- Well come to the Audi RS6 Performance. A near 600bhp, 2 Tonne family estate which can pulverise really fast Sports Cars on the Road. I have the keys to go out for a hoon and this particular is running 730BHP!! Remap.

I love that Sid isn’t afraid to thrash the literal crap out of cars and drive them for what they’re built for.
In a way, this car is a sleeper at stock. To the non-enthusiasts/everyday Joe's eyes, this car would just be your above average station-wagon that looks sleeker and sounds louder than the rest. They might not even acknowledge the badge that is Audi or the Racing-Sport division this car comes from. Imagine being able to have such a sleeper status in a vehicle that carries the whole family. In my opinion, it's one of the best cars in the world at this present moment.

They are not that bad on fuel. I average 21mpg yes its single figures if you boot it which I do I have seen 28 mpg on a run. I just sold my X5 M50D which was a nice car but still only averaged 24 mpg and that is a 3 litre diesel so the RS6 considering the performance is amazing
The best word that describe this RS6 is SPACESHIP 🚀. Please to say it's not an Understeering mess either 👌🏽.

There is nothing in its class that performs better than the RS6 ! And very sleeper and looks very suttle !

RS6 is cool but the E63 S and M5 are faster but more importantly: better "drivers cars" for sure.
Jort Rinket the newer e63s and m5 and newer than this. Wait for the new gen rs6/7 then you can talk.

The B5 edition was from 1999-2001 pretty old with only 224 bhp kinda a dog to today’s standards

Sid firstly I love your podcasts and the way you conduct yourself with honest views about each car you drive. Do us all a favour and challenge the plastic racing driver Archie Hamilton to a proper race. He can only go fast in a straight line that’s about it, going round corners he wets his pants. He was in a McLaren last week with a bit of wet & touch of frost on the ground and he drove like a pensioner, put him to the sword Sid and show him how to drive and this will make your subs go through the roof.

Nice review thanx. This car is already a legend. The best point to point all weather super car you can buy. Also the argument that Audis understeer is becoming redundant and a bit boring Its true to say all the manufacturers are now using electric steering that means they are all numb and for manufacturers its increasingly about quickness and accuracy. No amount of electronic intervention will recreate mechanical feel. Motor Journalist are getting left behind and are making too many assumptions. So BMW M's are getting long over due AWD and lets face it they needed it as the last M5 was appalling and Audi are probably getting the next Gen cinfigurable Quattro its now getting so close on handling it comes down to design and build and that's where BMW and Merc are lagging behind Audi. Add to the discussion that Audi are moving away from the shared family look to more distinctive model differences which is going to force the other two German marques to do the same. Its getting exciting out there.

Why would you option the heated steering wheel over the flat bottomed
I never understand why it dosent come with carbon ceramic as standard it’s a serious problem with the rs6 because it’s so heavy the steel brake disc (rotors) warp also I don’t see why Audi make the r8 it’s pretty over rated when you consider the rs6

Wanted to add that the flat bottom wheel doesn't have heating, I would prefer the flat bottom wheel but honestly the heating is so worth it during winter :) If they introduce the heating in the flat bottom wheel I would definetly spec that.
That model came out 2011.. no where near 4 years old haha. Shows the quality of the interiors...

Still take the Mercedes AMG 63S or the BMW M5 over the Audi RS 6
They just fall short. In all areas when I was looking at new cars I test drive the RS 6 it was eliminated right a way. The AMG was ok a little bit raw, I ended up buying the BMW M5 as it was the most refined of the 3 and other reasons.

Actually Bani after 20yrs plus I left BMW for Porsche, I traded in my F90 M5 for 991.2 Turbo S and recently I traded that in for a 992
Turbo S. That being said , Audi’s
just come up short to higher end cars like BMW and Mercedes, it’s not , I’m not a fan but without mods Audi’s are a non-Contender
