I keep on hearing on the internet that black people don’t know how to swim, but I saw black kids at the swimming pool which I enjoyed. So glad that black people take swimming seriously because the sport can cause longer life
When I grew up in 60s we had a park next door with only a,wading pool .My sister and I would go around with a can to try and collect funds to build a Real swimming pool When I left home and came back plans,were set in place to build A Municipal Size pool in the Park. My children had swimming lessons there
@@Vakator-29 I don't think you understand how basic biology works. There is no physical thing holding them back from swimming. The only reason many can't swim well is because many haven't gotten lessons or very little experience.
There is already a movie about a all black swim team it's call pride came out in 2007 stars Terrence Howard and Bernie mac based on a true story good movie look it up

Congratulations Howard University Swim Team!! My son is 12 yrs old 7th grader with aspirations of competing and winning multiple gold medals in the Olympics! He works very hard!! We are looking at Howard as a possibility for his College level swimming!!
This college seems to have a very good swim program, but I'm not sure if it would stack up for post college training. It depends what college, but many allow swimmers to train with them after college for the Olympics, so I would research if this one does. I'd personally go for Cal (if your son has really good grades in HS) or Florida if I were to strive for an Olympic career. Both have trained the most Olympians and have amazing facilities. It also depends what stroke your son specializes in. This college seems to be big in the breaststroke field. Just a thought.

I love this so much. I will never know what it's like to live as a black man in a white man's world, but I can watch in awe as young people like these flip the script and proves that racism has no place in (American) society
Excuse me Folks, but why should anyone wonder that there is an All Black Swimm Team, Gymnastic Team, Tennis Team or any other Sport? Color is not the determination. TALENT, diligence, disciplin is what you need. Color is completely unrelated to Determination. GO for it.
It was unfortunate the history of our country didn't allow people of color to swim or compete with whites so blacks were not doing it. Just like Gymnastics, golf and polo. The money to be able to participate and have access to pool, clubs, horses, clubs have always not been available. However, if you ALLOW all to compete and give same opportunity, the best will win, which is happening for the first time. Blacks now have an opportunity to shine at an environment without the hatred, prejudice, isolation and look at them..they Shine! Blacks can do well in anything if the playing field and prejudice removed. Congratulations #HU
