I enjoy going back and watching your earlier videos. You’ve come so far as a resin artist and teacher. I have the double sided Let’s Resin lamp with the tray. I can see trying this experiment in my studio. ❤
Okay, took me a few days longer to get to this, *but* ... IT WORKS!! WOO-HOO! It really does work! Even for me! LOL 😅 Just wanted to let you know, Daniel. I used the 2 large ovals instead of the hearts, but they did just fine!
Very helpful! I am a nube, but I cut my multi molds apart so I could create one at a time; or even make more than one style without disturbing the other molds
That’s great you’re getting those results with UV resin, I wouldn’t have thought that would work at all.😆 But, I don’t know much about UV resin.😂 I had a thought that might make curing the underside easier. If you have an old picture frame that you can take the glass out of and just use cups or something as ‘legs’ to hold it up.. put the mold on that, then just slide the UV lamp underneath it. I always enjoy your experiments Daniel. Great job!
I'm definitely going to have to try this! Thank you so much for experimenting with this technique using UV Resin! I'm fairly new to working with UV, but I had an idea while watching this video that I thought I'd share. It may be easier for you to cure the bottom of the mold if you place the mold on top of a cookie cooling rack (one that has fairly tall legs so you can easily slide the UV lamp under it without touching the rack). That way you can just move the lamp around to the top/bottom as needed without needing to touch the mold.
Ohhhh interesting. I'm thinking I could have my mold on top of my large UV torch. Then I don't have to pick up to cure the bottom first. Thanks for the inspiration 😁
These are both so beautiful. Have you tried using a piece of glass to cure from the bottom first? That would probably stop more movement and keep it flat
This is fascinating and definitely something I'm going to try as im still experimenting. I wonder if a peice of clear perspex may solve the issue of the mould flexing, it would give more stability to lift it if curing from the underside first. Also I use a microwaveable hotwater bottle pad to keep my resin warm as I found I was too slow on wiping the water off the pots with my gumpy thumbs. 😁
Hi Daniel, I love your pen neon effect video, it reminds me of jewelry of the Sixties. But I use uv resin, I found that if you cure your pieces fully, then turn over still in the mold and put under the lamp, it will fully cure. I find that you have to cure uv about 6 minutes or more under the lamps. Thank you for your vides
Giving this a try tonight, Daniel! Woo-HOO! I have really struggled to do *anything* like this with my UV, and...blobs. Nuttin' but ugly blobs and no swirls, and even my blobs weren't nearly as nice looking as yours! 😄l THANK YOU SO MUCH for figuring this out! 😊❤ P.S. Considering how inexpensive the mold currently is, maybe you could get another one and cut it apart? Might make it easier to cure...but maybe it would wobble too much. Hmmm. Might be worth it to make our own silicone molds if we could find translucent silicone!
You can get a two minute cycle if you hold the power button down when First turning it on,,, just hold it down until the light comes on… that will trigger the two minute cycle :) I use this little lamp and the Let's Resin UV Resin….I love their products…
@@daniel..cooper no problem :) glad I could help!!! The way they made this lamp with the lights on the sides as well as the top makes a world of difference in the way things are cured… they cure better and faster… I wish they would make a bigger lamp…
@@daniel..cooper nope… that lamp there is the larger lamp… all the others just have the lights on the top of the lamp and not down the sides like the Let's Resin Lamp… to get a bigger lamp, one has to invest in the lamps that nail technicians use… At least here in the states, that lamp in their kit is the biggest one they have…
Your work is beautiful 😍. Thank you so much for sharing!!! These videos have helped my husband and I expand our knowledge of this craft. We've just started a few months ago... What brand of the dye do you suggest?🤔 We have been using the brand "let's resin" ... The hard type... But we haven't got into dyes yet. We like it still having issues with bubbles. We haven't tried the alcohol spray yet... We do like the grill lighter though. But it doesn't seem to get the bubbles further down in the resin. Sometimes that's frustrating lol. But again thanks for the videos! Muchly appreciated ☺️
Just wondering if you had a second light; and a glass table or something raised to rest the mold on and then cured both sides at once…..so you didn’t have to move the mold at all ?
Can you set the resin cups on a heating pad, like you use when you pull a muscle, on low so it heats from the bottom or does it have to have the heat come from all sides as the hot water bath does?
Those look great! I don't think I could pull those off. UV resin just makes me want to kick puppies any more. I can't get it to do what I want. It brings out my evil angry. 😆
Do you heat up the resin to avoid bubbles? I was using UV resin and found bubbles appeared when using the UV on it. I was using the resin with a wood frame.
I tried this, but my pieces come out sticky 🫣😭Have any of your pieces come out “sticky”? If so, how did you get it not to stick in the first place and if it comes out sticky is there a way to remedy it?
It could be your light, must be 36w or could be oxygen inhibition, try taking from mold after curing and pop straight into water and cure again whilst in the water for 1min 😊 Let me know how it goes, I'm making a vid on this... this week 😊
@@daniel..cooper Oh my gosh it worked! 😭💕💕💕💕💕 Thank you! I looked up the oxygen inhibition and you nailed it. Once I popped it into water and cured it with my light, no more sticky mess. 😍 You’ve got a new subscriber✨
I've been trying to get help because apparently I'm doing it wrong. My jdiction device has 3 settings- 60, 90, 150 seconds. Even at the lowest setting, the dye I add shrinks up and deforms the resin slightly. And when I demold, there is a sticky mess. Using high viscosity.
@@daniel..cooper thanks for replying. Other channels did not reply. I guess i can only add a little dye but I wanted to color the whole resin, I know it's possible. Unless they were using the dye on the bottom or something. I still don't understand the device's times- like 90 seconds. Is 90 seconds really enough for anything?
I have tried this 100 times and wasted a whole bottle of uv resin 😭😭😭. Why can't I get it right? No matter how fast I go my color starts sinking before I'm even done dripping it. Help please 🙏

