One of the most hauntingly beautiful songs I have ever heard. Even in 2023, this song sends chills through my body. The power of music! I just couldn't live without it and this song....wow
Absolutely!!! Exceptional talent, very little show -- a true artist! Very honest in her music as well. Once she moved on from her early pop star years, she is as real as it gets. No singer/songwriter has ever come close to affecting me the way she does. She has surpassed the Beatles as my favorite musician, and I never thought that would happen. EDIT: She does have some show, but her fame and success are based totally on her talent and genius.
I'm pretty sure people were saying the same thing about various artists from the very beginning. My step-grandfather was a jazz musician and taught music in public school for 30 years. 20-some-odd years ago we were complaining about the lack of good musicians "these days" and I was surprised to hear him say it all started with the Beatles, they destroyed music as we know it today.
I have been lucky enough to see her perform this live. I've also seen a lot of live music, probably over 40 years, but nothing, and I really mean nothing can prepare you for this. Thank you Alanis ❤
Saw her three months ago in lawn seats. So blown away that I bought pavilion seats the next day. I just knew I liked some songs off of Jagged Little Pill. Then she sang this one. Stunned by its depth and simplicity.
At 1:50 her voice just becomes haunting, then at 2:30 that guitar starts & just sends it to another planet. Most underated song she put out...best song she put out
It's certainly probably in my top two or three favorites (along with Joining You and That I Would Be Good). I never can make up my mind on a single favorite. I love them all.
This song, especially when performed by Alanis, is very dramatic and powerful. If I had to name one favorite Alanis MOrissette song, this one would probably be it.
Amazing to hear a human who needs no auto tune, no computer to make her sound so damn good. I miss these days and glad we still have her and some more ppl who have real talent. In another 50 years it'll all be robots singing perfectly in key, time and no emotion. This is real music talent kids. We had this back in the day. Ppl sang anywhere anytime with no real help but a live mic.
my god…how she writes lyrics that are so haunting and that voice. it’s everything every woman wants to say…and I’m an old school metal head myself, but this…what a talented musician and artist. she humbled me and still gives me chills. thank you, alanis.
She wrote these lyrics because they are about the sexual abuse she suffered as a child. A sexual relationship was allowed and encouraged between a 14 yr old Alanis and a 30 something yr old man. These aren't just lyrics, these words are her pain, betrayal, torment and violation.
They know who she is are u serious lol!? 😂🤯 She has a new album out, she has a tour planned ( tho dates have been rescheduled due to covid) she performed with Taylor Swift ( i was honestly pretty impressed and grateful that younger generations can see just how incredible she is) and i grew up with Alanis Morissette this song got me through some pretty difficult times growing up..i bought jagged little pill and watched her on 'you cant do that on television' and 'hey dude' so i can say we STILL have some pretty amusing music now, u just dont know where to look! 🤷♀️
Yeah, every generation thinks that about the new… pop will be pop but every generation has its artists and style… we don’t make classical music like that anymore either(unless it’s for soundtracks) but I still appreciate everything. Like legit. All of it. Give me the last 400 years love it! Hahaha
It's so nice to see the crowd living in the moment and enjoying the music, instead of pratting around filming it on a phone, and it's so sad that crowds will never be like this again 😢
That song, the words, the melody and the vocals are from the heart and is eerily haunting. It is a masterpiece… and I’ve seen Floyd, AC/DC,RUSH The Stones and Prince.

This is hands down..one of the most amaZing songs ever written and sung...NO one can touch the way Alanis sings. Her rhythm, timing, and power are Insanely appealing..right NOW in May 2022!
One of the most favourite song of all time.. I was 17 years old that time... Now I'm 39 and still amaze with this song... And Alanis is the only one of morissette, there is no one can replace her in my heart.
One of my faves. Music is literally my alcohol and cigarettes. I can't put into words what music means to me and it feels like Alanis is an angel sent to sing to our souls. Her voice is phenomenal. Xx
@@SakinahIman You have no idea how much I needed to hear something positive today. For it to be from your reply to a comment I wrote nearly 6 months ago when I was in a more positive place makes your well thought out words and succinctly expressed emotions a treasure to me. Thank you.

One of the absolute best lives. It’s so incredibly hard to master such a clean sound. Complex in its simplicity, pure, transmitting, perfect. Gosh I love her.
Everything about that live performance was perfection! Including the audience!Thank God it was captured for future generations to witness how rock-n-roll is done right!
Wow, so raw and passionate. This is how you own a crowd; with outstanding musicians, beautifully structured melody and intelligent lyrics. Let's hope that song writing like this doesn't fade away.
Legendary performance by someone that doesn’t get the cred she well earned back in the day. Her unplugged concert is one of the greatest of them all but never gets mentioned
A lot of people are saying this is the friend zone song. No...just no. This song seriously goes way deeper than that. If you pay close attention you can feel the intense emotion behind the lyrics. This song is powerful af.
Actually, this song is about the sexual abuse she suffered as a young girl. A 14 yr old Alanis and a 30 something yr old man, the sexual abuse was allowed and encouraged by those around her, those who should have protected her. I'm amazed that in 2022, with Google at our fingertips, how people can still be re-tarded and oblivious to the world. A friend zone song, ffs smh.
with no orchestra, but still haunting as the recording version... and what amazed me, no sing along fans.. just cheering to the max... they really "respect" this song...
This is way better than the album version. The heavy tone to this performance fits the song so much better. Blair is beating the drums like a hillbilly beats his wife, and Dave is causing eargasms with that wicked solo.
This woman is a combination of Carly Simon, Janis Joplin, pink Floyd, grunge rock . She incorporated a sound most try to imitate on these singing shows. An innovator for sure. you bad Ass you!
I LOVE that she’s a true ARTIST and not fame hungry with a million endorsement deals and guest spots on every other show- she’s about her craft! She’s amazing! I miss 90s music!
This is my first time hearing this song! I feel robbed but also so blessed to finally hear it!! She is just amazing! The sheer raw emotion this woman offers us in her music is magical!!! WOW.
I was given a cassette tape Jagged Little Pill. When I was 14. 25 years ago. I never did listen to it really. I drove truck in my 20s wore the tape out. She is beautiful. Les not forget her voice still gives me goosebumps. 😘
I honestly think Uninvited is a masterpiece.

Never fades...still applies now 2023...🎉
I'm 70, I was there. It was so good, magical.
My great granddaughter did a solo dance recital in front of the whole school. I was so proud of her and this is one of my favorite songs.
No phone ... no photo ...no flashlight...just you and Alanis ....🙂

Alanis. More talent in her left pinky finger than all of the female "artists" out there today.

Yeah she’s a cool human with lots of soul and no shame in letting it shine
I love that when she performs, it is like the song possesses her from her voice to her body. It's primal.
