I've had two experiences where I saw and heard things that were sacred. I knew exactly who they were and what they sounded like because of the Spirit. My spiritual eyes were open, as it were, in that moment. You *know*!

We moved to Hawaii in 1990 and I was called as Elders Quorum president. I was called to a home to give a blessing to the father or mother I do not remember which. As I layed my hands on the one to receive the blessing and closed my eyes I saw a vision of the Savior dressed in white with a red sash over His shoulder standing next to the Heavenly Father dressed in white with a blue sash over his shoulder smiling at us during the blessing. It was such a sweet feeling I have always cherished. Yes, both the father and mother were 100% Polynesian.
I served in the California Anaheim Mission. We were allowed to go to the LA Temple once every 6 months. I love this temple. It holds a very tender place in my heart as it reminds me of the happiest months of my life.
I did my Dad's Temple work in the Los Angeles Temple. He was baptized on the 50th anniversary of that Temple. Ir has very special meaning for me too. I was baptised in the California Los Angeles California mission on August 21st of 1982. I left California after being baptised and decided to serve a full time mission after moving to Texas.. Where are you did I serve.... The California San bernardino mission.
I just listened to your recounting of the amazing and blessed experience this year sister had in Joseph Smith's family home!! I have often imagined the experience of meeting or seeing heavenly beings, particularly God the Father and His Son Jesus Christ, as appearing exactly like the description here I her letter. Oh how wonderful and blessed these people were to be given such a gift! I truly appreciate you having shared it with us today! ❤ Thank you! I can't imagine being worthy enough to be invited to witness a vision Such as hers! I'm 67 in September, and I am trying, but have only been active the early years through the early twenties of my life, and active again for the past 6-7 years. I feel like an infant in my understanding and education in the gospel. But I am striving to be worthy, but I fail often in my attempts to read, study and learn. These channels of podcasts are a huge help for me, because I have never been a good reader. Thank you for what you do here, and for continuing to share these amazing wonderful experiences of people from the past as well as the present. When you highlighted that this person felt weak and trembled (from the spiritual experience she was having), I had a similar experience when I was a missionary in Japan during the dedication of the Tokyo temple. There was an all-Japan missionary meeting with President Kimball and the other general authorities attending. During that meeting we sang a song, which I recall was "Come Listen to a Prophet's Voice" during which I was overcome by the spirit so much I could not continue to sing and shook from the confirmation I had that this work we were doing was divine and we were fulfilling those verses to "teach and testify each day." Never had that same experience since, and never forgot it.
I dearly love the Polynesians!! They played a major role in my conversion and grounding in the gospel as a new convert! ❤
I was sealed in the LA Temple in 92 it is my favorite Temple! I feel the spirit ✨️ of God so strong it makes me feel emotional. ❤I love the Temple so much, I'm a Temple worker now in the Redlands Temple! ❤️🥰💐🥰💙🙏🏻✨️
The Holy Ghost tells you who they are. These things are given to strengthen faith and testimony, they are not given to entertain the world.
This really has a lot of to think about and study on. About angelic choirs - it is not recorded in the text, but in October 2004 General Conference, Pres. Thomas S. Monson commented after the children's choir had sung. If you watch the video of "the sustaining of church officers" or listen to audio, he says before presenting those for sustaining at the request of President Hinckley: "Wasn't that singing beautiful by the children. We miss today, of course, Elder David B. Haight, Elder Neal A. Maxwell. I'm sure where they've been called to labor, there are children - just like the children here." It stood out to me with it being about three years after I'd buried my son - I had sung primary songs so many times while pregnant with him, and then would sing to him during his brief life and even as we were holding him as he took his last mortal breath. So to hear the singing, then have Pres. Monson say this really felt as if he was confirming that my little son had been part of the choir singing it to me. I've always wondered about him saying this, as it suggests there are Children Spirits. I've now buried two children in infancy, so I had believed that children are in a "prime age" form in the Spirit World, but this seemed as if Pres. Monson thought of them in their child age. Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Jared, Thank you for sharing this today. My mother is Ewan Harbrecht- the soprano soloist mentioned in Saints Vol 3 singing the song "Bless This House" at both the Bern and Los Angeles Temple dedications. She is no longer with us, but many times shared with her family how spiritual these dedications were. She was also blessed to see the heavens opened and hear heavenly music at both dedications. A little over a year after the Los Angeles Temple dedication, she and my father George Mitton were married/sealed in the Salt Lake Temple by President McKay.
When we were stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany , 1975-78 , we’d go to the Swiss Temple in Bern, Switzerland. ( I was born & raised in Germany & also had 4 years of High School French. ) It would take 4-5 hours on the autobahn. They had a hostel/ small trailer to stay overnight & a nursery area inside the temple for the “ nursing mothers “ & long-distance visitors. The Temple President knew several languages & he taught us many special lessons. What a blessing it was to be able to have had this temple! ❤😊
When I went to New Zealand on my mission, I simply can’t describe to you the beauty of that place, but the people were the jewels.
The beautiful warmth and family and belonging and love that I felt are indelibly printed on my mind and heart forever.

