One of the best films ever. And such an important story to tell. I love how you showed how Sheryl was Coach Yoast's moral compass, and how, despite the times, Coach allows Sheryll to remind him that it's not a weakness to ask for help, it's a strength, so too is doing the right thing, despite the sacrifice.
@robertpalatsky5017 Thank you for your kind remarks! Remember the Titans is one of my favorite movies also. It tells a compelling story while making the audience laugh, pulling at their heart strings, and teaching valuable lessons. As you stated it is truly one of the greatest films ever made. I’m glad you enjoyed my video. Thanks for watching!
I read that Sheryl in real life was loyal to her father but that was magnified for the movie. Also, the real Sheryl had 3 sisters, she was not an only child. She was written as an only child as a tribute to her because she died really young due to a medical problem. A good situation where truth and rewrites came together to form a dynamic character.
@@UncleSam-bu9gz That’s awesome that you are a T.C. Williams alumni, and it is a phenomenal movie! Since it has some historical inaccuracies, it may not match everything you remember about the events surrounding the team. If you don’t think that will bother you then I highly recommend you watch the film. It is very inspiring and has wonderful life lessons about leadership, teamwork, and valuing people for their character rather than their race. The acting is great, multiple characters have strong character arcs, and the film score is highly emotional.
@@RelatableCinemaThanks I don't know if I will ever get off the fence on watching but I appreciate your thoughts. Good Luck and may God Bless America!
There are times when a child reminds us of the role we play as adults. That we should always be humble and stick to the principles we once had when we were younger. Hayden Panettiere did a great job in this role. For an actual 9 year old, she held her own in scenes with Will Patton and Denzel Washington.
In the video I focused more on Sheryl’s character than Hayden Panettiere as a child actress. I appreciate you pointing out that not only her character had a bold presence among the coaches and players, but that the young actress gave a powerful performance amidst seasoned actors. Thank you for watching and commenting! 👍🏼
@@RelatableCinema I coached youths for 24 years of my life. In the later years, most of those teams were young girls. There were times when I needed to be reminded for everyone to have fun, I was always fascinated on how competitive they were. The character of Sheryl Yoast reminded me of so many of my former players. They could dissect plays and get emotional about it. As a coach, it makes you proud when you see the lightbulb go off in the minds.
One of my favorite 5 movies ever made. This and RUDY are 2 of the best football movies IMHO. Hayden Panettiere was absolutely needed in this movie. Her fire for the game was a key part. She was her dad's conscience. " Remember the Titans "
I hope you enjoyed this close look 👀 at Sheryl Yoast in Remember the Titans. How have children inspired you to be your best self, and what are some other memorable moments you love in this classic film? 🎬

Graduated TCW in '73. I remember ALL of this but never watched the film. Glad it has been well received.

I always saw her as a big part of this movie.

Do what is right!
@@TB-jq5cr It always pays off in the long run.
Hayden pennitiere before she became famous
Sheryl was too cool in this story. She's the daughter fathers want if we couldn't have a Son. 😅😅
Well said!
She finds it easy to speak the truth because she will spend every day of her life telling people how to spell her name.
I would have liked you to touch on how she started out racist as well but eventually changing.
If she did that to me would be different. I'd be tolerant of that unlike them their that weren't.
I always thought the movie would have been better had the Cheryl character been written out.
