In an interview with Taylor Hawkins, he states that he was given the opportunity to audition and after 3 months had passed, he received a call and of course the job as drummer with the band. In addition, he mentions that Alanis opened the door for him to succeed and let loose with his drummer skills. After the world tour was over, Grohl approached him and the rest is history. Interesting he also mentions, 'If it wasn't for Morissette, I would still be a pizza delivery driver".

I was fortunate enough to see Alanis, Sheryl Crow, and Fiona Apple on Oahu HI in the span of 2 years 1997-1999. Amazing young women, and amazing for a young woman to witness. Serious talent! And made a serious impression on myself and my friends.. not to mention the awesome men who were there beside all the way. LOVE

I looked this up live just because i didn't think she could possibly sing exactly like she does in the studio, and i just got punched in the face really hard by a beautiful sounding fist.

Things have certainly changed. Back then you actually had to posses atleast a DECENT singing voice that sounded pretty good live to even get signed to a major record label.

Definitely, this was her in her prime. The aggression, passion, emotion, raw emotion, it's all there. I love it when artists sound as good live as they do in the studio, and she carries it all across with so much energy. I can feel it just watching

Yo brother! Do yourself a favor! Go to Rick Beato. Best channel for music geeks EVER. ANYway, he breaks down the parts and shows why this is such a great tune. Also...having Navaro, Flea & Hawkins on the recording session didn't hurt LOL!

I was 19 at this time frame in college. Had a guitar and bass at the time. Distortion amp and tube amp. No cell phones no internet. The last college degree earned without internet. We had these songs, the grunge, the funk and the thrash. God dam honor to be alive at this time frame and playing this.

never in my life have I ever loved anyone's music like this gritty, raw , sexually charged rocker, I'd pay $5000 to see her in concert, no one can compare to her , not lady gag gag , Madonna, Christina Aguilera, Beyonce, pink, nobody, the only male rocker is Steven Tyler, their equals, in the rock world, I'm just blown away by her, I have so much respect, love, admiration, I'm a loyal fan for life to her an Steven Tyler.

OMG! She is so great at this performance!! She's channeling Ozzy in this - or what Ozzy channels. It's raw.
And she channels it at every event - I bet - which is pretty professional - - but painful too... I finally found, Alanis.
I mean I have never really considered her. Honestly, I like LIKE some of her songs and this one I've heard many times - BUT seeing her perform it BLOWS MY IMAGE OF HER - all to hell. This is a true artist baring her soul. She has my respect. I am humbled by her grace and craft and honesty. I rest.

Pure artistic virtuosity! When a song elicits a strong emotionall reaction like this song does, like a Van Gogh painting does i call it emotional virtuosity.
