Funny how HIPAA doesn't come into play when making laws about women's medical care. Ms. Greene I call HIPAA too. I don't want you in my doctor's office/visit!!
I wish our reporters weren't so timid. I had the same thought as you expressed here, but also thought- wouldn't it be amazing if someone asked her "So, how many of your personal trainers HAVE you slept with in violation of marital oath and your professed Christian faith?" People like her are filthy hypocrites unworthy of any position of trust or authority in our country.

Yeah, all of them. Theres even been news stories about the Dems' 100% vaccination rate.
Which is why reporters are asking the republicans if they are vaccinated since the democrats openly flaunt the fact that they have all received the vaccine. It'll be pointless to ask them if they are vaccinated, just like it would be pointless to ask Piper Perry if she is sexually active, both would say "yes"

“The Netherlands ... don’t destroy their economy to fight climate change.” Ummmm.... There’s this thing called a sea wall they built. It cost over a billion dollars. The Netherlands was one of the first countries in the world (40 years ago) realized that without a planet to live on, the economy is moot.
It probably helps to be barely above sea level on a good day. And to have plenty of costal line.
I'd bet a kidney on it: those GOP-monkeys going "oh, why not just get used to climate change" have their holiday homes / prepper-homes complete with swimming pool and home theater high enough to still be safe and dry if the ocean level goes up 10 feet.

As a Dutchman, watching that clip pissed me off. Half my country lives in constant fear that the cities they live in and the towns in which they grew up will be gone due in a few decades because of climate change.
Not to mention that the whole reason we've adapted and became a global leader on water management is precisely because we've been struck by disaster before (Watersnoodramp 1953) and said "never again"! Although Royal Dutch Shell is really trying to pull a ''hold my beer'' on that one. It's quite fascinating and disheartening to see the stance on climate change shift from "it's not real!" to "maybe it's real, but we don't cause it!" to "Ok we cause it, but it's good" to "Ok it's not good, but we can adapt!" What's next? "Ok we can't adapt, but God's cool in the afterlife!"
Also try watermanaging yourself out of the billions (yeah with a B) of climate refugees that this unfolding disaster will spawn.

Here in the Netherlands, we've had the worst flood in a thousand years last week.
So please, Jesse Waters, tell us that we aren't affected by rising oceans.
Well... the flooding has little to do with rising sea levels, but all with extreme rainfall in Germany and Belgium.
I’m so sorry about all the flooding in NL and other countries.
From one concerned Canadian, please know that you are all in our prayers. We love the Netherlands & the people. I’m not sure if you have been following our crisis here in Canada (you have a lot to deal with) but we are battling record number of forest fires in British Columbia (most of them caused by lightning strikes) which is affecting the air quality all the way to Toronto. Climate change is REAL!
Praying for you and Netherlands. Most of us in America don’t agree with this idiot
As a Dutchie I'd say this comment is as stupid as stupid can get. The floodings of last week had NOTHING to do with the rising sealevel. I am not saying that the rising sealevel isn't a huge concern, but let's keep the facts straight. The flooding rivers had everything to do with the huge amount of rain that fell in a very short time.

Marjorie Taylor Green is truly an inspiring person. She really shows you can grow up with no brain activity whatsoever, carry on through life even though your one brain cell died off decades ago, and then get elected to public office with less intellectual capabilities than a house plant. Science should study her. How does a creature with no signs of even having a brain at all walk and talk like a person? It's a medical mystery.
This is true & very, very sad.
I love you 😘
Personally, I'm of the opinion that she has a brain and most of her seemingly stupid or uninformed opinions are actually calculated attempts to get as much shock and awe attention as possible. Remember, not too long ago she was just some random lady on FB, learning that the crazier she sounded the more attention she got. It's not just stupid, it's simple conditioning. Insane things out, national attention in. Should be a rule that any time someone says something in America is "like the Holocaust" (or calls anyone other than actual Nazis Nazis/brownshirts) is mostly looking to get into the headlines. And our national news networks fall for it every time. For me, the HIPAA thing is emblematic of how far in over her head this random-woman-turned-Congress-member has gotten herself (seriously, major Duning Kruger effect there).
Sorry for the long reply. It's just that I've come to the conclusion that simply calling them stupid (and focusing making jokes about how stupid she personally is) masks the actual roots of their popularity, and keeps us from preventing the next Marjorie Taylor Green, or even Donald Trump. You can't fix stupid. But you *can* deprive insane attention seeking of a platform. Unless they're actually making anti Vax laws, we should really just ignore them. Ignore them until they fade into irrelevance. I don't think MGT would have even run if she hadn't felt bolstered by the attention she was getting from her crazy statements. (obviously if they're actually doing things that are detrimental to public health and safety, attention is needed to push back; for example, DeSantis and his party members' anti mask rules in FL is a good exception, that's worthy of coverage and national outrage)
But if we're just making jokes and my previous comments were overkill: I don't know about how smart my houseplants are, but even my dog doesn't fight when I take her in for vaccinations, so she may be smarter than Marjorie Taylor Green. :)

I feel personally offended by Jesse of what he says about my country. "They built resevoirs, and kind of adjusted around the coasts."
Yes we did. We did not destroy our econemy, we lost a lot of people figuring out how to combat the water. On top of that, building more of our famous "dams", which are basically just walls one after another to safeguard urban areas, won't work. There is a limit which is why a increase in storms on coasts and a rising sea level is not only frightning as of it sounds, it is disasterous to our country. It won't fail overnight, but it will in the long run if climatechange goes unchecked as it does now. Not even FOX news would be safe.
P.S.

