@@redrojo22911 German did not like running from the beginning he like other sports like Soccer, football,basketball he got Injured his Sophomore year cheap shot by his opponent when he jump in air came down wrong playing basketball 🏀 for RBK high school after he won state cross country he injured his knee he need knee surgery Repair some ligaments on his knee So his junior year he didn’t run much Until the state meet And he took second at the state meet returning from the knee surgery came back his senior year he took running serious 🧐 He was all Around athletes!!

Historically, we've had many state champs not break 9. I had to look up an example: 1991 to 2002 only 4 guys total got under 9, including Meb and Ryan Hall. It's not that there has been a general improvement. Back in 1975 had two guys fighting it out at 8:45, for a full 2 miles.