Thanks, perfect solution! This is why I love sharing and comments like this! Brilliant suggestion 😊😊😊
Good idea. I use a see through tub ( a takeaway one lol ) and put the uv light in upside down. I can rest the mould on top then.
@@stevesairsoft3457 That’s a great idea! Resin is one of those hobbies that requires getting extra creative sometimes.😊

Danke!
Thanks so much for the Super Thanks 🥰
-thank you! I am practicing blooming tonight and this is very helpful. I may have a special set of applicators for the paste mix!
Looks like a BEAUTIFUL flower❤
So pretty, blobbing and all.
Thanks Donna 😊
Beautiful work, thank you. Best wishes from Romania!👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️❤️❤️❤️
I feel ya on needing individual molds. I ended up cutting my molds to make them individual 🥰
Those lamps often have cut outs on the legs, so you can use them with the legs folded down and keep it flatter when doing the underneath
Oh WOW! I love your work !!
thank you for doing this because I wondered too and I never tried blooming yet.

ok now i now i need to try this
I love this idea. I just started trying UV resin. Not sure if I like it, but I'm definitely going to try this. Thank you so much for sharing
If you were to tip the lamp on it's leg, and use the outside mold, you can set the mold right on the lights.
Amazing
Thank you 😊
These turned out very cool
Can it be done with alcohol inks for the color, then using the white like you did?
Sadly UV resin really dislikes alcohol inks Coral :(
Great job 👏
Thanks Tracey 😊
Love it! 💙❤
Thanks Dawn :)
I turn the mold over and it works good

I bought clear acrylic and glass computer monitor stands. If you got one of those you could put the light underneath and mix in the mold on top.
I found the first one pretty even with the blobbing. Btw, I'm new to resin.

Uh, direi ottimo! 😊 Ma manca lo sfondo nero. 🤣 Ciao Daniel, stasera niente Google. 😅
Good old Google! 😂🤣
Have you tried using a glass or resin rack to set the piece on so you wouldn't have to hold the mold?
These are cool. Is that your favorite light and resin to use? I read somewhere you need 75 watts or above. 😊
Yes and yes :) Thanks Mary :)

Lay a pice of glass on the lamp while upside down then place your mold on it so you don’t have to hold it
Most glass blocks uv. That's why you don't get a tan through your home windows
I've wondered several times if uv n regular resin could b used together
How many watts is the lamp?
I have used both together, you can get some weird results 😂 I'm not sure on the wattage, sorry Mandi
Do you heat up the resin to avoid bubbles? I was using UV resin and found bubbles appeared when using the UV on it.
