at the end when you meet the bus. Shows that what you do is controlled and you don't take stupid chances when shooting your videos.
I want to start doing more outtakes again. That was terrifying though. I don't even know how that bus fit up on that road. I guess even the bus drivers are race car drivers.

Holy shit, what a machine. The sound of this V8 is absolute eargasm to me. Funny fact, I find myself leaning my head toward my open window to hear my side exit exhaust more. Damn, this is such a cool car. I think carbon ceramics wouldn’t be practical on the car for daily driving, but if you were tracking it, I think you’d need them to stop the 4,500 lbs over and over again without losing brake pressure, or without overheating the brakes by accident.
The suspension must be very finely tuned to the weight of the car. It’s a bit older, so body roll is to be expected, but it helps the car handle so precisely, as well as the steering to be so precise in those turns. The vectoring differential must make a HUGE difference in the power distribution during even straight line acceleration.
The acceleration was insane. You were even surprised at how fast it was. I was too, like holy shit. The way this car sounds is immensely much greater than most V8s I’ve heard. I never really looked at this car the way I do after this video, so thank you for that. Now, the acceleration did bring up a key issue I’d like to address. See, I’m not a big fan of VAG (Audi/VW) limiting their motors, even in their RS models, to shift BEFORE REDLINE. My Passat used to do that, and it makes so much more power in redline than it did before. The RPM limiter holds back so much potential the car could have, and its sad they do that. I understand maybe it’s to get the engine to last longer, but if I’m driving a RS, I’m driving it to go fast, then get rid of it and buy a new one, not to keep it for a long ass time. I love the car, but keeping the engine from taking in a full breath is terrible. You are less in the power band the whole acceleration with the RPMs limited like that. I don’t understand why they do this.
The way it looks is so aggressive, and I don’t mind analog gauges and small screen displays, or none at all either. I’m old school when it comes to that, as long as the interior looks nice. The exterior looks great too, and the Avant is a rare sight in our country.
It seems like a very practical car. I enjoyed watching it drive.
Also, careful in those blind corners haha! Damn that must’ve been close and that would’ve been a lot of $$$ if you would’ve hit something

Yeah, one of the best sounding exhausts you can get in a 4 door car, IMO. I really enjoyed all the pops and bangs. You'd think that it'd be better for track driving, but it's only good until you need to replace them. And then it'll cost you an arm and a leg. On the Z06, all the track guys often opt for the steel rotors because they are cheaper to replace each season. Same goes for the CCB's, we swap them out for steel rotors and put the CCB's back on for resale.
To be honest, I didn't even realize that this car had the torque vectoring diff until I did a little more research. But comparing it to the other heavy hitting cars I've driven, this is by far the best. I feel like it handles better than the S5 I drove last month, and that car is like 700# lighter.
Don't even get me started with the straight line acceleration. The numbers don't seem that fast, but the way it feels when the boost hits makes it feel very much like that Stage 2 TTRS that I tested. It's like this "oh shit" feeling in first and second gear because you have the traction with all the power. So to address your question, I'm not sure it's that way with their turbocharged platforms. See, the reason I do the full manual runs is so that I can see what happens if I shift at redline instead of whatever the computer proposes. In both cases, the RS6 and the TTRS, both cars shifted slightly earlier than the limiter, but where both significantly faster because of that. I think for turbo cars, it keeps the boost in the band longer.
My wife asked me, right after our trip to Spain, what my favorite car I've driven since the start of this channel was. And my answer was undoubtedly this RS6 Performance. And if you asked me this again right now, the answer is still the same (and I just drove my friend's Huracan today). I really can't wait to see what the next gen RS6/7 will bring us. That is probably the Audi I will own for sure.

Track Day TV oh so it keeps the boost in the boost band. That makes sense, but with some tuning and custom performance mapping, you could probably get the boost and the RPMs to hold further.

He was getting it delivered today, so he wanted me to come hang out and experience it with him. Same fella with the R8 V10 I tested, but he traded it in for the Huracan. I joked with him saying how he traded his V10 R8 for a fancier V10 R8. 😄😄
Track Day TV haha that’s interesting. The new R8 looks absolutely insane though. Personally, I would’ve traded in the bubbly looking R8 for the 2020 one 😉. But hey, Lamborghini is Italian performance at its greatest, so I can’t blame him at all!
100% Agree. I think the facelifted R8 V10 looks like a beast. But seeing both cars next to each other today, I feel like it's like choosing between two beautiful women. The Lambo just has that cool name factor, but if I'm honest, I feel like they are getting overplayed now. Every exotic car meet I go to has more Lambo's than most other brands and I feel like they are losing their sheen.

