An iconic scene... even though we all loved Prue and Shannen, Paige and Rose really made sure there was another 5 more amazing years of Charmed. Things might've gone downhill after season 4, but the series continued to have amazing moments and episodes until the end.
Right . Rose was the perfect addition to the show . After they killed off Prue abruptly I was so pissed I almost stopped watching but I fell in love with Rose their chemistry was amazing.
What I love about Piper here is even though she's SO mad at the situation, and twisted up from the talk with Patty and Grams, she really makes the effort to be nice to Paige. She doesn't blame her, isn't really mad at her, and even though she's not ready to see Paige as a sister yet, she does still see her and treat her as an innocent. ((Also: Always love a Heroic Leo moment! 🥰))
Paige was probably the best major change in the show. I fell in love with her right away, and it made the loss of Prue feel more impactful. You know, the Source CAN really take their lives, and it took the strongest.
I agree! I know a lot of people hated the change, but losing a member of the core group is realistic. It also forced character to grow. A Phoebe that hadn't suddenly become an older sibling would not have married Cole. A Piper that didn't suddenly become the oldest sister wouldn't be the badass we know and love from later seasons.
Anecdote: we learn in the comics (season 9) that the reconstituted power of three (Piper/Phoebe/Paige) is weaker than the original power of three (Prue/Piper/Phoebe). It's because of the prophecy. The prophecy of the Charmed ones specifically concerns Prue, Piper and Phoebe. In the afterlife, Prue could not find peace because her power always wanted to intensely combine with that of her sisters. This phenomenon made her suffer and weakened the collective power of the new trio (as if the power of three, despite Paige, was trying to reconnect with Prue). For this reason, in order for her to find peace, and break this parasitic connection, Prue was allowed to return on earth, in the body of a comatose witch, Patience. I've only read summaries of it but the stories in the comics are very interesting (and show what an exceptional witch Prue is). And then Prue and Paige meet, which is very cool.
I love that Phoebe stops her from leaving and says "another P imagine that" just like Grams. Such a great call back and moment. Also, the look on Grams's face. She knew Piper and Phoebe were done with the conversation. The moment Paige shows up, you can see the hierarchy change between them. Phoebe now being the middle sister , goes for Paige and brings her back trying to ease the tension with a smile and brings her to Piper, the eldest who's now territorial but still showing a bit of openness to Paige, the youngest who looks afraid and uneasy and just a deer in headlights. Season 4 remains a solid season.
Shannen, Holly, Alyssa and Rose had done such an amazing job as sisters and their chemistry was so spot on that you'd actually never think they never really get along back stage. It was really noticeable between Shannen and Alyssa but I'd never imagined Rose hated Alyssa too until years after. Although there was a BTS once that I saw here in YT that Rose jokingly complained she got "baited" into doing 2 more seasons. Her contract was only good for 2 seasons. S4 and S5. You can see in her face that she's exhausted and wants it to be over by then. And then, years after, she finally said that she wasn't happy being on Charmed. They never really talk back stage, there was no "hanging out" or just casual talk. All was just strictly professional.

Piper does fight it. Becoming a fury proves that, but was saved in time before it fully consumed her. The og 3 had a whole day to adjust before completely coming to terms. For paige she had it worst. It was all slammed on her, and only came to terms when the source 's cover was blown, literally by Piper, then reformed and started to shapshift to still persuade her, and then saved Cole.
The fact that it took all three sisters to vanquish Shax after Prue’s death really highlights just how powerful Prue was. When Prue and Piper faced Shax together, just the two of them were enough to defeat him
This gotta be mentally draining for piper, u just lost your eldest sister just to find out you have a baby sister after all these years, having to form a BOND with a stranger u should've growed up with, and the then u blame your younger sister for the death of your older sister, i would've had to leave for a day or two.
I think Paige was born telekinetic. At first I thought it was the reactivation of the power of three that gave her this power. But that doesn't work: if that were the case, she would certainly have received regular telekinesis. And would certainly have another Warren power (as Patty's daughter, it would make no sense for her to have no witch powers independent of the power of three). The most logical thing is that she was born telekinetic (which also explains the hybrid nature of her gift). And that's what allowed the reconstruction of the power of three: sister by blood + power to move things by thought = possible and compatible substitute for Prue. Let's imagine the same scenario (Prue's death), but this time, Paige has the power of premonition or temporal stasis: the power of three would not have been reconstituted. A piece of the puzzle would have been missing.
Paige always had powers. She saved herself from the accident with her parents and did so unconsciously. She thought she got thrown out some way from the car, but she orbed without knowing. 😊
@clauderain312 I don't think Patty bound Paige's powers. She and Sam took her to the church right after she was born. They probably couldn't risk doing it in case the Elders found out. We know from season 3 they like to spy on them.
I dont think Paige was born telekinetic because the PO3 was prophesied for the original 3 and I think Paige was born more whitelighter than anything else even though she does have witch traits but her actual Charmed power didn't come until there was an opening. In the comics, we find out that with her destiny unfulfilled, Prue couldn't rest in the afterlife and was essentially the one that sent Paige to them hoping to break her connection as she still possessed telekinesis. I think Paige would've received any ability depending on which sister died. As the prophecy technically isn't for Paige she was just able to reconstitute it and it was weaker due to Prue holding on. So I don't think she was born with telekinesis, more so born with the ability to cast/write spells and orb but until the book recognized her as a Charmed One and gave her the missing ability. The comics are quite interesting lol

We can imagine that the whitelighter side was dominant. But we saw with Wyatt or Chris that whitelighter/witch hybrids natively develop witch powers. So why would Paige have no personal powers, unless she became a charmed one? Patty passed on the Warren lineage genes to her, as she did to each of her daughters. Paige is a witch, with or without the power of three. That said, I also like your idea that she is a witch in her own right, with the magic of a witch, but without any power of her own. Plot relatively similar to the Phoebe-queen of underworld plot towards the end of the season, but this time, it is Paige who finds herself in hell. The Source has taken possession of her boyfriend and corrupted her, all the more easily since Paige cannot find her place in the Halliwell family. This is the electroshock that Prue needed to find her will. She will not lose Paige like she lost Phoebe. End of season objective: get Paige back, fully and definitively restore the power of three, destroy the Source.
