Oh Mr Carrington. I loved your travel vlog. My late father used t work on the railway. He passed away when I was 7 in 1969. I knew about París but I didn't realise you could go by train to brussels. This was fab next time hubby and I are on london. We hope to do that trip. We always stay with family in North London. Kings cross is so close on the piccadilly line for us to travel from. Thank you for that wonderful trip. I had forgotten how glorious the Grand Place is - years ago I visited when there was a massive patterned carpet of fresh flowers filling the whole square. So beautiful. Worth checking if this is still done and making a special trip. Love your hotel, quirky room, and so central for the city and eating out. Lots of fun statues and art installations.

Gorgeous, everywhere... not what I thought of Brussels at all... the hotel, so-o-o stylish, the views at night of the different restaurants, bistros, shops, pubs - street places, theatre and cinema, and especially the tiny pub - what a find... I can't LIST everything I loved, what a brilliant vlog. Actually came on just to praise your camera-eye late in the vlog, taking time out filming the rain on the tawny old stone flagged pavements. Oh, those wet stones! Beautiful. 😍 ....more, please... Wd translate to tv, all you producers out there...

That was such a lovely trip. Never been to Brussels, it looks fascinating. Great architecture, really love the old buildings. Food looks so good😋 How on earth did you manage to avoid the chocolate shops?🤔😇 I used to travel quite a lot, then illness came and now I'm disabled and mostly in a chair, though I can still walk I can't walk far. I have noticed how very difficult it is to get around many places, it's not something I ever gave any thought too...I don't think any of us do tbh while we're able bodied...but so many places are out of bounds now, steps, many shops, buildings of interest, transport etc. This is why I really enjoy your holiday videos Mr.C😚I had so many countries I was going to explore and thinking I had plenty of time to fit them all in, until the SHTF and what-have-you. Thanks for taking us all with you, it was smashing☺

Hello! I loved the place you stayed in. Very well themed, but a little bit to dark to live there. Loved the cat cushion covers, and you managed to make a cat friend. Never been to Belgium, and now I think it would be a great scape destination, although not travel by train, its around 9 hours from Barcelona! Thank you for taking us with you, you are a great guide. ❤

Such a great video. I have never been to Brussels , but have now added it to our ever growing list of places to visit. The b&b was just lovely. It was the sort of place that we would look at booking … a ‘middle of the road’ type of accommodation. Would love to see more of these types of places to stay. Thanks so much for these great tips.

Please please go to Italy and stay in a vineyard. It's my dream and I'm just wondering if it's worth dreaming about. I also thought of doing a trip to Italy to a cooking school what fun that would be.

Love your city break videos :) I think a mid-range hotel/accomodation is the one that interests me most as I normally travel as a young family of four so we look for a good price but also want quality/safety x
Now, if RUclips also had a virtual food sampler, then this trip, with you, would have been perfect! Still, I suppose that I do have a home baked rhubarb, cherry and orange rock bun to look forward to... really enjoyed your trip, thank you for taking us all with you.

Absolutely loved this travel vlog around Brussels .. The B&B looks like everything i look for when travelling, a boutique hotel that is obviously high end at low cost prices.. well done and breakfast too, Now i want to visit there too 🙂A great way to travel for a 24hr visit.. very random bit of info but China town in Singapore has a Tin Tin museum if you ever go there. Now i need to purchase that amazing travel plug for my next travel trip to Italy coming up .. Thanks Mr C as always .
I used to live in Mons, Belgium and we'd go to Brussels a lot. We'd sometimes drive but mostly we'd take the train. This was just a lovely vlog and I thank you for sharing. It was so nice going down memory lane. I literally crave those waffles!!! ❤❤

I’m a massive Eurostar fan! Their ticket prices in the sale are excellent value to all sorts of destinations. We went onto Bruges from Brussels at Xmas 2022 and the trains are so efficient. I work at an airport, so being able to take liquids through security is a joy! A long while since I stayed in Brussels, but it might be time for a return trip!

I went to Brussels a couple of years ago for work, was only there for 2 nights (1 full day) so only got a quick visit round the square after work when we were taken out for dinner. As my colleague was from Brussels, she was able to tell us the history of some of the buildings/statues. It was also Jan so was very wet. Would love to visit for longer in better weather. Hotel was beautiful. Great find.

Visited Brussels 12 years ago ,brought back memories as you visited the Grand place ,and Mannequin Pis .We stayed a few days did some bus tours to Bruge and Ghent then went on to Amsterdam.TFS

What a great little trip. I loved the accommodation; interesting location and the decor felt homey. I worried about the noise and lights disturbing your sleep and was happy to hear it wasn't bad. The yummy waffle was the perfect way to finish off the trip!

Great vlog, thank you for showing some highlights of Brussels. I visted about 38 years ago when inter-railing as a student. Remember the mannequin pis and we visited the Tin Tin museum. Dont remember the gorgeous square, i need to go back!! Xxx
I visited Brussels when I was a teenager in 1972. Glad to see that the Mannekin Pis is still greeting tourists and sporting some classy outfits. 😂

Iwan! I love your travels. It must be wonderful living where you do being close to so many places of interest in different countries.. All I could think of, honestly, was Neuhaus chocolates. North Park in Dallas had a store at one time. Thank you for showing us the window with the bust of Mr. Neuhaus! Your hotel really was cool.

Hi Mr C, Happy Sunday! The weather is still so cold here that I was just thinking this morning that I wanted to do lots of short European trips this year so this vid is right on time. I haven't been to Brussels yet so it's one to tick off my bucket list by the end of 2024. The good thing is that Eurostar is always having sales so globetrotting around Europe will be right up my street for this summer. Love that you did such a lot in a short space of time as it gives me ideas for my future itinerary. Have a great week and see you on the next one!

Great vlog. Well, now that's a great idea as I'm only 5 mins from Ebbsfleet Intl, although Eurostar no longer stop there or Ashford anymore. A bonus is I don't have to pay for HS1 into St Pancras retired railway worker. Although I lost my International Travel on retirement as I wasn't ex BR. Didn't know you could get to Brussels so cheaply. I'll have to look out for their sales. I'm not surprised that you found a cat to stroke either!
That was a clatty 'water fountain' in Pret! I bet you were wishing you had packed half a lemon and some bicarb! My Top Tip is if you book the quiet zone on a train - go check the other carriages as everyone books the quiet carriage and it ends up being packed and noisy... 🤪
