    Any sympathy I had for Lucien ended on Hero Hill when he said 'Of course you were only a child. But, then, so was I.' Indicating that compassion for others is childish and weak was the final tipping point.

      @@liamellison9806 I'd argue he died the moment he killed and tried to kill, respectively, Rose and the player.

      He was a victim but he was also headed down a dark path. Without the seer he wouldn't have killed Rose and tried to kill Sparrow, Hammer's dad wouldn't have been shot with Garth wouldn't have been imprisoned in the spire. Everyone but Reaver (because he was looped in at the end) wouldn't have had trauma. But, he could've gone down a path of his own sort of insanity without the seer's influence. It's a gray area, and because that I often just let Reaver kill him at the end because my Sparrow wants to know why all of this had to happen. And then learning that it was partially to bring back his family, Sparrow can't find the strength to shoot or zap or slice. Because they wanted revenge, but they also wished every day that they could've saved Rose and then they lost their dog to the same monster. Fresh grief.
      I add narrative as I play because I'm a writer and the MC is a blank slate in one and two. But in two it can be inferred that they want revenge. I just add layers in my head.

    Lucian was a great antagonist. But there was no boss battle, even something he was just controlling. I’m fine with that ending where we just kill him with one shot, I think it’s a mixture of funny and poetic. I just wish we had a big battle prior to that.

    I remember thinking the “boss fight” against Lucien was always a bit lackluster but looking back at it now, I definitely appreciate the story aspect of it more

    • @lukesanderson5343
      @lukesanderson5343 3 года назад

      I wonder what would have happened if Lucien won as remember all he really wanted to do was recreate the world in a pure way so therefore wouldn’t that be the kingdom that everybody wanted with no evil etc? And no death.

    • @lukesanderson5343
      @lukesanderson5343 3 года назад

      I also wonder if Lucien reshaping the world may have stopped The Crawler as after all that’s why Theresa started her mission for hundreds of years and gaining an understanding way before learning that Logan and The Hero Of Brightwall would be the only defence in the industrial era. Unless it’s like a back to the future concept and some actions and consequences had to happen as it was part of time. Theresa explains to the hero that his/her sister had to die meaning it was a course of time and Theresa knew that Rose was going to die hence why she told them to buy the music box, Theresa likely also knew that the hero would be killed once more by Lucien as she seems to disappear at the right moment just as Lucien captures the 4 hero’s on Hero hill. Fable 3 is a similar thing. Theresa again also knew that Logan wouldn’t have been on the throne on the final few years of preparation for the darkness so she knew full well that The Hero Of Brightwall would be the one to save the kingdom and again twisted her words to suit the narrative. Both occasions on the story in Fable 2 and Fable 3 she fails to tell you the actual reason for a revolution. The part of the story that I liked was how Theresa manipulated Logan’s ‘This is my Albion’ speech and making it sound like he had gone ‘mad’ when really Logan’s speech that day was him preparing to make the difficult decisions to fill his treasury. If Theresa told the stories without manipulating them and maybe sugar coating some visions she has she should have just spoke every detail. Although many would argue that if Theresa told the hero’s on Fable 2 and Fable 3 what was going to happen they likely wouldn’t have believed her which may also explain why Logan kept the secret to himself and never admits that he’s trying to save the kingdom until he knows his brothers ready to hear the truth and everybody else now he had the audience. If Logan told everybody immediately they may have branded him a mad man and therefore not fit for the throne so perhaps they may have had him removed from office for that and imprisoned so maybe that’s another reason why Logan kept his plans to himself hence the speech on the music box.