Speaking as an American, climate researchers and engineers in the Netherlands do give me hope.
The "not FDA approved" thing always mystified me. They hate the government, but they want something government approved?!
Your mistake is in thinking what they say is what they mean.
What they actually want is for any information that exists to meet their preformed beliefs.
They'll use any source, so long as it does that.

Always nice to hear about our lovely nation of the Netherlands. We got some great water control but to say that we were able to adapt does leave our that we invested millions into defenses, similarly that we are investing millions into reducing emission as this is almost as efficient (if everyone were to do it)

No, its why they have a humane healthcare system. They, unlike we in the u.s., are a civilized country.
So should we "adapt" to people being killed in condo collapses along the Florida coast? Part of the reason they collapsed is that with the water table rising, they are now sitting in mud that used to be solid ground. In Miami, some streets near the coast have water in them at high tide. Go adapt yourself, Jesse.

How can the water have risen without Jesse Watters knowing about it? I mean he is all about the Watters. So suck on that lib.

1901 Supreme court ruled we can require vaccines... this was during the smallpox pandemic.
ONE HUNDRED YEARS AGO, in Jacobson v Massachusetts, the US Supreme Court upheld the Cambridge, Mass, Board of Health’s authority to require vaccination against smallpox during a smallpox epidemic.2 Jacobson was one of the few Supreme Court cases before 1960 in which a citizen challenged the state’s authority to impose mandatory restrictions on personal liberty for public health purposes. What might such a case teach us today? First, it raises timeless questions about the power of state government to take specific action to protect the public’s health and the Constitution’s protection of personal liberty. What limits state power? What does constitutionally protected liberty include? Second, answers to these questions can change as scientific knowledge, social institutions, and constitutional jurisprudence progress. A comparison of answers to these questions 100 years ago and today shows how public health and constitutional law have evolved to better protect both health and human rights.

I still prefer A Closer Look, but for whatever he is doing, I dread the studio audience’s return. He had originally mentioned about bringing them back again in September. We just lost yet more time due to Olympic Hiatus. It is sad 😔, I think. I don’t mean that the Olympics aren’t worth watching, just the time we lose before the noise and prompted emotions of a studio audience. We are a real audience, too, and a loyal one. I tried Colbert one more time, just to see if I could get through the monologue. I just couldn’t…
Seth is the best in late night!!! Ok, all of TV!!!!!! Seth wins television!!!!!
Seth and staff make an awesome team.
Taylor Green: that breaks my rights
Everyone: so that's a yes but you're going to keep preaching against it. Got you
She's perfectly content for other people to die in defence of her principles.
My first reaction was to think "dying is hyperbole here" but then I realized it wasn't. She's literally letting others die for her "principles".
Every time I see a clip of Marjorie Taylor Greene, I cant help but think “this is what happens when a bag of potatoes becomes at least partially sentient”.
Seriously.
Mega potato bag vibes with this one.
@@fourlightsorchestra Sentient? Maybe. Capable of coherent thought? Not in the slightest.
@@ilovethe80s74 😂... “partially”. Definitely not all the way sentient, but she can probably manage to not bite down on her fork... at least some of the time. So, you know... she’s at least got that going for her.
“Why aren’t you asking Democrats if they’ve been vaccinated?”
“I thought about it, but then I realized at least 80 percent of them have photos and videos of them getting vaccinated on their social media. Then it seemed kind of redundant…”
80% you are being generous it is 100%, I am pretty sure all of them have 3 separate photo ops of themselves being vaccinated twitter by this point.

