Ken I am happy for you finally getting your health issues fixed after the 35 years of ladder and climbing work!! I joined your channel when you first started talking about the lumber industry prices. It’s been a great experience watching your channel!!! Be safe and enjoy your journey!! From old East Texas man. LOL.
@vernt4583 Me too...when he was driving up over the bridge in Island Pond looking at the lumber yard. Of course, I remember long before that lumber transfer station was there. A lot has changed up in that town.
Nurse advocates are wonderful people Ken. I'm glad to see you back in your comfortable spot. What little advice I can give you, not that you asked, is to enjoy the 'down time' and set looking out that window to enjoy your view, a good cup of coffee, and pleasant memories. We'll all be here for your next video when you're ready. Great to see you.
Glad the surgery went well. You are such an inspiration for others needing a knee replacement. It will give them an idea what to expect when they have theirs done.
Amazing that you had both knees done so close together. They made my wife wait one year between surgeries. Full success on both. I wish you the same KEN.. YOU most definitely don't have Alzheimer or dementia. keep up with pain meds. watch for clots . wishing you a speedy recovery !!
Ken - enjoyed your chat this am - and glad your on the way to full recovery. Enjoy a few weeks doing some R&R w Kaya on your lap and then when your ready for more videos will be right here waiting... Learn a ton from these - I'm a pre-senior who spent most of his days working in front of a PC and now have to time to do some of the projects you are showing us
Great video. Thanks for your update. Don't want to stress you but watch the double billing. My wife had double knee replacements through ChampVA and there is no cost because I'm a totally disabled 1968 Republic of Vietnam combat veteran. She did have an assistant come in for help. She finally looked at the billing and found the assistant was billing for house calls and did not show up. The wife called the government office. Hahaha 😅. The government worker immediately was over at the house. Usually one can't get government for nothing. That was funny.
Glad that you are doing well. I'm 71 and suspect that I'll be doing the knee thing in a few years. It's helpful to hear about your experience. After watching for years it's like listening to a friend describe the experience. An anecdote: My father was born in 1914 and grew up in Peacham. No family left there, but have visited over the years. He settled in CT after WW2 and that's home for us. Looking out on the CT river as I type this- so there is a connection of sorts. Semi retirement takes some getting used to. I've been dialing back for a better than a year. Still adjusting.
Good morning Ken. Glad to see you in good spirits. Just remember to follow the instructions for your recovery. Hope you have an awesome and blessed day.
Ken, praise the Lord for the skilled surgeon and nurse advocate and everyone else including the anesthesiologist for the work on the second knee. Your updates are refreshing. Stay strong and follow orders for a quick and full recovery.
Ken let me say you are an amazing person in many ways and here your updates on surgery are over the top. I can't imagine myself and this process certainly less likely to be as up and cheerful about things. Thanks so much Ken for being and example during a time of concern doing a Fantastic job. Prayers to my friend.
You may not know this but you are an inspiration to all who have life little adventures. You make life seem easy because of your ability to cope with any situation. My wife and I wish you a speedy recovery and will pray for you . May you have a great day and please , no running, yet, lol. P,ease take it easy and rest and god bless.
Good morning my friend, so glad your feeling fine and you have a handle on the pain ,I was told that my body would let me know when to retire, thanks for the update Ken get lots of rest ..off too work I go 🐊🌴😎
Glad both those knee operations are finally done. Be careful and listen to the experts advice and take it slow. This second one may take a little longer for healing since your body has been through so much. Be well! Love your channel. I watch from all the way over in central Vermont….AKA Upper Valley.
Glad you got through the surgery! Did they give you an ice machine? It circulates cold water around a cuff that you attach around your knee. Really helps with pain especially at night. I could not have got through the pain without it on my knee replacement. In a month you will be good as new!
Rest up, heal up and THEN get up, Ken! ;-) I'm praying for a speedy and full recovery as you prepare for your new long-distance running career. Take care and God Bless.
Nurse Advocate.... Take it easy! I'm too far away but people may want to order a custom $1000 coffee table! I am thinking leaves would look real cool in the epoxy.
You look and sound very good. Most hospitals today have patient advocates but you still must be your own advocate as you were with the ALZ false diagnosis in your chart. Prayers for a quick and healthy recovery. Looking forward to all of your endeavors.
