yes you can substitoad with a full field, its like nibiru on a full field, the effect clears up a zone in the process so its a legal activation
And tributing with Substitoad is a cost

"You can Tribute 1 monster to Special Summon 1 "Frog" monster from your Deck, except "Frog the Jam". "Frog" monsters, except "Frog the Jam", cannot be destroyed by battle."
It has not recieved its PSCT, and if you remember "Do X action TO do X action" is a cost. Its why Skill Drain was a side deck option for frogs back in the day, cuz Substitoad tribute was a cost.

@@1Uik1 so in the OCG its a cost, but in the TCG its an effect to tribute? Sure. I literally played Skill Drain Frogs, it was ruled Substitoad was a cost.

cooked? Nah that was chef's kiss. I have 2 water decks, ice barriers and icejades and I loved seeing new combos. Especially with tidal out now, awesome video

Nice deck & combo, might be trying this out when I complete the deck, seems very fun.
Combo pretty tight. In the first combo, u can summon tidal back from gy and never have tribute moulin for a toad. Also god damn, i love these clean max rarity cards, im so jelous! Its awesome
Tidal is only 1 effect per turn and we did the foolish burial effect

a few somewhat related techs this vid reminded me of:
- Mermail abysspike search marincess sea horse
- tidal dump testudo/water barrier/marincess names (sea horse, sleepy maiden, blue tang) for use with coral anemone.
- Aqua argonaut equipped with a link via battle ocean OR sleepy maiden grave eff for a spell/trap negate and attack magnet protecting water barrier
Until rage of the abyss likely gives us support, argonaut is a huge payoff for non-spright builds and tidal helps to bridge the gap between engines.
Wasn't a smooth build before, but with tidal (soon to be) at 3, it's on my radar

To answer your question, yes you' can use Substitoads effect even if you have all five Main Monster Zones occupied.^^

I was curious if Tidal would bring you back Shire. Glad to see content from you again!
Some thoughts, how would running the full armor xyz line be? Since you end on a empty bahamut shark in the first combo, you could setup a monster attach too with some really funny followup and go second otk lines.
(Especially since the big full armor effects are all sOPT which makes it have really funny synergy with world sea dragon)

I have so much to say:
1. Don’t have abyssshire Atlantean combo video on my bingo card, but I’m here for it!
2. Also remember that new fishborg card comes out next set for some more crazy water shenanigans
3. If you have called by and/or minstrel, hand traps mean nothing 😎
4. Although 3 toadally is bonkers, it’s also super suceptible to super poly which is kinda scary
5. I love that tidal makes this deck usable. Still not competitively viable but usable at least

I main mermails, I love this deck lol. Nice to see other people still playing it. I only play on Master duel and swap frog is at 1 if I'm not mistaken, and I think totally awesome is banned LoL. Cool deck though. Guitar is pretty bad ass too, you should check him out. You can summon him with diva to go into some cool synchro plays that allow to summon prince as well. I need that link card you have that allows you to summon the 2 cards, one from your hand and one from your gy. I need more UR points to craft it😅😂

The only problem out of that first combo is that getting rid of Moulin keans you lose a battle phase and effectively have to stay alive for two turn before you can try to swing for game

Can't wait till mirror magic master is released,swap frog 1 card toadally(so diva is easier to resolve)that also opens synchro plays sounds fine,only negative thing is freezing chains that is basically a second mizuchi. With tidal i think launcher can actually come back,and launcher plus nepty plus a lvl7 means trishula. Since baronne is gone chengying plus gymir(you can easily summon one of them with Ran and a water monster)is a good going first combo along with some negates. Hope we get something from rage of the abyss as well,like a mermail synchro or a more consistent way to search teus without being obliged to play small world.

End board with 3 omnis? Im impressed , i thought they put barrone and boreload on the banlist XD. This deck looks like a lot of fun 10/10! Id like to see more banishing in a future decklist (i paid for the whole playmat) something like "lekunga" can help you link spam if you hate fun , also i might be wrong but i dont think you used a feild spell , they can realy boost your power.

there arent other easy to summon good water boss monsters, tear doesnt count, they are darks in disguise

the question would be the strongest right now - or at one point relative to other cards etc. there are of course many good water monsters over the years.
From the Ice Barrier Synchros - Tidal - Norden - Nekroz - Frogs+Toads - Water Enchantress - Gameciel - to name some examples; now what is strongest besides being a Tear card?
Tough question... is it being a staple in many decks - being a card that people "build decks" around - is it being the best card of a high Tier meta deck - idk cards are not all the same, but Tidal on his own was not what made Rulers so op - he is one of the stronger ones sure - but its the entire Gang together that was so oppressive and fun.
As such I dont think hes the strongest Water Monster. Out of all of these only Norden is banned, while the frogs have all kinds of things going on - banned + limited... Nekroz has been power creeped - does that matter yes/no?
@@b4sh936 Tear is under the water -> the literally dive into the grave; clearly have fins, look at our home planet its all water, even water in the sky.
And sure there are cards like Aegirine or Chengying or Number 4, Dweller 💀and I am sure the Armored Sharks have something, tho idk as I have not looked at them yet. And its not about not making toad but 3...

you should try the new ice barrier stuff with this when it comes out, it can do some crazy stuff
could you do hand loop things with martial metal marcher and trishula, with deep sea anemone plus tidal it seems like it should be somewhat easy to get the required bodies
If you play more frogs and want to take the first combo as far as it can go, one of the toads can be in the extra monster zone and then you dupe lock at the same time.

You cooked. Gonna take this and run with it adding Icejade Ran, and more importantly, Fishborg Harpooner (+ 3x Abyss Shark to search it). Maybe try to find a way to consistently get to 1 copy of barrier statue + protection
