    Clear instructions at the right pace for me. Thank you. I like the way you construct the rows with good tips to make it easier for us. Would love to see a finished black and white quilt too.

    That's a great quilt. I really enjoy your videos Katrina, I always understand you. Seems to me that jelly rolls are such fun and so versatile. Think I might get all my scraps and cut them into jelly roll strips.

    I got this machine in December and so far I’m loving it. I’m looking forward to doing free motion quilting with the stitch regulator. I’ve only ever bought 1 Moda scrap bag and most of the strips had the selvage edge along the bottom of the strip and half the strips were cut squint so I only ended up with about 1.5” of useable fabric on the strip rather than 2.5”, some of the strips were only 1.5” wide at one end! I was really disappointed because you couldn’t see this looking at it. It really put me off buying another one.

      @@BridieCarroll it was very disappointing and has put me off buying those scrap bags. I know they often have selvages but the squint cut was not great.

    I made this quilt from Donna Jordan's instructions a few years ago.. I was new to quilting and I made a scrappy version, I cut the strips from fat quarters. I used orange and green for the diamonds and that made it a little more complicated.

    I have purchased the "Moda Scrap Bags"... all different times, different stores.... one does need to watch out, as on the whole length of the strip, all the way down... you get the Bolt End Holes that hold the fabric onto the machinery...these need to be sliced off, prior to using the now narrower strip! Still a fun bag to buy... but be aware of the loss of fabric..

    When it's sew together do you not lose the tops of the diamonds?

    • @marylynneturner5290
      @marylynneturner5290 6 месяцев назад

      Once those strips are sewn together those diamonds "shrink" and you get a 1\4 inch seam allowance above and below to give you space for crisp points.
