I remember the first time this song aired on the radio, the radio dj said " such a nice song". He's correct and it's just a phenomenal tune, still listening in 2024.
@@cliffordreynolds1835 Hi Clifford, Yes it was. We shot the water shots, in the Olympic Swimming Pool, at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. The living room was on a giant crane, where it was slowly submerged into the pool, which created the water (ocean) coming up through the floor. We had a huge electrical umbilical cord of wires attached to the crane for all the water lights. I was in the pool diving down, focusing lights. The filming when the band was playing on top of the house floating in the ocean was on the back lot of Universal Studios Falls Lake. The video was shot in two nights. That was a good one. :-)
Yes! A song written on piano or acoustic guitar tend to have more longevity. Why? Because you dont need special effects to play it on the spot. Love this song.
Great song, I wish they would have got bigger, they are a very talented band. I was 35 when I first heard this song and I'm in my fifties now and still love it!
I love that he didn't simp out and remove the higher notes from the acoustic version. So many bands do that. The goo goo dolls did an acoustic version of 'Iris' where the chorus should be an A4 they did it a full octave down (Which is basically the verse) ..Or Foo Fighters' Everlong same deal. Then again, you might wind up with a 'Puddle Of Mudd' 'About a Girl' fiasco..
Kills me that groups like this disappear from the radio, meanwhile it's the same poppy shit over and over again. This is talent, no help from technology!
There are so many digital effects in the industry that until you see a live performance like this, you almost can't appreciate how great a band truly is!
Tears in my eyes. Incredible song thats super meaningful to me. I remember being 11 and recording it on my tape on the radio crying my eyes out. Rough times. Much better now but this songs takes me right back and I’m sure that kid would be super happy where he is now.
Just heard this on the radio. I was like Omfg they're playing this!!?? Came home and directly put it on. And looked for a live version this was impressive. Brings so many memories back.
Damn his voice sounds so good. Pretty damn close to the studio version. This is one of the songs growing up in the 90s that stuck with me, some of these are so close to my heart simply because it reminds me of my childhood.
Couldn't have said it better myself. Who would thought the songs like this we'd listen to on MTV while getting ready to ride the bus to school would turn out to be more than just a song.
Are you kidding??? It sounds like TRASH lmfao WHAT??? like the album?! You might wanna listen to the album again... doesn't sound ANYTHING like this. They use SO much FX in the album track. Which is okay but it's just a fact Also what you're hearing here is HARMONIZING... And it still sounds flat Actually this makes me feel like I could have been a singer.... I can ALMOST sing this good (minus the falsetto highs). It's amazing what auto tune cab do
I'm afraid I beat you for age. I remember this song and video from 1999 (? on MTV), bought the CD with all the different versions on it and still listen to it in 2024. I'm in my mid 70's!
It came out when I was 17 and in high school. Can’t get over this version. This song has been on my mind all day. I never really understood it as I do today.
OK... I'm not the only one, I listened to this song when I was about fifteen and I never knew the name until now that I'm 33...I was driving and listening to the radio and they played it. So I could see the name of the song ...
Rally great cover. Been getting right back into filter. Singer here hits the midrange perfect and has the exact grit in the voice in the right parts. Great harmonies too
Filter just played the opener for the Rob Zombie / Alice cooper show in Charlotte a few weeks ago. We had no idea they were there until we noticed the Merch tents had a plain black Filter T for sale. I have seen them now 3 times since the 90's and it was again a GREAT set! they still sound exceptional and aging gracefully. Highly recommend "Go See" if you get the chance.
I remember the first time this song aired on the radio, the radio dj said " such a nice song". He's correct and it's just a phenomenal tune, still listening in 2024.
It's got a magical feeling.
The girl next door
Yes. I was in school and can remember well when it first came out
@@georgememafu5184 we gotta be similar in age, 84 baby (39)
Its the time when a high school girl got a crush on me: a 1st Year College dude.😅
I still love this song so much. It’s a part of my soul. Thanks for writing it singing it getting it out here. It’s important to me this song. ❤❤❤
Was part of the lighting crew that shot the original video to this epic song. Great memories.
nice!
That must have been cool. The water, and whatnot.

Girl Next Door brought me here. Great scene with a beautiful song.
Best live version of this song I've found!
Check out NateW101 he sings it amazingly
Absolutely it is, agreed!
Don't get why they don't do it accoustic live at their concerts as it was in the studio recording
love this song, sounds PERFECT acoustic. Rare find
Yes! A song written on piano or acoustic guitar tend to have more longevity. Why? Because you dont need special effects to play it on the spot. Love this song.
Remember when this played on girl next door soundtrack.. Damn! Time flies😢
That fender acoustic almost completely drowned out that gibson jumbo. I've never understood why people always say fender don't make good acoustics.
Beautiful guitar playing, rhythm, vocals and such a well composed song. Chord progressions are so extraordinary ly good..
still listening 2022 my fav song
We aren’t teenagers anymore but we still need these songs!
Great song, I wish they would have got bigger, they are a very talented band. I was 35 when I first heard this song and I'm in my fifties now and still love it!
same here, you old bastard
Did you know his brother is the villain in Terminator 2? I had no idea they were related.
I first heard the song in "The girl next door" movie. Fell in love immediately ❤
Takes me back to being 16-17 years old all over again :)
Yes! Now im 32 and back in the days I was 16 when listen this song for the first time
Hell yeah!
true...
Still can't believe what this song is about. Makes it that much better.
The T-1000's brother sure is a great singer.
+Rory Parent lmfao
He might be a T-5000!
Rory Yeah. I like dat.
Enjoyed the comment as much as the song. 😆
Holy shit! They're brothers?
One of the best songs of all time
I absolutely love his voice

Probably because they can’t hit the notes anymore. Pretty sure if Filter were to do this now, you’d see the same thing.
Looking forward to seeing them at Sonic Temple 2023
Limewire was that OG cd sales killer
Napster did it first
Miss 90s ,amazing and awesome era 100%
The Golden days of MTV. I can’t believe I’m 41 years old. 📺
Im 37 bro.. i miss the good old days when butthurt wasnt even a thing :)
I'm exactly 41 myself. We lived it man! I could cry.

Its cuz they sold out and became those shitty pop artists
This is like Filter's poppiest song lol

And then you got dummies that comment about the appearance of the guitarist. School yard bitches. Who cares what they look like. Raw talent
Great stuff. This is a wonderful moment.

Fuck yeah
**cough cough bts billie eilish modern rap**
When you have no one to turn to, music is there. When there's no one to take your picture I will. Just to remember that you're not alone.
There are so many digital effects in the industry that until you see a live performance like this, you almost can't appreciate how great a band truly is!
The guitarist on the right looks like the love child of Anthony Kiedis and Lou Ferrigno.
I'm smelling what you're stepping :)
Nailed it, brother!!!
What about the guitarist from the left.
Is that same bloke with blonde hair on recent videos?
Add the percussionist on the left looks like river cuomos
... And Fred Gwynne :-)
This song is breezing to my soul
