Pretty nice houses in that area. I love all these beautiful wrought iron gates (great works all around the Philippines). Staying in Pasay City, it happened that I was taken in a pedicab to get a used phone somewhere across small and ruined streets. omg, i had a bad back at this time, and i can tell you it didn't make it better! Thank you for this very nice video and comments. I don't know why but this video made me feel and miss the Phils. tc Rod.
LOL. Bad backs and big people do not go well with small rough pedicabs. It is easy to miss the Philippines if you have spent much time here. How long ago was it Shineamen?
Great video. I really enjoyed it. My wife, who is Filipina, and I are currently making plans to come back to Philippines and settle in Puerto Princesa, Palawan for her to attend nursing school. I enjoy all information about this wonderful country.
Great video about south west Mactan. Not much is available in that area on you tube. Looks very peaceful and non touristy. Yet, still close enough to all the action and big amenities.
It has the advantage of being more peaceful and laid back and close the "big city". Thanks for watching David. I have Amundsen friends back in Minnesota, USA but I think it is a pretty common name.
Good question. There are parts of Cebu City/Mandaue City that get many more blackouts than I do in the more commercial areas I have been living. Mactan has the international airport and some important industries as well so I suspect much of the island is well covered but some areas might be lacking John. It is good you have the battery backup. I hope your solar is kicking in enough to hold you over.
Another great video, Rod. It looks like a nicer and more quiet area of Cebu. Rod, can you really rent some of those high-rise studio condos on Mactan (and other Cebu areas) for 200-300ish a month?
Mactan seems much more laid back than Cebu City. Your figures sound a little low but some owners may be motivated to rent for less in the slower seasons coming up. It also depends on how well it is furnished Jason and whether it includes internet and/or cable tv.
Hey there, great vlog, looks more my sort of place. Can you tell me, are there boat taxis to and from the island to Cebu and are they just as busy in rush hour?
Excellent, thanks for that.. I was just thinking of times when you’ve had enough peace and quiet and need to let your hair down a little, you don’t want to be queueing all night just to get a beer etc : )
I was just mentioning to friends that it would be nice if there were boat/ferry taxis running along the coast as the traffic can get a little crazy with people, animals and slow moving tricycles using the 2 lane roads. Thanks for lionhearted's answer and thanks for watching Baza B.
Hi, Great Vid Rod like usual and make me thinking differently about where i can stay in November to March, need to find now a studio semi or furnished with queen bed. If anybody have idea or contact plz send me a message, i will be very greatfull, like that i send Marianne to verify and manage the booking too .... @+, Marc
I know a lady remodeling a house on Mactan that might rent for about 7,000 I think but not sure when it will be completed. Studio condos at 10,000 are possible but go fast. Thanks for watching Marc.
I have to squeeze this trip on my visits thanks
There are lots of very nice resorts along the coast of Mactan Island. Thanks for watching and happy travels.
🍎 the air and sky look clean 😊
I was a little bit surprised traveling through this area Sandy.
Nice place rod, the pedicab driver earns his money in this heat, will put Cebu on
My wish list only been once a few years ago, enjoyed the video 😎👍.
It was a hot day and he did earn his money. Cebu has lots to offer as do many areas of the Philippines. Thanks for watching Derek.
Awesome! Thank you for the information I will be going to the Philippines 12/2018 cooler season.
Thanks for watching Elena.
More Power to you..God Bless

I hear Puerto Princesa is a nice place and I hope to visit Palawan this year. Nursing school is a great way to go. Thanks for watching Gary.

I hope the electricity is reliable there. Right now I'm on battery power here on Camiguin Island.

So calm video:) I like the tricycle trip. So you want to move from IT-park to Mactan?
I am not moving there but I wanted to find out more about Mactan so this day was a start. Thanks for watching swedendive.

The renting at 10K per month + electricity and water.
