It's for safety, and it does not erase anything on the stock stereo, it just resets the clock. There have been rare cases where tools fell onto the contacts in the fuse box and short circuited them. It's very rare but if somebody is not careful, it can happen, so that's why I added that. Thanks for the comment!

Great video. Why disconnect the battery? That will erase all the radio stations and other stuff. Seems unnecessary.
