I always remember my dad talkin to these guys a lot back then, never knew who they were, just thought they were just some guys that hung out together. Then I went to my first concert and they were there, thats when I found out they were a band. Turns out my dad is longtime friends with these guys, since they were teens.
They aren't really a Christian band. They're a band of Christians if you know what I mean. They've said in interviews that they don't want to be heavy handed with their faith and that they want their music to be for everyone. That being said their faith is definitely in their music but in a subtle way, which I think is the best way to go about it
@@CynicalMartian it’s a shame they are like that because you can’t be subtle when it comes to following Jesus. It will cost you and we want bold leaders to lead a generation who are lost and on their way to hell because they don’t know Jesus. I love this song and when I do perform this song I will let folks know that we are indeed meant to live for something more than just this world. All this world can offer you are lies and broken promises. But if we put our faith in trust in Jesus Christ he will fill us and give us the desires of our heart.
@@BrooklynBaby100 i don’t call myself a Christian. I call myself a follower of Christ. Folks have watered down the definition of what it means to be a Christian
Still my favorite Switchfoot song, Everytime I hear it, it brings me back to being 14 again. Hearing this live is such an amazing experience. Just being able to see Switchfoot live period is an amazing experience.
the guys just look and sound like they are having a blast at these sessions. real garage band sound and not the software thank you!!. GREAT live mixes!!!.
This is a very fun song to play though. I've been playing this since highschool as well. It's just simple yet powerful riff that that gets you pickup and just have fun for a minute.
I met them at their free concert and i brought my squier strat hoping they would sign it and they did! Got to talk with them and they encouraged me to keep practice and where genuinely happy i brought my guitar so they could sing it. They are really awesome people.
k.. this makes me want to learn a song i once ignored... you guys gave it more flavor here...... even if you let go of the bed and release....... so famous for... put that in.. and this is king....
Sir, I didn't want you to take it as if I "snapped at you." But I was stating a fact. All is good, because we all appreciate their music and listen to Switchfoot!
I notice it too but in close up shots you can see him sweating. Must have been toward the end of a long set. Either that or it is just a style thing since after you play a song for years you start to experiment out of boredom lol
It's kinda understandable though. The band is kinda old for who they are. They still put on a great performance, like you said, and at least they put effort into playing. =D
Wow I never knew David Wilcock sang... I mean I heard him mention on Coast to Coast AM that he sang just a little bit as a hobby but holy crapola.. The lead singer of Switchfoot I'd say that's a little more than a hobby David....
Alright, first off, there's no reason to snap at me.......All I meant was that the band is been around for a long while...I never said their old stuff was better than new, or vice versa. They're a great band in general, so chill out.
Anyone have the performance of dark horses from this show? Not the acoustic one -- the electric version. They always played a clip of it on the Audience network when I watched the show Damages...can't find it anywhere :|
Old for who they are? Not really. Jon is 35. Oldest is Jerome he is around 45. All of them besides Jerome are under 40's mark. and his voice is better than ever. It just has this very slight rasp in it from singing since he was a little kid. Compare the new album recordings to one of the first 4 albums. His "Singing" voice has matured and grown in presence compared to Learning to Breath. Listen for example to Restless and compare that voice to Learning to Breath. It's def better now than then.(:
Not really, it's still the original trio of guys, plus the two others that joined along the way, the most recent being 2003, but nobody has ever left the band
Quite possibly Foreman is sick. He seems out of breath and voice is very thin compared with other live performances. BEsides that, everybody has their off days.

These guys changed Christian music forever and are continually inspiring a whole generation of musicians.

@@ChristIsKing_ Well… idk if you’ve heard of The Crusades… but labeling yourself as “A Christian” is more harmful than good.

Absolutely they are not.
Hit's so different when you liked the song as a kid and grew up and matured enough to understand it..
My son plays guitar in the band Allison Roads and they open for them tonight!! Can't wait.
Oh that intro riff!! I will love it no matter what. The live setup sounds so great!
Still my favorite Switchfoot song, Everytime I hear it, it brings me back to being 14 again. Hearing this live is such an amazing experience. Just being able to see Switchfoot live period is an amazing experience.
All the guitars sound awesome!

2024 🤟🎸
Live song!
I see what you're talking about, but I think it's more of a style thing as to why he makes himself sound that way.
2023 and back listening this song again
I remember my oldest brother show me this official video, and it was spiderman 2 soundtrack
It's kinda understandable though. The band is kinda old for who they are. They still put on a great performance, like you said, and at least they put effort into playing. =D

It's a sin that the intro riff is blocked out with pictures.......

I did believe.no more.ty for taking our money 🤑
I cannot believe it’s 2020 fuck fuck fuck
wow....the video starts with awesomeness and then I get trolled into watching an ad -__-
Not really, it's still the original trio of guys, plus the two others that joined along the way, the most recent being 2003, but nobody has ever left the band
play this in 360 p and play the some in 720 p .. a diferent song ;)
I hate how I can’t see the intro being played in these videos
Don't know what that looks like, he looks perfectly fine and I can assure you he's not on crack...
there are 4 in tdwp
Quite possibly Foreman is sick. He seems out of breath and voice is very thin compared with other live performances.
BEsides that, everybody has their off days.
guess you're right. just watched 3 seasons of breaking bad today so I take it back lol
lead guitar use P-90s on the neck ??
nope. They added the keyboard player in 2001, and another guitar player in 2005.
Axe fx spotted!
