      Lord of Thunder ,thank You mate:) its good Idea but you must know that ST1100 is very heavy so before you buy it first try is it suitable to you,you must have a seat on ST:)

    Some very important bits when you are working on an ST 1100, be sure to use a JIS Japanese industrial standard screwdriver on the carburetors so that you do not strip out the screw heads on the fuel bowls. Do not open the top of the carburetors unless you are replacing a diaphragm otherwise you might end up ripping a diaphragm. The bike will start but will not run properly until you put the airbox on and assemble it with the air cleaner. Good job!

    Man , you got me good. With the bike running and the music I first thought the bike was making that sound of the beat of the music. That was funny. Norman.

    I’ve worked on 25+ ST1100’s so far and unfortunately in most cases problems (if any) with these machines is the previous owner who neglected the bike. These bikes are almost indestructible if maintained property

    A job well done. If this bike had a previous owner, then he did a bad job of taking care of it. My ST 1100 has 77,000 miles on it and its in much better condition.

    mine did this after standing for a few months, the fuel was dead and it knackered the plugs, I bought new NGK plugs from EBAY only to find they were Chinese copy's after a lot of messing about with a misfire.. I put in genuine NGKS and some Redex fuel system cleaner and it worked just fine after a good run.. Conan

    good stuff but I was hoping for a bit more of a look at the carb removal process. Guessing it's just keep removing things until they come out in your hands... Viva!

    How turns did you come out on the pilot screws on your ST1100, The manual says 2 5/8 for my bike here in America, mine at 2 5/8 runs a bit sluggish and I may need to come out another turn and a half.

    Hey man, love the video! I have and 96' st1100 that shuts off like yours if I close the choke but it is still rideable just seems to be low on power, I was going to try the sea foam method first, do you think I should? Or should I just go right for the carb removal? Any information helps, thanks

    • @iShOotBlasterz
      @iShOotBlasterz 5 лет назад +1

      Mitty clinchard any carb will get plugged if you let it sit too long...it's still running and would ride strong even in that condition.

      Petrol left in the carbs if not run for a long period goes like varnish blocking the small jet holes. It's a real pain to clean out. I learnt the hard way, always drain you carbs/system of petrol if your going to store your bike for long periods, it saves a lot of swearing.

    • @DommoPA
      @DommoPA 5 лет назад

      Even with bad carbs, plugged up with varnish, they run great. You should sell the HD and get a real sturdy bike, st1100/st1300

      Just picked up my first st1100 2001abs, just finishing up a quasi full service...dumping all fluids, and since bike has been sitting in storage for 3 years I ponder if I should pull carbs & clean? (It had a full topped up tank that smelled okay) When I picked up bike I boosted it to load on the trailer..yea I know that’s a bad idea, however it fired and ran smoooooooth at idle! Bike has 45,000klm, and I have very little $$$ in it...so far. It is a clean bike but lookin at the airfilter maintenance I don’t believe maintenance was done thoroughly...bad ripoff dealership! Anyone know if a factory pcv filter makes a huge difference? As I’m having a hard time finding one... I was going to make one out of foam air filter from a lawnmower!?