    • @lukesanderson5343
      @lukesanderson5343 3 года назад

      And maybe in another Back To The Future part Theresa couldn’t simply have The Crawler stopped under Lucien reshaping the world as that would mean Albion wouldn’t have a hero on its throne as if there’s no crawler it would mean that Logan would sit on the throne until his death and that the hero of Brightwall would never become a hero as Walter in the end would never take him away from the castle as with no crawler means no evil Logan so Logan goes to Aurora and all goes well and he makes allies for his cause and the kingdom continues to build under Logan’s rule and when the hero of Brightwall finally sits on the throne he’s just about dead anyway. My theory is that Theresa wants hero’s to rule the world as she knows she can control them and knows that they will listen to her due to her powers similar to what the hero can have and I think that makes complete sense as if Albion never has hero’s again due to the prince now becoming one who would save the citizens of Albion from other quests eg the bandits etc as remember The Royal Albion Army were never armed enough to take down a full force of bandits like that and there jobs mostly consisted of patrolling large settlements. Missions like that would usually be left to a hero but how would them missions be completed without a hero unless under Logan’s more normal rein he has a big Albion Army built of Elites and has them trained for the battlefield to fight bandits etc and to build forts in major enemy territory?

    • @lukesanderson5343
      @lukesanderson5343 3 года назад

      And also if Lucien ended up winning there wouldn’t even be a hero of Brightwall or a Logan as the hero of Bower Lake would have been killed by Lucien in the final battle. Then the heroic blood would surely be stopped forever and lost in time?

    The story line of Fable 2 is more complex and fleshed our than Fable 1’s, but the gameplay mechanics and overall feel of moving your character/attacking in Fable 1 are, in my opinion, some of the best in the gaming industry. Very simple and quick. I felt like I was pushing the character’s actions, where as in the latter Fable games, it feels more like you’re pulling the character. Fable 2 is the least linear game. I think you have the widest area to explore. Fable 3 was very claustrophobic, even compared to OG Fable.

The stairs did exist in the beginning though. Qhen you buy the castle, you are no longer escorted and the game isn't so much of an intro, it's final, so, it's yours to explore the places you were curious about at the beginning. Looking at the dining room rose asked about, the throne room, the library, the bedroom, the tomb... and place your sister was murdered... the study, almost the exact same... but he repaired the window

      The Spire increased her abilities. As she said in the DLC, she always followed the whispers of the future blindly, but the Spire gave her the power to see further. She used the Spire to see all possible futures that would befall Albion, which allowed her to manipulate events to Albion's ultimate benefit.
      She knew that a future with the Hero of Bowerstone as King/Queen of Albion was the best outcome, which led to Albion becoming a unified and stronger nation.

      I still feel like Theresa was a pawn of the crawlers dimension, throughout all albions history it has always been plagued by the evil that the crawlers dimension seemed to have seeped into albion little by little, and if Theresa was so smart she should have known that the spire would be a beacon for that evil, i guess maybe she figured that out and thats why she needed it to lure the crawler to destroy it because then maybe the evil from the world would stop seeping in all together, but Gabriel became basically the new Theresa so is it all over or is there still more like the crawler to come??? Did the spire show her what she needed to see or what it wanted her to see. Maybe albion needs a seer to keep the region going but albion is always rising and collapsing, so was destroying the crawler pointless??? I feel like im rambling sorry😬 i hope im not confusing.

      @@ayamehirada9968 Not rambling at all. And your right that Theresa figured out the Spire's connection to the Crawler. It was after she gained the Spire's power that she sensed the Crawler's reawakening in Aurora. Lucien reactivating the Spire and the Hero of Bowerstone making a wish acted as a kind of siren song that woke the Crawler from its dormant state. Theresa realized this immediately and set in motion the events that would lead to the Crawler's destruction.

    Besides dying in one hit with no boss battle beside he was a pretty bad copy and paste villain. Barely see him outside his journal and nothing in the story really built up hype on him besides the beginning. Commadant was far more interesting besides finding out some plotholes about him. They should have just combined him and lucien to create an epic villain and had him kill more people you valued in the story to build up hype.

    Shortened story of lore of lucien. He was the worst video game antagonist or boss ever thought of. The end.

      He was no Jack of Blades, but he was okay. They just didn't do enough with Lucien in Fable 2.
