Shastock Ee-Mo-Ye Mute

Most people who play vintage jazz and Broadway shows are familiar with the Shastock Solotone mute as they’re the standard for the sound in those instances. However one of the many different mutes they produced is a variation of the Solotone called the Ee-Mo-Ye.
I picked this and one more up a couple years ago now and finally finshed this one which which just sold to a buyer in China. It was REALLY rough and was almost thrown away by the previous owner. The top half is just like the Solotone but the bottom half has a different design as pictured. I have included two videos of how a Solotone and this mute sound in comparison. The Solotone is a long overdue restoration for someone else.
The last one of these that was up for sale on eBay in unrestored condition went for north of $700. Others previously have sold for less. Because there are so few out there it’s hard to put a number on.
