I'm surprised Gad said he doesn't know Bishop Barron. He was in the fantastic video The 4 Horsemen of Meaning with Jordan Peterson, John Vervaeke, and Jonathan Pageau. He has appeared a few times on Ben Shapiro's videos and also plays a mean guitar and harp (see his salute to Bob Dylan). Gad has to get him as a guest.
I've been following you for a long time, I don't always agree with you but enjoy your arguments and how nuanced they are. I really think you'll enjoy Citizen Kane. The movie itself, acting, cinematography but also the context in which the movie was made and it's effect on culture as commentary about the press and it's effect on public perception. I would HIGHLY recommend watching it, especially now.
Patricia Heaton makes me proud to be an Irish Catholic. I was also horrified by the lack of support for our Jewish brothers and sisters after 10/7. I wear my dog tag and my hostage pin every single day, and I have large photos of the precious Bibas babies on the back of my car, along with a bumper sticker declaring my support for the Jewish people. We must make ourselves as visible as the brutal antisemitism we have seen since 10/7/23. God Bless you, Patricia and Gad.
This made me tear up. G-d bless you and watch over you. You are an incredible soul for standing up for the Jewish people so boldly and bravely 💗 thank you penny!
We love you Patricia and we want you to know your voice is being heard! Thank you Gad for giving this phenomenal human a platform for an amazing conversation
Thank you Patricia Heaton❤ I used to like her as a fine actress, now I absolutely love her as great person, and appreciate her a serious Christian who not just talk the talk but also walk the walk. She has become one of my latest heroes, together with Jordan Peterson and Douglas Murray. God bless this woman and her family.❤
This is very pleasant and refreshing to hear from such a strong Catholic. A lot of these “Rad Trad” Catholic channels are sadly tainted by an ugly antisemitism. Although not a religious channel per se, Candace Owens is a sad example of this. Taylor Marshall and Timothy Gordon are two other examples.
Atheist in Southern England here. I feel the same as Patricia Heaton about October 7 and a crazy reaction to it. Also, I feel the same relief about the recent Trump victory. In my case, it’s because I feel free speech is being taken away from people here in England and I felt that the Democrats in the U.S. seemed to want the same thing and to embrace censorship and silencing people. So - an end to that crushing atmosphere in the greatest democracy in the world, & return to freer times is a great relief to me and a cause for joy. (NOT the fake, manufactured. DNC/Kamala Harris ‘Joy’, but real Joy.)
Gad i hope you can interview justine bateman, and many other conservative celebrities. roseanne barr ? tim allen ?? ( is ray romano a conservative ?) Kelsey grammar ? dr phil ? dr oz ? halfway thru this conversation, so good. TODAH
She seems to have her head on straight, but I hate the Hollywood tendency to suddenly be wearing giant oversized glasses when discussing more serious issues 🙄🤦♂️
So if she was wearing contact lenses, but was wearing a graduation cap and a robe, and had a giant bookcase in the background, you'd make the same type of comment.
So many Jews are deeply thoughtful people who live conservative lives themselves, while touting leftism and voting for Dems and leftists. It’s quite vexing. I’ve given it much thought, yet still don’t really understand it.
At Yeshiva (K-12) we were inundated with what happened in Germany but never what had happened in the USSR. If it wasn't for the Russian side of my family I'd have known nothing about how communist authoritarianism breaks the human will and destroys actual progress. Not just for Jews but for everyone under the yoke. It may be that holocaust survivors, many of whom were rescued by Soviet soldiers, accordingly viewed them as saviors and that their form of collectivism was the only true counter to the devastating fascism that they had just barely survived. On a kibbutz you have a form of "Line-of-sight" socialism that can work as long as the community stays within certain population parameters. But yes, vexing indeed.
I've long been puzzled by Jewish voting patterns, really voting against their own interests (e.g. favoring large-scale immigration of Muslims into western countries). That most American Jews would vote for Harris-Walz a year after the October 7 attacks is a real head-scratcher. I do think the collective memory of the Holocaust being at the hands of western Europeans plays a part. At the same time, Jews have always been over-represented in supporters of communism, and the authors of the Bolshevik revolution were almost all Jewish. The Frankfurt school, which imported communist ideology into America, was a Jewish project. But listening to Gad talk about the emphasis on higher education, and participation in academia, sheds yet another light on the mystery. Colleges and universities are now indoctrination factories of left-wing ideology. The more time one spends there, the more left-leaning they will be. Or the harder it is for one to break out of the leftist mindset and adopt a new political orientation.
Secular and Reform Jews have substituted Tikkun Olam for actual Jewish beliefs, and tend to be on the left. But, Orthodox and many Conservative Jews, who have a stronger attachment to our homeland, and understand our history, tend to be on the right. Sadly, Jewish Federation and the JDL have been captured by the left, and they put themselves out as representatives of all Jews, when they really aren't. If you want to be around Jews with a more realistic outlook, may I suggest Chabad.
