Giant Pop-Up Constructions - India - Railway Underpass in 5 Hours • Giant Railway Underpas...
It is the largest folk festival in the world: the Munich Oktoberfest. A gigantic pop-up fair complete with beer halls, roller coasters and booths on an area the size of 50 football fields. During the two-week festival, more than six million visitors flock to the 38 marquees, 170 rides, booths and shops. Something for everyone.
Ten weeks are needed for project Octoberfest on a dedicated fairground near the Olympia Stadium. There must be no delays during assembly. Everything must be in place on opening day. We'll be there when a new team sets up the largest festival tent, the Hofbräu tent, for the first time.
The new team is expecting around 100 truckloads of unknown material and hundreds of thousands of individual parts in the next few weeks. It goes without saying that nerves are stretched taut and tension is running high. Missing elements or faulty assembly put the timely completion of the work in great danger.
We also accompany the construction of the largest transportable roller coaster in the world with five giant loops. 50 truckloads must be assembled in 20 days and inspected by TÜV. At dizzying heights, the workers have to join the steel parts weighing tons. Don’t forget the time pressure element. In spite of everything, the crane operator must remain calm. One manoeuvre too fast and he could kill a worker with the three to four tonne parts. In numerous time-lapse perspectives, we experience how this gigantic pop-up construction unfolds bit by bit.

The overly dramatic narration, which sounds like a parody at times, especially when you can clearly see how relaxed the dubbed person is, makes it hard to believe that the documentary's content is actually surprisingly ok.
Makes it more interesting doesn't bother me
I'm not even German but I feel a calling to visit at least once. I owe it to my beer belly
I tell you one thing, at night the rides look better than half of American carnival rides we have here. The lights are amazing, fog machines and techno music is what i love about these European fairs.
"Safety is paramount during the constructing of this massive coaster". That's probably why nobody is wearing a helmet :-)
would a helmet work with a 3 ton steel part....
@@30chrismuc No, but it might save someone if a bolt accidentally falls from 30 m above.
@@CH67guy1 with Bolts of that size - i Doubt it
But bettet Safe than …
@@30chrismuc Yes, I agree with you. Better safe than sorry.
Assembling that roller coaster I saw so many chances that someone fall, lose fingers, get crushed, etc.
9:00am here in Wisconsin, USA. This is just jaw dropping. I'm mesmerized.
This is so insanely incredible!
Most intelligent words I've heard.
Crypto is the new gold.
I wanted to trade Crypto but got discouraged by the fluctuations in price,
Das ganze ist noch viel geiler wenn man das Deutsch im Hintergrund versteht 😂
WOW I'm super early today, 2:09 Am Saturday here in New Zealand, I watch all your videos love them🖤💯
Them Setting up the roller coaster gave made me nervous! Geesh what a dangerous job!
Absolutely fantastic👌👌👌🔥 Hard work makes it all this much attractive 🔥👌
Really good documentary. Very interesting. I definitely have check this out within the future.
Wow! What a feat of ingenuity! Hats off to all the construction workers, ride owners, tent raisers, beer maids & maidens, beer distributors, chefs, food servers, entertainers, stall owners, the sanitation workers/cleaners, all the managers of the various tents, grounds keepers, and most importantly the inspectors who must certify every aspect for the safety for the citizens & tourist! This was a really wonderful documentary! Hopefully everyone has made a profit and nobody had a loss! 🇩🇪👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🍺🍺🍺 Fest at its best! 🍺🍺🍺👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🇩🇪
Am just excited about this doc. I can't wait to see how they overcome time build this gigantic roar coasters
They truly did it. It was really great.
What they really did was beyond human knowledge
Great video. Thanks for posting this. Have a nice day now.
It is really nice to visit! Been on the Olympia Looping as well, a great rollercoaster :-)
surely just install permanent tents? I get it when it comes to rides (e.g Olympia/Munich Looping) but the tents, toilets etc could surely be kept where they are..?
Thank you :)
I really must book and go see this for myself
Big Park 2b made in 10weeks... Well done Germany knows how 2bulid well!!
This one was great
I love your videos, its amazing to see a small city be built in ten weeks, Every person involved deserves a pat on the back and a bonus. One thing I understand that in Germany its usual practice to use the metric system, is there any way you could have a conversion chart for those of us older people that aren't familiar with the metric system. That would make it a lot more interesting just a thought. Great video, keep up the good work.👍
I so want to go to this!
There some yummy cute Germans I see. Wow ❤️❤️
They should make some type of go kart track that flies around the city through buildings and places with cool lights inside of it, not only does it get you where you wanna go you can race and have fun on the way lol
Wow 🤩
Mmm, October fest, that was good times on my travel thru Germany. Prost * * *
I used to work on the fun fair and it's hard work great videos. 👌👊
Love watching the channel!
Narrator” the new cover can withstand gail force winds of over 100km an hour”
Next scene tarp :”rrriiippp”
Drinkin beer and doin some construction
Very awesome engineering! I grew up close to Munich, oktoberfest was a regular thing in my early childhood, usually ended up with mom upset at the condition my dad left the tents! Seemed like a blast when young but now I realize what it is all about! It made me hate the alcohol, imagine if we had events to celebrate the holy weed on a scale like this! To celebrate nature & life instead of lust & consumption! Love&blessings
I like the way you write. Hugs !
@@kreterakete thanks friend, 😊 I usually get a Lotta animosity for my perspectives & a little encouragement never hurt anyone! The truth might be obscene, but it can never be a sin! Hugs right back to you!
