@@paul-nj1ig im not too good at music but from what i can tell its because of either volume, or its key being a bit lower than everything elses, this is also why rainbow road can be heard clearly too (except rainbow roads key is higher then everything else instead of lower)
Mixing theory (from what I know about it) suggests that this song is "higher" up than the other songs in the mix when it goes to the high pass filter section. That part is mostly empty in the full mix of all of the songs, which makes it clearer to hear.

If you were to make this a custom music track for the game, how long would it take until all of the songs fully loop? Or to put it another way, what is the lowest common multiple of the loop points of all individual songs? Well, here is the actual length of the loops of all the songs used in this song (assuming only course themes are used, and not battle arena themes): Well, let's just take two random ones. Bowser's Castle loops from 415744 to 2719766 samples. That's a length of 1764022 samples Coconut Mall loops from 487424 to 2349244 samples. That's a length of 1861820 samples. The lowest common multiple of these two numbers is 1,642,145,720,020. With a sample rate of 32,000 Hz, if we divide that by 32,000 we get 51317053.7506 seconds. That's 855284.2292 minutes or 14254.7372 hours or 593.9474 days or 1.6273 years So it would take more than 1.6 _years_ just for Bowser's Castle and Maple Treeway's loop points to eventually realign. Now, add a single other song... let's use Mushroom Gorge. That has a loop length of 1616905 samples. The LCM of 1616905, 1764022 and 1861820, is 531,038,725,085,787,620 samples. At 32000 Hz, that's about: 1,659,496,000,000 seconds or 276,582,669,000 minutes or 4,609,711,160 hours or 192,071,298 days 525,873.787 years So by simply adding _one_ more time, the total combined loop goes from just 1.6 years, to over 525,000 years. That's just for _THREE_ songs. Now keep doing this for the remaining songs, and you'll probably find that the total time it takes for _all_ of the different loop points to line up so that they all eventually start again at the same time, is unimaginably long. It's possible the entire universe will have died before it even gets _close_
i wanted to listen to the ost of mario kart but i was too lazy. thank you mate!
Me too friend me too
It sounds like you’re in an arcade
indeed I felt that too
For me it sounds like pain
Literally the only comment this video needs lol
As someone who's been to an arcade, I agree
I love how toads factory can still be heard incredibly clearly
why is that?

Very interesting, youre on to something with this but I believe it's subjective, everyone will hear different tracks differently

love how you can still easily hear the coconut mall "ding" at the start
0:05 coconut mall bell lmao
Just sounds like a midi conversion of the inside of an active school cafeteria/lunch room.
Hahahaha, absolutely!
0:34 the koopa cape steel drums.
1:59 You can distinctly hear GCN Mario Circuit here lol
0:44 too!
You've been coconut mall'd...I think.
0:57 and 1:28 I can barely but distinctly hear the {flute or whatever woodwind instrument it is} from Moonview Highway

Very musical, yes, but at what cost lol

Interestingly I didn't alter any loudness so if something becomes clearer because other songs got quieter to create more auditory space
@@hotdiggitydogtv Oh, I'm sorry. Then it's just coincidence, I guess. 🙂👍
@@hotdiggitydogtv Funny video, by the way. I like it.

I am listening to this whole thing at full volume with headphones. I regret this decision as I'm typing.
1:25 Moonview Highway
Yeah and at 1:00 too! In my opinion, it is one of the easiest distinguishable ones!
Ahahaha, funny!
*NOW DO IT WITH EVERY SINGLE TRACK IN THE ENTIRE SERIES INCLUDING RETRO AND BATTLE TRACKS*
I could only hear Moonveiw Highway, Gamecube Mario Circuit, Rainbow Road, and Daisy Circuit (I think).
I can mainly hear Bowser’s Castle and Moo Moo Meadows
This is the up-until-this-point standard rpg’s subversive final boss
This is beautiful
I love how I could basically hear Rainbow Road the entire time. That's how iconic the music is

1:52 The ending of Delfino Square.
I think it's especially a matter of focusing on one specific soundtrack at the time and knowing it which exact key it plays.
This will be my phone's ringtone.
ah hell yeah 😎
Maaan, I thought it was you playing all of the tracks in one go 😭
ok, do every one from every game
Ok now custom map this with every actual track being merged into one big map
MAKE IIIIIIIIT STOP!