I'm going to keep saying it. The Saints books are a valuable resource that we need to use. Just listen to them if you don't have time to grab a book.
Hi Jared. I attended a dedication of one of the Utah temples in the chapel of our Nephi stakehouse. We had to show our recommend. As we were singing the opening song l heard a clear male voice singing with us above and behind the congregation. Enough to make me look up behind me. My friend sitting next to me also turned and looked. We looked at each other knowingly. Afterwards we both felt it was a voice from a heavenly being. It was a very good feeling.
Your comment about these visitations often occurring at temple dedications brrouht the marvelous thought of how wonderful it will be when a temple is dedicated nearly every week of the year! I will reflect upon his this will be such a blessing to the world! So much Light!
Most people who would have such an experience would not share it, so it may be difficult for you to have many of those. This was really wonderful. Thank you for sharing this.
I wonder why the Pentecostal experiences that happened at the Kirtland Temple are so well known, while nowadays Saints are told to keep their experiences quiet.
@kkempe8731 I wonder if it is bc the early saint needed so many miracles, visitations and manifestations to have such strength that the church foundation and structure could b established well enough to withstand all that would follow to challenge it and the saints.

My husband and I, as converts, were sealed in the LA House eif the Lord in 1986. Although I've never really liked the architecture, the inside is incredibly beautiful. Of all the temples I have visited, it is the most beautiful, in my opinion.
WE too should be house of the LORD our bodies should Hold the Lord

Re: weakness after spiritual experiences. I feel weak every time I go to the temple. I have to come home and take a nap. I think that for some of us, just the spiritual experience saps our strength. I attend the temple weekly, so it's not because I'm not used to it.
I also have had the experience of hearing a choir (a men's choir, singing The Spirit of God like a Fire), and have experienced other amazing things, too sacred to recount here.
the LA Ca HOTL (temple) is special to me too. I took out my endowments and was sealed there.
What a special experience. This lady definitely had faith before her miracle. That would have been so profound to experience
4:55 The German document linked on the footnote in "Saints" is actually a transcript of the talk given 50 years earlier by Joseph F. Smith. The prophecy about "Tempel Gottes" (temples of God) being built in various lands is in the next to the last paragraph of that section. He also says the Gospel (Evangelium) must be spread over the whole world. The last paragraph is his Apostolic blessing on the people.
I was not able to go to our Bountiful Temple dedication, but we had many different friends tell us that they heard heavenly chiors.

Hmm, I believe I have a photo that my grandfather took of President McKay giving that talk. Wait, what I have is a photo of President McKay speaking out in front of the Los Angeles Temple.
I did step into its assembly room one time.
Also, Alvin R. Dyer saw President McKay in the spirit at a temple dedication after President McKay had passed away, I believe at the Oakland Temple. I think I sent an e-mail about that before.
23:27 In those moments when God shows you something, it is not just the sight he gives you. He gives you the understanding too. You just somehow know things. So it is not surprising to me that she knew who they were, as that would be the type of information that the Spirit would give you for context of such a vision.
That lady, Lorraine, said that God the Father wasn't easy to see, but she could differentiate Jesus Christ.

I'm not aware that the Bern Temple still has a assembly room. A couple decades there was a large remodeling where I was told changes to the amounts of rooms / layout of the temple were made...

One possibility for the double numbers 55,77... Think of Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven, or all thing were created spiritually before they were created physically, a sort of mirring effect think temple and mirrors... Also ee are dual natured beings having physical bodies and immortal spirit souls ( loosely described) but there is power when both are unified, when our choices and our will align with the will of the father!

As I have personally had and seen many profound spiritual experiences in part because I have spiritual sight which is not the same as being a prophetic seer , I have also had prophetic personal visions my experiance of this story of the appearance of heavenly beengs is 100% correct and I testify that myself along with others I have spoken to in depth have also had this kind of profound spiritual experience and god is no respector of persons and he will appear to whome he wishes or even let himself just be seen on location by the worthy and faithful, however, I also know that the adversaries will also apear and claim to be god and they will usualy present themselves in a way the boosts the viewers ego and pride and self importance in some way or make demands.
There was a fad in the church to people to want to have a personal visitation by christ and I have known such people and they have had such an experience but fail to realise the experience is a responsibility, not just a fun conversation piece and then also the adversaries will come in strength , there is still the spiritual war going on all around us and those who become more responsible must then become even more vigilant .
Interesting insights! President Nelson just said the Lord is willing to manifest himself to his people in every dedicated temple. Many more people could be having encounters with the Savior!

The LA Temple does not have live endowment. However, the last time I went to it, you actually move from room to room to room so you start out in the tool room and then go to the terrestrial room after the men I’ll have to stand up and then, of course you would go into the celestial room, similar to different the Manti Temple
I am 8.2 % Cherokee, 9.4 % from Spain 8.3 from Italy. The rest of course is from British England Scotland Irish etc. Ancestry discoveries from 2 different resources in 2017. Question I have is and I am pretty sure of my answer, and that is Cherokee heritage is from Nephi/ Lehi/ Joseph? I am also from the House of Ephraim.
It is my experience, and I have spoken to may people regarding spiritual matters that the Polynesian and pre American cultures do indeed have a higher than average propensity to have and seek out spiritual experience because they seem to have an ability to believe in its existence, where other cultures seem to in general first must firs be convinced that such things even exist.
Longer hair is also beneficial to having spiritual experiences and was even studied by the us government with there what was called Indian scouts .

When it comes to Gospel Essays, Saints or any other official church publication, I don't have a problem with it. The church has the Correlation Committee to make sure everything is doctrinally sound. If those same authors produce their own private works, then I would probably be more critical of those.
