    You are 1000% right. Follow your instincts with E. He’ll never ever let you down. Loving You, Viva Las Vegas, Jailhouse Rock, Girls Girls Girls, GI Blues, Blue Hawaii, Wild In the Country, Flaming Star, all great. Even try Stay Away Joe, Follow that Dream are really funny movies too. Love your reactions

    Walter Matthau was a famous actor whom Elvis asked for acting advice. Matthau, who played the Mobster Boss, said later he told Elvis, you don’t need any advice, you are a natural born actor with great confidence who became an even better and more famous actor in his later yrs and starred in some very popular movies. Tom Hanks wasn’t born yet, Elvis 2nd, 3rd and this his 4th movie were good. It was most of his post Army movies, that Tom Parker wanted him cleaned up and made deals for quick production and repetitive plots, to make a quick buck. He falsely kept promising Elvis better plots, which depressed Elvis by the mid 60s. It’s sad, because Elvis wanted to be a great actor, more than anything. He was a natural at singing, dancing and acting which is amazing considering he grew up so poor, and had no training at all. That is the most amazing thing about the phnom known as Elvis.

    I'm 36 years old, love elvis since I was 4 and I would know the lyrics to his songs. I remember looks to me was irrelevant when I was young but there was always something that made me adore him for his talent and presence.. I don't think you can compare this man to anyone as he was so unique. Have you seen elvis and the black community part 1/2 that's definitely a watch. He was definitely one of the best artist of all time. In the UK he was voted artist of the 20th century...to this day no other singer has sold more than elvis worldwide

    I heard the same interview with Tom Hanks and it irritated me to. Elvis was a Really Good Actor and he did a mix of Serious Movies that he sang in and Light Hearted Musical Comedies, most were Entertaining a few were Kind of Corny, but that wasn't Elvis's fault, the Colonel Contracted Elvis to do whatever Movies the Studio's gave him. Elvis more than anything wanted to be given Great Dramatic Rolls where he could really show everybody what he could do. In 1975 Elvis was Offered "A Star is Born" opposite Barbara Streisand but as usual the Colonel blew up the deal, and Elvis Died 2 years Later. I always Wonder if he had done the Movie would he still be alive, it might have changed everything.

    Elvis’s first movie was Love me tender in 1956. This movie was his last movie before going into the Army in 1958. He didn’t make another movie until he came back in 1960.

    I would suggest watching all his movies in order and you’ll see what Tom Hanks is referring to after the first several movies. Even Elvis ain’t wanna do a lot of the movies he did, but he was bound by contract.

    Tom hanks said his first 4 movies were great but then he did 3 dramatic res with 1 or 2 songs and they didn't make money . Then blue hawaii came along 14 songs and girls and it made money . So he meant lots of elvis movies followed a formular after 62 . As an actor he was very good but he never got a chance . That's what Tom meant

    Another great reaction. I've heard some comments by Tom Hanks that were irritating, however, for the most, he wasn't knocking Elvis's potential to be a great actor, he just stated the unfortunate fact that Elvis only got to do a handful of good movies of a dramatic nature, that didn't have any/many songs in them because they didn't do as well financially as his lightweight musical travelogues.... fans apparently wanted to hear Elvis sing in all his movies, and Parker and the studios were happy with that formula as they kept making a profit.

    • @LM-hb6yn
      @LM-hb6yn Год назад +1

      They also didn't have to pay established song writers for good songs in those travelogs. If you'll notice the quality of the songs plummeted after the first 5 or 6 movies he made. Made those travelogs even more profitable for them and the Colonel. No need for good scripts, cast or songs cause all the fans wanted was to see Elvis on the big screen and hear him sing. The Colonel knew Elvis didn't want to do them but all he cared about was money. It's too bad Elvis didn't get rid of Parker before he signed him into years of increasingly bad movies.

      And vic morrow was killed.... beheaded by a helicopter in a movie scene ( the helicopter crashed) it was real and they kept it in the movie. Unfortunately two kids on that scene was also killed. I believe that was the twilight zone movie, the Vietnam short story.

    Think Tom meant all the movies in the middle sixties that were all girls and song. Even Elvis got tired of them. Studio made tons of money from Elvis movies and used it to find the other big movies for others. Listen to Elvis in his own word video. He tells you in his own words how he felt