Why no permanent structures? Amazing crane operator for his age
That coaster needs painting every year because it only gets set up 3 times a year and is in storage the rest of the time. It takes too long to set up to be part of the regular fair circuit and takes up too much space for most venues as well.
after October fest it goes to London for Christmas right?
@@Eaglescout217 Every second year I believe.
That is impressive! But why can't they just leave it standing all year round?
Because the site hosts lots of other events throughout the year
I'm super early today herein Uganda
Imagine what this must do for the local economy that they would spend this kind of money each year like plumbing, and new buildings to go u
And removed shortly after.
Yep the Oktoberfest is a huge deal. For all involved.
and yes your right it does boost the local economy a bit but after about 6months all the hours wear off and they cut half the staff. its all a show
just imagine 600k+ people per day, lest say on average each person spends $100 that's $60M each day for the duration of the festival.
@@MrGGJ7 thats why the government controls it
its about a billion....
We need cannabis Christmas Fest!
CannaFest across the U.S.
Wow
Will there be a demolition documentary as well?????
It´s not really demolition, they dismantle everything and use it in the following year.
How do they keep track of the bar tabs? A lot of free beer I bet there
you pay each beer while you get it. so not a single free beer there. :(
Safety is paramount especially when 80% of the visitors are drunk lol and why wouldn't ride operators check the parts before even traveling there for set up
Why don’t they just keep it up throughout the year?
@thomaslou the space it’s used for other things throughout the year, like Winter Tollwood etc.
Also the different rides like Olympia Looping are standing on different funfairs in Germany around the year.
Munich looping is normaly seen in winterwonderland London like Christmas 2021 now
@11:00 just enjoying a nice smoke
And then Covid happened …
Yep. Don’t think anyone expected it to last this long.
Excellent documentary, well researched, very interesting stories, and the most impressive part - "Hofbräuhaus" was correctly pronounced! That's a very refreshing change from other dokumentaries that are quickly thrown together. It adds credibility. Fistbump for that 👊😎
Lol why not just leave up All year
Thank you! That’s been my thought all along. There are other world class annual events that stay set up all year long why not this one?
where do people go to the bath room?
The tents have own toilets directly connected to the munich sewage system and there are also many public toilets spread all over the entire fair.
"safety is paramount" - dude walking around topless with no hard hat or high vis
Cowboys 🤠 🤠 🤠 🤠 🤠 🤠 🤠 🤠
Up up they go 🎡🎢
I don't think this would be possible in the US, there's too much red tape and greed it would never be completed.
I would probably use a Helmet
Why have the layout plans never been updated with changed from the previous year??? This is poor planning and dereliction...
I think it’s safe to say German technicians know what they’re doing.
It would be so much easier if everybody just stayed home and got drunk.
Tar-poon? Like a girl I knew named La' Brea?
All this beer, but where is everybody supposed to pee?
Its 930am in North Carolina, USA
If it happens every year and it takes so long to construct, why not just leave it there permanently?
Because the ground is needed for other events.
Also the different rides like Olympia Looping are standing on different funfairs in Germany around the year.
Mrs Richards: "I paid for a room with a view!"
Basil: (pointing to the lovely view) "That is Torquay, Madam."
Mrs Richards: "It's not good enough!"
Basil: "May I ask what you were expecting to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House, perhaps? the Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically past?..."
Mrs Richards: "Don't be silly! I expect to be able to see the sea!"
Basil: "You can see the sea, it's over there between the land and the sky."
Mrs Richards: "I'm not satisfied. But I shall stay. But I expect a reduction."
Basil: "Why?! Because Krakatoa's not erupting at the moment ?
13:23
if its in the same place every year. why do they need to reconstruct everything every year
Its simple: This place is also used for other events, so they have to dismantle everything again and store it for next year.
How many Germans does it take to change a lightbulb?
Only one, because Germans are efficient and don’t have the time for humour 🤣
😷😷😷
Wouldn’t it be cheaper to leave the stuff up? Weird.
it would be...but then there is no change ...and not the spirit in building it...believe me...its this cities 5 th season
Why wouldn’t they just leave the construction up
Because the need the space for other events.
Also the different rides like Olympia Looping are standing on different funfairs in Germany around the year.
They didn't show where all the toilets were and explain how so such a large volume of urine would be dealt with.
Really? You want to know where the Urin goes? PortaPotties.
That´s the easiest question to answer:
The tents are directly connected to the munich sewage system. The medical treatment of the many wasted people on the other hand really is a problem each year.
@@FreeDocumentary The number of mobile toilets is, in fact, extremely small.
@@phoe8523 Thanks for the answer! :D Yes, I can imagine it's a total nightmare dealing with all those drunk people. That's one of the reasons this documentary is disappointing, because it shows one side of the story.
It’s 48 minutes of blaming the new guy
fun fact ulrich pletschacher is russell crowes body double during filming :D
just kidding
As much as I’ll like to go to this place.. as a black person. I know I won’t be welcome there.
I want to go but I’m black lol
If You believe in Your Heart That Jesus Died On The Cross And Rose again On The Third Day And Confess With Your Mouth That Jesus Is Lord then you will be saved
im gonna be evil. COVID
Hah first
All this temporary construction for an annual event is sickening.
Arcana Octonus, just wondering in what way do you mean it's "sickening" ?? 🤔🤔😂😂
Understand if the sickening didn't have the ing on the end, it's pretty "SICK" if you ask me lol that's some feat right there!!
As CNN would say...super spreader
That's exactly why it was cancelled in 2020 and 2021
Why would you like to be there between all those people?
Terrible!
And than all that drinking 🤮🤢
I wouldn’t step foot in this festival there inspections probably don’t even exist no thanks
