Lovely romantic feeling, unabashedly found in that era. Reminds me of hearing Leonid Kogan start his recital at Hunter College in NYC, circa 1964 with Handel Sonata # 6 in E major. Exquisite tone, and just a soupcon of all the fireworks to follow. But, as an expectant violin student, I knew the full bow, great vibrato, were just him warming up, yet instructing us on how a great violinist can be thrilling even within the limited range of what was available in a baroque sonata. Of course, today, no-one dares play this way. Thanks so much for offering this heart-felt , authentic delight.
Glad to hear that you liked it. I don't know very well the violin what Heimo used on this, but i know that violin was made in Austria circa 1750 era. Violin was borrowed from famous violin collectors collection.
Thank you so much for your replay. What a coincidence )) One of my violins was made in the middle of 18th century and it Austrian as well. I would like to thank you again for posting this marvelous recording. Regards and all the best!

Unbearable vibrato. For this style of playing he must chose completely different music.
