The Eisenhower proof dollars are 40% silver. 1971 was the first year of issue. Any of the Kennedy half dollars 1965-1970 are also 40% silver. C
Do yourself a favor and buy a Redbook. Spend time with dad on learning. Lost my Dad in 93,ohhh what I would give to have that time to go threw our collection together

-O and -CC is New Orleans mint and Carson City. These 2 are no longer in business. A privy is just a commemorative to that mint. The W is WestPoint mint mark.
Vince, this was great. At least with coins the corners are already rounded! NGC and PCGS are the two big coin grading companies. I believe in the uncirculated sets the red and blue differentiate where they were minted Denver or Philadelphia. Someone else already explained the letters you were asking about are where the coins were minted. And when you said the 50 year Kennedy box was bought in the 80s that actually came out in 2014. They minted the first Kennedy half dollars the year after he was shot. I am curious why your dad never bought any gold coins? Or maybe he’s keeping those? 😂
Vince, looks like someone answered your mint-mark question. The -P indicating the coin was struck at the Philadelphia mint, and so forth. No huge values, but it really adds up when you have a lot of $50+ dollar items in the graded coins! Sounds like maybe your dad is still actively collecting. By the way in circulating coins the P mint mark usually does not appear, that is normal and not worth any more.
Very nice set! Me and my dad collected coins and I'm still collecting them after he passed. Your dad has some nice graded coins with the morgans. And those dashes are where the coins were minted and on the morgans when it says privy it means it's just a copy of the actual mint mark but was actually minted somewhere else. I was hoping to see that you had a 2019-s reverse proof american eagle. I have no idea how I missed buying that when it first came out, but that one is worth a lot. the V11 privy one is worth some money too. I lucked out and got that one. I wish I bought the gold one. I could have got it cause it was in my cart but went against it cause it was 2k but now it's worth 20k lol.

Dude , you are killing me. You have a very well put together collection from your dad. You need to stop with the videos and first educate yourself about what you have. The - marks are the marking of the mint where they were made. i.e. P is for Phiadelphia, D is fore Denver, S is for San Fransico, W for West Point, and CC for Carson City. The Carson City coins will be worth serious money because the mintage was low on the coin. They are also highly sought after.

The D mint mark was worth the most at 70 grade
Newer silver eagles that are valuable are 1995 W and 2019 S enhanced reverse. Both worth thousands in grade 70. Especially the 1995 W. $10,000 or more

The 1970 set had the last silver half dollar in it.
MS-70 or PR-70 (for proof coins) are PSA 10.......MS-63 is comparable to PSA 9
