    I always learn something when Big Tractor Power puts out a new video, like ground preparation before seeding. Old tractors where easy to operate unlike today, its like getting into the cockpit of jetliner.

    We just bought a 30 ft brillion and we are selling our 16 ft 415. Mulchers are your best chance of breaking up clods.
    Lots of different names for this piece of equipment. I've heard them called mulchers, cultimulchers, and cultipackers. Just depends on who you are talking to.

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  3 года назад

      Nice up grade. What do you pull yours with. They do have allot names. I always called them a culti mulcher but the Case IH brochure calls it a Roller Mulcher.

    • @falcon642
      @falcon642 3 года назад

      @@bigtractorpower We pulled the 415 with a New Holland TS110 or a Case Farmall 120a. On our red clay soil that was overkill. Both tractors could pull the 415 faster than you wanted to go.
      For the brillion we just hooked it up to the 120a and it pulled it fine at 4-5 mph. We have one field with some hills where we might have to use our Case 7120 magnum. Love our 7120, best tractor ever built.

But tell me about power and RPM as my V800 seems lacking in power below 2000 rpm but as soon as I hit 2070 rpm exactly, the power comes on and she takes off. Are all Inters like this? Where I'm from in Ohio I've normally seen farmers no till winter wheat into soybean stubble. Why do they choose to do it in corn stubble? Is it personal preference or does it grow better in tilled it up corn stubble?

    • @bigtractorpower
      @bigtractorpower  3 года назад +1

      Wheat always follows corn here because double crop soybeans follow wheat. Corn is planted in March and harvested in August. September is used to fertilize and till the ground. Wheat is planted after October 10. Wheat is harvest around June 10 and soybeans are planted right behind the combines. Double crop bean harvest normal starts around October 20. The corn ground is what is available to get the wheat planted as the double crop beans are harvested too late. It makes a good rotation. If you farm 2,000 acres you get 3,000 acres of crops per year.

    • @dylanmyers5747

    IH originally wanted to better develop and use their 817cu in inline 6 for these bigger tractors. The truck division developed the DV800 for trucks, and it was SUPPOSED to be a popular engine for that. When it wasn’t, IH had a surplus of the engines and made the farm division use the engines to get rid of them. I’d love to see one of these repowered with the 817, to see what should have been.
