When I first saw this my complaints were that it was too long and there's no real plot, just a series of events. And then I thought about it for a while and I realized I'm okay with that.
There were definitely some scenes early in the flick that could have been tightened up and reduced the running time by 20 or 30 minutes, but for the most part I just sat back and howled at all the crazy shit on screen.
Knew I was subbed to you for a reason the moment you praised day of the dead, a man of taste. I work for regal cinemas as my part time second job for free movies and always do a Halloween double feature; this year I caught dawn of the dead ‘78 3D and terrifier 2 and was ABSOLUTELY spoiled with practical gore for those 4 hours and your comparison to the romero/savini effects of old with terrifier 2 is spot on. Some of the best practical gore I’ve seen in decades which makes it even more impressive considering the budget.
I am so excited to see this in the past me and a few friends had our fingers on the pulse of horror we slowly slipped away from it and missed out on the first Terrifier and I caught on to its cult standing some time later through the socials and was immensely pleased by the character of Art the clown I felt he was up there with the Freddy's and the Jason's and was ready for more it took its time but I'm glad its finally happened and its doing well like you say hopefully it leads the creators to more movies bigger budgets and give us horror freaks what we've been missing.
Wasn't big on the first Terrifier, but I dug the sequel. Made the most of its tiny budget, had a great lead performance, & sold me on Art the Clown as a proper slasher despite me not being that impressed with him in the first film. Didn't think it was the best horror film of the year though. Crimes of the Future, Moloch, & Resurrection battle it out for that spot.
I need to hunt down Moloch. I received a press screener and then totally forgot to watch it. I loved Crimes of the Future as well but that deserves its own classification of transcendent sci-fi erotica or something along those lines, lol.
Damn, you've got the most entertaining movie reviews out on the interemwebs. Thanks! (And BTW, I may have done a lot of lines of coke in my youth but never off a strippers ass. Now, at 59 years old, I suddenly feel I haven't quite lived a full life, damn you! 🤣)
I started watching the one directed by Panos Cosmatos but got distracted. I need to get back on it. Which of the segments were the strongest in your opinion?
@@geekinwithJamesHancock I pretty much loved every one except the outside. That was the weakest for me. Autopsy, lot 36 and viewing are amazing. 👍 Murmuring is beautifully shot and made the hair on the back of my neck stand up
I'd love to see more indie producers taking big swing like this in other classic forms of exploitation like biker flicks, women in prison movies, and so on and so forth.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock just another fan !thanks!just love the way you review art. You're never mean, or rude. It's never personal, or it's never review that way, and in this time that a bit refreshing.
I spoiled the bedroom scene for myself after all the hype and I found it so OTT that it became like black comedy for me, like if Garth Ennis wrote and produced a slasher movie
Garth Ennis is the perfect comparison. I imagine this flick would put a big devilish smile on his face. Damien Leone would be the perfect director to adapt 'Crossed'.
I didn't even know this movie came out in the movie theaters, the first two didn't. The one I saw I streamed off of v u d u. But I'm glad it's doing good I didn't like this one as much as I liked the other two but hopefully we'll get a fourth one out of it and he can correct some wrongs that were in this one.
Art the clown is the best bogeyman created this century...great acting , great makeup , loved it...
Omg I just watched it last night and I can't believe it is better than I expected it to be!
It seriously delivers. Knocked all the other horror films from this year right out of my brain.
Best movie of 2022 easily.

Damien Leone has already said a few years back he wants terrifier to be a trilogy.

I love seeing a brand new franchise that isn't some half-assed PG-13 remake of a beloved character.
@@geekinwithJamesHancock yeah man
Just discovered your channel, your reviews are amazing. Easy sub. Glad someone else feels the same way I do about Blumhouse haha.

The lead actress is amazing, unfortunately same Thing was said about Sharni Vensin in You're Next, she' hasn't done much as far as I Know
Hopefully Lauren LaVera will line up some great gigs on the back of this flick. Her costume is going to become a sensation for cosplayers.
Wow! I hope we get a pallete cleanser after this one to see something different from this talented film maker. Thanks!
Barbarian was so hyped & to me it was so predictable & boring. Terrifyer 2 blows the competition away. Art the clown & pale girl are total badasses
Has anyone checked out Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities? I saw an episode is directed by Panos Cosmotos. Is it any good?
Score in this reminded of beyond black rainbow's.
Yea crazy film man
Btw have you seen Guillermo Del Toro’s cabinet of curiosities?

It's rare to get a wildfire organic success like this these days -- but if you are going to see something like this, it's gonna be a horror film.
I'd love to see more indie producers taking big swing like this in other classic forms of exploitation like biker flicks, women in prison movies, and so on and so forth.
it not my kind of movie ,anymore , but love the review
Much obliged for sticking with me in spite of this kind of thing not necessarily being your cup of tea!

David Howard Thornton is great but Mike Giannelli is going to always be my favorite Art The Clown.

Hell Yeah!! Metal
Didn't care for either film, the violence was cartoonishly laughable. What did you think of Pearl?
I thought 'X' was the stronger of the two due to all the erotic ingredients, but I'll definitely be back for the third film in the trilogy.
Where can I watch it?
loved this movie!!!
So did I. I'm thrilled to see it finding such a rabid fan base.
Yeh I agree and the most memorable movie this century ..

not for me either, its not scary. Its just how much gore can you take, but great review
Yeah, I wasn't remotely scared either but I loved the sheer audacity of the gore on display.
I didn't really enjoy much about this film besides David Howard Thornton's performance. I thought it was definitely way too long.
Yeah it was full on cheesey horror
Smile & Prey for the Devil.