So I Watched this and the directors cut version back to back. And I have to say I enjoy this style much more. It's so different than most other channels and it def sets you apart from the rest. Not saying the other one is bad, just saying this is what you should be doing. Just my two cents tho. Keep it up!
I almost cried! We want sporty station wagons back in US! Golf R Variant, Rs6 avant, Subaru Legacy wagon with turbo engine, etc... but sadly, people seems to prefer suv instead of sedans, coupés and wagon.
SUV's suck tbh. Less practical than wagons, worse to drive etc.
ykhs but a real suv have a higher ground clearance. But what we call suv is juste a lifted car like the subaru crosstrek or the honda hrv. I agree with you, i’d rather have a roomy and fun car than a suv that handles like jello beacause of the high center of gravity. And my 2011 jetta is on h&r lowering springs and i dont rub anywhere, and if i want to go offroad, i’ll take a bike or a quad, and in the snow, a snowmobile. Anf if there’s a big snowstorm, i’ll stay home and be safe rather than trying to be cool with my suv.

How I love living in Europe and having the posibility of owning anything as long as I can afford it, even all jdm cars. No dumb restrictions, no homologations etc. This is why I can also import any car from US 😁.
Well you do have to pay a road tax I believe, which is correspondent to your engine size (?), I'm not exactly sure how it all works.

Thanks! I also feel that way. I don't know if it's the car, the scenery, or just the trip in general, but I feel like I put in more effort than usual for this one. However, I think it may be my last review like this for a while. It takes a lot of work and I would like to take it easy for a little bit. I'm going to be experimenting with a few different styles and formats in the coming weeks.

You've got to love it, the next RS6 has a lot to live up to as this model is now slowly becoming iconic and the standard for for big estate ( Wagon ) cars. It's like the high jump you have to outdo your personal best and beat the every one else's to make people want to stick with the Audi brand.

Thank you! I'll try to get an Alfa Giulia QV soon, but it's hard enough to get that car as it is, so I think a manual version would be impossible unless I go back to Europe. Rumor has it that soon they will bring the RS6 Avant to the US, so fingers crossed for that car.

The new all digital dashboard RS6 is amazing. Beats most supercars dead. Best car ever made as it really can do it all. You can sleep in it with the rear seats down n obviously a decent blow up mattress. I’ve had 6s since my first one in 2008 n tried when buying another car to find something better but I can’t. That’s the trap u fall into. My advice is to buy a slightly used one with maybe no more than 2k on the clock. It will b half price n I would of put that 2k on the clock in a month if I’d bought it new so saving myself 60k easily by doing that.

The RS7 is a really underrated car in the US. Not many people have them and they also have a ton of mod potential.

Those shifts are ridiculously fast at 5:51. Like pdk fast. I always thought these were a dual clutch, along with the RS7 but was shocked when I found out they’re autos. Wouldn’t be surprised if these shifts are quicker than an auto hellcat or the f90 m5.
Yeah, it is definitely faster than the auto Hellcat I drove. I can't comment on the F90 M5 yet, but I will try and find out soon!

This was a car rental while I was in Spain. I ordered a regular RS6, they gave me the M850i for a day because the RS6 wasn't available, and then they gave me an RS6 Performance. It was a dream come true.
I was going to ask the same question. Where would you rent from to get a car like this? My wife and I are just vacationing in France, Germany, and Italy and seeing some roads that would be great for a car like this.

I did 100-200kmh in 7,6 in a stock RS6, 9 is too bad
60-130MPH and 100-200KPH are two different things. We did 8.02 seconds in this stock RS6 for the 100-200km/h. Keep in mind the times are corrected to sea level for density altitude and slope verified to under 0.5% of a grade. These two variables can account for a lot.

E63S and M5 get 3.3 seconds in 0-60, Audi is lacking
look how low down the leaderboard the M2 comp is. Can't seem M5 doing much better
I would expect a better 0-60 from Audi as well, but 60-130 tells a bigger story IMO. But you're right, for $120K, I think the RS6 should be much faster than the F10 M5 but it's really about the same acceleration. The new F90 M5 would be faster than this RS6 Performance though.
Its years newer so obviously the new E63 and M5 are a little faster to 60. The new one is going to suprise alot of people just like this generation did. BTW the Stage 2 APR kit has this car in the low 10's for 1/4 mile.
I know a guy with a Stage 2 RS7 and he supposedly runs a mid 7 second 60-130. I would love to race it with my Z06 from a roll (from a dig I'd get smashed).
@@SpeedLabsMotorEnvy APR crushes the game when looking at Tuned Audi's. My S4 stage 2 is 3.7 0-60 and I keep up with C6 Z06's from a roll till we hit 120mph then they start to pull away. It's a great family car that's fast. It surprises alot of people