Good morning ken. i had one knee replacement. what we did not know is that that surgery would cause a huge auto immune flare up. i had not been diagnosed with fibromyalgia yet...that came later....my surgeon was the one who figured out that my huge pain was not the knee but full body inflammation. get well soon.
I am glad everything went well for your knee surgery. I guess it is too early, to ask can you run faster, jump higher and we can call you the six million man. I know many including me were praying for your surgery. I understand about knees and working on roofs. My knees can't handle that any more. Pray for continue recovery and projects come and go. But there is only one Ken. Take the time to recover and we will see you on the upside. Have a great weekend.
Maybe your nurse called herself your advocate? When you had that near slip/issue on Al's animal barn roof it scared me a lot, and then was not surprised that you were done roofing. Hope you heal quickly!
Ken, glad you’re doing better. I’m facing the same thing. On your chair lift, I thought the same about the chain not to scale. Would a small diameter cable work? Rest for now friend.
Good morning, Ken! Wow, you look great, Brother! That's scary when they get your records wrong. When I was a Firefighter/Emergency Medical Responder, I had a bloodborne exposure while tending to a patient. I had to go for tests and shots for a year. I needed Shoulder surgery and the records nurse said, oh, I see you have Hepatitis C. WHAT?! I said, you must be looking at someone elses file! I went crazy trying to tell her that I didn't have that! I went to my primary care doc to ask him to order a blood test. He said, you don't have hep c. I said, humor me and order the test! He did. Thank the Good Lord I was right. I DON'T have it! Not sure if the hospital ever corrected my records. THAT was scary! Anyway, you look fantastic and you're getting around really well for two days out! I hope your recovbery goes quickly and as painlessly as possible. Get your rest, Have a wonderful day! God bless.
Ken, good luck with your recuperation. As I listened to this video, it don’d on me what your next career should be. You should try some voice over work. I think you’re a natural. The added benefit? No ladders or heavy lifting 🙂
Don''t do too much under the influence of the drugs this time! I hope recovery goes well!!!! I had surgery a few weeks ago, they gave me written post op medicine and instructions at the appointment when the surgery date was set. I found that very useful. More efficient furnace is good, you can slowly recover some of the cost of the furnace.
After having x2 knee replacement try a pillow at the end of the bed under the blankets to keep the pressure off your feet you might find that helps not having the blanket weight on your lower legs to be able to get up easily
lol;;;;amazing how things effect us;;;glad to see that you recovered;;;lol;;;knew that would happen;;;;you say you ramble;;;lol;;;welll my comments turn into bookis without the covers;;;lol;;;so today be short story or paperback short story;;;heck;;;with my part timers I can't remember;;;anyway;;;we enjoyed as always;;;;thumbs up and keep em comin;;;;get them train whistles blowin;;;;we gone
Help us understand your 5k cost of each knee replacement. Do you have Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplemental plan? Looking for advise on choosing which plan to sign up for when going on Medicare soon.
Normally the anesthesiologist is behind your head in the OR, so you wouldn't see him. Tylenol helps your pain drugs work better, but when your opiate runs out you might want to try ibuprofen instead. It's really effective for me. I had three wisdom teeth extracted and took one Vicodin pain pill later. I didn't like the way it made me feel, so I took ibuprofen instead and it was great. Last year, I passed a kidney stone and took a couple of ibuprofen before my wife took me to the ER. The receptionist was surprised when I walked in. She said people passing stones usually crawl in crying.
Hey all that stuff happens to me too they try to add symptoms to you that you don't have I am supposedly blind and I'm not they keep trying to add on that I got a high blood pressure too and I don't never have they take it off and it seems to keep coming back have a good day

Right. It was sort of in the budget though
You're looking good. It won't be long before you're up and about again. 🙂

My wife had hers done back in 2013 and it cost the same amount as minded. But why did Ken’s cost so much?
Maybe deductible
Great news, do as you are told and all will be well, thanks.
Glad it all went well😊
Me too thanks
Was the nurse serving as your patient advocate?
Haha yes that’s what it was
Good day to all. Your are moving, your good.

Man- u gotta find some better insurance if your Out of pocket was 5g's on each knee- if i heard that right?
Why did it cost $5000? Aren’t you on Medicare? Mine cost me $350 out-of-pocket three months ago.
Wife had hers done and it cost us nothing out of pocket. She on Medicare with a supplement.
