      I think the SF Giants organization would be the perfect fit. They can build homegrown talent around him, they have the more recent WS legacy, the pacific time zone, the beautiful stadium, the huge Asian population and history in the Bay Area, the short right field = Ohtani splash hits
      I just think it works the best for everyone if he’s in SF. They can build a strong team around him

    We may witness the first player of any sport to make a B in contracts.
    When you can strike out 5 or more ppl, hit HRs, have speed rounding the bases, generate talk from any and every member of media it’s undeniable. Sho definitely a legend already. I pray injuries dnt ruin what we’re seeing. 🙏🏽💯

    As an Angels fan my whole life I have to say Shohei and Trout are like 95% of why I’ve even been interested or excited at all to watch my team the last few years. Really disappointed the organization hasn’t gotten more winning done with them around!

    Ohtani just continues to amaze. I don't know how far he can go but he's already eclipsed the Mike Trout conversation (not easy to do BTW) And now what? He deserves a big stage. I can't see but a few iconic organizations that could be a fit for this level of greatness. I mean .... really .....who? Yankees for sure, Dodgers very probably, Red Sox and Cardinals maybe.     Considering his offense AND pitching is elite level, logic would suggest he’s worth that of 35 million dollar position players and a 35 million dollar pitcher. Now, do you get a bit of a discount seeing as a serious injury doing one or the other is multiplied by 2? Sure. I think 60-65 million per year is fair. I wouldn’t give him a 10 years contract though. 5 max at say 325 million.

      Agreed there’s a bit of embellishment by Colin, but Shohei has hit more HRs of 440+ feet than any other player in the league currently. He’s the best power hitter in baseball right now.

    the downside of baseball is the game's biggest stars OFTEN aren't playing on the biggest stage. NFL - all the top quarterbacks are playing in the final 4-8. NBA - all the best players are in the second round.
    would love to see Shohei pitching in the World Series at some point, but it feels like the Angels will never compete, especially if they have 2 players taking up 90% of their payroll.

    Great point about Nuggets moving on from Nurkic and Warriors moving on from Monta. It seems like moving on from a redundant #2 has worked in the past. The Blazers faced similar issues with Dame and CJ. I still think Tatum and JB deserve one more year before separating them

    The only league or players you can compare Ohtani to would be basketball players. Because they play both ends of the floor. The elite players play both ends and they can do everything on the court at an extremely high level.

    Idk Colin the Celtics are as good as it gets in basketball, bad is Was, bad is Det bad is Cha, just because they haven’t won the title yet doesn’t make them a failure, there’s only 1 champion every year and there’s always a crazy injury or two that changes how the playoffs are played the Celtics will have their time too just like Milwaukee did just like Denver did it’s the teams that build their own stars and stay with them that become truly special

    1. They're never more than a handful of special players in the league at any given time.
    2. Tatum is a very good player meaning that you can win a championship with him in the right circumstance. Just like %99 of the NBA.
    3. G.S knew Curry was a special shooter but they had no idea he was an all-time great player.

    Yo you gotta chill. Think about how these teams are built now. You need a lot of help to win. Back in the day these teams didn’t have all these superstars on every team you had to beat.