Continued prayers for the IDF the hostages and their families and for Jewish people across the world as Christians we stand with Israel let them go nowAmen 🌼🤝🙏
bravo patricia heaton, many of your mannerisms remind me of my ex wife ( though she is of a different ethnicity) e.l.r helped keep me going during my early parental alienation . thanx Gad
I have the book, 'Conclave' by Robert Harris; and am about to read it. Thank you for the warning about the film. It will prevent me from wasting good money on woke assholes. Of course, it may be that this is Harris's take on the 'Pope Joan' legend. I will see.
What an excellent question! As a Catholic, it is difficult for me to understand how she can justify that. The first time I voted for Trump there were a lot of things I didn't like about him, however Hillary had demonstrated to me that she was evil, so it was not a difficult choice for me.
18:37 Gad im the same, idk what to call myself but the best definition i could think of is "self reformist", as in i dont follow the halacha not because i think its nonsense - i just think theres better interpetations. for example kosher laws - the torah says "do not cook a lamb in its mothers milk", i dont think this is meant to tell us "dont mix meat and milk", its meant to tell us "dont do something as absurd as cooking a lamb in its mothers milk". another example - shabbat - it says to not work on saturday, so i dont work on saturday. using electricity and stuff like that is not working, i can relax on my day off and still use electricity and i wont be working.... so i do believe, somewhat, but i follow the rules the way i see fit, not the way rabbi's told me edit: yes i havent read the torah as much as rabbis, im not a scholar of judaism, im the most normal secular jew you'll find, my mom always told me she sees herself as a complete "haredi" eventho she's as secular as me, and i never understood it until i looked at it this way. no hassid is gonna tell me im not jewish enough because i mix dairy and meat, i can read the torah myself and get my own conclusions, and that makes me just as jewish as the penguin looking dudes from bnei brak. the whole "listen to the rabbi" thing is an old concept, when people didnt have the luxury to work, have kids, AND study the torah, not to mention many couldnt read, so people had to rely on a scholar, known as a rabbi, who specializes in the Torah... nowadays you can easily do your own research, and imo thats our duty as modern jews, even if you're gonna dismiss all of it and be an anti zionist american idiot, you need to do your OWN research
The rule of not mixing meat and dairy and many other rules came from observation. Any good nutritionalist will tell you that it is not so easy for us humans to digest meat protein with dairy. Also some meats from scavenger animals can cause serious illness hence the rule on cloven hoof and chewing the cud. And if a person works physically hard every day with no break eventually they will get worn out hence the day of rest Shabbat. These common sense practices eventually got written down as laws. So your interpretations now using common sense are valid but… at the expense of tradition. Tradition is the intangible that binds us together. As long as we can develop an intangible that retains our commitment to each other then go for it….
Hey lady . Don’t be so reactive . Could be the film you’re upset with could be a warning and the religious theme is just a backdrop. And therefore protective of your religion .
One can support all jews and not support the Israeli govt. What they are doing, in my opinion, is by no means making Israel safer. They're seduced by vengefulnes and probably still not heaped from past trauma as a people. Love you Gaad but you're forgetting your own principle of discernment in many ways when it comes to the Middle East. But in the spirit of where we agree thank Noses, Jesus & Allah Walz isn't out Madaam VP 😉

Much love and gratitude to Patricia for her voice and support! 🙏🏻🤍
Thank you to our Righteous Gentile friends who are defending Israel and the Jewish right to exist.
Yes. Thank you to all gentle souls
God defends Israel.
You’re brainwashed zombies
@@thejohnbeck Israel is not Judaism. You’re being lied to. Israel is the closest thing to Nazi Germany in existence today.
Thank you Patricia Heaton❤

this was such a fun interview pure enjoyment
Welcome to Michigan, Gad! I know a couple of students at Northwood. I’m glad to see someone like you is contributing to their University 😊

just started watching, but i loved her in 'Raymond'
I agree with all of your movie judgements - and everything else also!
She seems to have her head on straight, but I hate the Hollywood tendency to suddenly be wearing giant oversized glasses when discussing more serious issues 🙄🤦♂️
LOL i had the same thought... i just figured it's current glasses fashion. like in the 80s, when glasses were also ugly.
lol
So if she was wearing contact lenses, but was wearing a graduation cap and a robe, and had a giant bookcase in the background, you'd make the same type of comment.
I actually love her glasses ! She's so beautiful she could be wearing a potato sack and make it look good!

How does one grow up and decline to vote? TWICE?!? In a democracy!?!?!?!?!?