I love when the joke writers and Seth's top notch delivery mesh into one superbly hilarious episode lol nice work guys had me laughing the whole time!
Omg! The flavor Vanilla !! I’m laughing so hard !
Liberals when they don't like what a company does: Let's all collectively stop buying their products.
Conservatives: That's cancel culture!
Conservatives when they don't like what a company does: Let's make their products illegal to buy for everyone.
Liberals when they don't like what somebody says: "That's hate speech! Cancel him! Censor him! Take away his livelihood!"
Conservatives when they don't like what somebody says: "Debate me!"
You're on the side of neo-fascists.
Harry Mills I feel bad for you, your brain is so badly disconnected from reality a divine intervention wouldn’t save you, let alone the presenting of facts you perceive as a debate being indulged in a RUclips comment thread
@@harrymills2770 So making someone's product illegal is your version of "debate me" and it's not canceling their product? What kind of "debate" is that?
ya it is shameful practice denying them to right to sell in that state. Which is actually illegal. OK needs to retract that statement. B&J can talk about whatever they like, but it is bad press for them doing so. Let them dig their own hole, the government has no right to stop them from legally selling their products.
Quick question; how well did the dinosaurs adapt to climate change? Should we do better or follow their lead?
The "poep in de ventilator" was pronounced really well, did get a chuckle out of me as a dutch person
I was surprised that the dutch word isn't closer to the german 'kacke', but very close to 'poop'. I guess an etymological research is due. :D (fun fact for linguists: german still use 'pupsen' for farting, so there was a connection once) :D
@@jayweh ‘Kak’ does exist in Dutch as well, but ‘poep’ is more common.
@@mirjamplooij400 :D I knew it!
@@Balletified ok, this very sophisticated linguistic discourse cannot end without asking about the dutch word for 'scheiße' which is what we'd use when something goes wrong. I would assume it'd be sth. like schiet as in plattdeutsch. :D
@@Balletified aaand now we've come back full circle to the english word 'shite'.
That Steve was SPOT ON 😂 also lol at Pippa Rights
The George Kennedy egg joke was one of the funniest I’ve heard in a long time. If someone doesn’t get that joke because they haven’t seen the movie, should you say, “what we have here is failure to communicate.”?
"Nu komt de poep in de ventilator" That's so funny! It is way too literal of a translation though; we would never say it like that. More something like: "Stront aan de knikker" (Sh*t on the marble)
BTW, the lowest point of our country is NOT nearly 22 feet below sea level; it's nearly 22 meters, or around 70 feet for those who prefer to measure distances in shoe sizes.
The lowest point of our country is the Zuidplaspolder at 6.76 meters below sea level, so 22 feet is quite accurate.
I’m dead people are literally just trying to stop a mass extinction event and people are just like lol no
I think the people who years ago were saying all the disasters are "signs we're in the end times", are now just counting on the apocalypse to save them from having to deal with earth's problems. So when people actually want to deal with those problems, they get all mad, like "how dare you try to prevent the apocalypse?" lol
@@FectacularSpail I mean, they're not wrong... The apocalypse will take care of them. My problem is just that it's not their personalized apocalypse, but a global one, dragging a lot of innocent people down with the idiots...
What’s even more absurd here, is that both Merkel and Laschet from the CDU (the mainstream right-wing party here in Germany) both have spoken about the most recent floods that have caused probably billions of dollars of damages, and specifically called out climate change as one of the reasons this sort of weather can exist.
No other mainstream right-wing party in the first world is indulging in this climate denialism. The US Republicans stand essentially alone… with, I guess, a few fringe political parties, and some authoritarian governments… though, I guess now that I’m looking, the UK and Canadian tories (the conservatives) are buying in on this climate change denialism BS… :weary:
The GQP leaders are finally realizing that when their base dies from covid 19 and they will if they decides to not get vaccinated their own power and ability as a party to remain in power goes away
this is the one thing the GQP leaders are most afraid of and they are doing anything to stay in power including spreading the big lie and making laws that stops people from voting
But the GQP base are slowly being exterminated by their own stupidity
Too many people watching too many end of the world movies
Reporter: "Have you been vaccinated?" MTG: "Well, first of all, blah, blah, blahdee, blah, blah...yes."
Every time I watch one of these and laugh out loud at the lunacy of the right, I respond the way Rebecca Larue did in the classic SNL sketch, by turning my head sheepishly and saying, "Oh, Seeeeth." Brilliant stuff, Seth.
"There's a limit to how low you can go" Clearly, the scientist who said that hasn't been paying attention to the GOP.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who feels were living in the opening scenes of an apocalyptic action movie. Shits gonna hit the fan
It did long ago, all the way back to Reagan and his henchmen slashing taxes on the rich and cutting services for the poor, kicking thousands of mentally ill people onto the streets.
@SethMeyers you make my day!
"There is a limit to how low you can go", really? Have you met a climate change denier?
Whoever said,
"There's a limit to how low you can go," hasn't been paying attention to the magas.
There is no limit to how low you can go. You can only get so close what is right, but you can get as far away from it as you like.
I haven't seen any "bid"en flags in the EU or Britain......

That was my thought. This makes me glad I don't live in Oklahoma. I deeply dislike being told where or where not to put my money, or what politics to support.
Also the Netherlands reclaimed that land from the sea. The sea did not rise..
Why are rising sea levels and reclaimed land equated to each other in that sentence?
It's entirely possible for the sea level to rise AFTER you reclaim land.
This is something that the Chinese and Japanese are dealing with in Asia at the moment.

Oddly enough it's not illegal for someone to ask, it's also not illegal for employers to ask. As a matter of fact employers can require it after the emergency order has been canceled. Employers can also require it...
In Texas it actually is against the law for an employer to require it.
@@DanielTsosie - If so, that's a matter of Texas law, not HIPAA.
What HIPAA does is prevent your employer from going to your doctor and getting _them_ to hand over your medial records without your consent.
