Watched Terrifier 3 last night at 10pm and my theater was pack.
I saw it here in Portland Friday night. Had to reserve tickets because the theater was filling up so fast it was the only way to guarantee you'd get to see it. It was packd here as well.
@@nihilismistheonlyway4680 Love it
😂 i watched a matinee showing and there were way more ppl in the theater than expected lol
I watched the Apprentice and was the only person in the entire movie theater. I wouldn't want to be the only person alone in Terrifier though lol
Saw it today and only two people in my theater. Maybe more will come this weekend.
What a time to be alive. Witnessing Terrifier 3 beat out Joker and others to become #1 at the box office.
Terrifier rocks
1981 is usually thought of as the best year in horror.
An American Werewolf in London.
The Beyond
The Burning
Cannibal Ferox
The Evil Dead
Friday the 13th 2
The Funhouse
Halloween 2
Hell Night
The Howling
The Prowler
My Bloody Valentine
Damien and staff deserve what they're getting and Todd deserves what he's getting. Outstanding content and consistency on this channel, btw.
You're God Damn Right!NUFF SAID.
The way he says Folie a Deux is hilarious 🤣🤣🤣
This is why you need a memorable movie title and not French that is hard to pronounce, you're not making a valley dance movie or movie about French.
Joker didn’t have to be this way. They didn’t read the room in a baffling way. Yay Terrifier!!!! 🤡
This could be a GAME CHANGER for independent 📽 like the 90's!
2025 📽 is going to be interesting😎
I watched it on the 11th in the evening, in a small city that was just affected by two hurricanes in 10 days, and that theater was still pretty full!
My Terrifier 3 showing Thursday night was packed which is kind of rare these days. It was so damn fun
Sounds like there is a new Clown Prince of Crime in town.
If they were taking story ideas from some actor's dreams when there were plenty of talented writers out there begging for a chance, then they deserve what they got.
I'm into this news. Absolutely a great year for horror. So happy for Leone. Thanks, man!
The best year for horror, in my opinion, was 1979. It gave us Phantasm (my personal favorite), The Amityville Horror, Herzog's Nosferatu, and more.
Dope stuff as always James! We need to get you into the Gundam franchise
I admire Damiens rise. I have been with art since all hallows eve anthology. I hope he never sells out. He has potential to do great (horror) things!
Terrifier 3 is a beautiful movie for the whole family.
It’s not “final” numbers. Just studio estimates. While it rarely changes very much… the actual final numbers will be out later tomorrow.
As great as Terrifer 3 is,Substance still my favorite horror, sci fi film this yr.Demi Moore will get a Golden Globe Nomination. The Gods Have Spoken.
Hilarious. Thanks James. Fingers crossed the prudes have left and unrated fun is back on the menu.
As a life time horror fan of 30 + years, this weekend was absolutely epic, especially crushing one of the worst sequels of all time. So glorious!
This is great news! I watched part 2 lastnight and it honestly isn’t my thing, but kudos for such a punk rock film todo so well and as James says the industry desperately needed a kick up the a£&!
1981 is propably my favourite year of horrorfilms. Not many classics, but lots of cult horrorfilms: An American Werewolf in London; The Beyond; Burial Ground (Le Notti del terrore); Butcher, Baker, Nightmare Maker; Dark Night of the Scarecrow; Demonoid; The Evil Dead; Friday the 13th Part 2; Happy Birthday to Me; The House by the Cemetery; The Howling; Just Before Dawn; Ms .45; My Bloody Valentine; Possession; The Prowler; Scanners; Wolfen.
Happy to report the latest estimate was an underestimate. They are now saying it cleared 23.1 million. And that may still not be the final numbers.
18 Million?! Wow! That's fantastic!!!
Gunn might want to crack open that Brightburn box again....especially seeing how The Boys is ending soon
How I view it: Sell out vs Not a sell out. I feel if Damien would've given control of Terrifier, it would've been the same as Joker 2
I'm 47. Before I could rip DVDs, I would watch EVERY movie in the theater and on TV. I went to the theater for something as random and forgetable as Fried Green Tomatoes, and I rented every new release regardless of genre. But now that every movie is free, I only watch horror and superhero movies. I don't see theaters ever going back to what they were. Genie is out of the bottle. Same as how it went with opera, ballet, and then plays: Nobody wants to sit in a theater where they can't cough or check their phones.
As far as actors as celebrities or idols: this only began after moivies came along, and it will probably end soon. Before that, composers and writers and painters were the celebrities and before that, royalty were the celebrities.
Lately, superhero movies have been telling the same old story: often the villain kidnaps the superhero's gf at the climax, or in Marvel, every time two characters meet they fight before they realize they are on the same side. I DO think that comic book movies will never be the phenomenom they once were, as we are desensitized to special effects and we have almost literally seen everything. I was crappy my pants in amazement at spider-man 4's climax when Harry and Peter fought Sandman and Venom because I had never seen anything that big before. Same with Endgame's climactic battle. Same with the three spider-men in far from home. but it has diminishing returns now.
The unique thing about horror is that the creator has total plot freedom because the audience really just wants some scares and an ATMOSPHERE. Give me a creepy looking mansion and a door that opens on its own, and I'm pretty satisifed.
Incidentally, before Joker, I was thinking you could make a deep artistic movie and masquerade it as a horror movie by just adding a horror element, like a ghost. And that is exactly what Philips did with Joker, but he masqueraded it as comics rather than horror.
In my opinion, Hollywood hasn't done the Joker right, yet... not as he is in the comics. Jack Nicholson was pretty good, and Heath is a great interpretation, but none of them have been THE Joker. The closest anyone has gotten is Batman: The Animated Series.
So excited about the success of Terrifier. I own the first two and recommend the commentaries for those interested in low budget horror.
LOVE to see 5 animated movies in the top 10!
Speaking of documentary's, do you plan on checking out the new Christopher Reeves movie? Heard it's great.
Keep it up good sir!
Very Happy for Damien Leones success, we sure do need more people like him, but for the love of god that man needs a script editor. After watching Terrifier 2, i just couldnt shake this feeling the director just had a massive crush on the Sienna actor Lauren LaVera, at the very least we know his type.
This Superman movie better be God tier , i can see Gunn planing the re shoots already, Todd Phillips made sure to poison the well before he left .
I would never watch this movie, it’s not for me. But I think it’s great it beat out Joker and all the other garbage out there. Sounds like they made a horrific, gory movie and that’s what the fans of that genre wanted. I liked the original Joker and was interested in a sequel…..but after I saw the boring trailer, heard the reviews, and even the stupid name, plus it’s a musical or something??? I lost interest. Make good movies for the genre it fits in.
definitely getting terrifier 4
James, who do you think is the best Christmas horror movie: Terrifier 3 or Silent Night, Deadly Night?
Razzy for worse picture:
Joker follie á deux
Megalopolis
Borderlands
The Crow
Madame Web
LOVE ur WWE/WWF Attitude Era comparison!❤
I said most superhero movies should appeal to adults. Except Superman and maybe Spider-Man
Hi James, not the final tally though...the final numbers with confirmed Sunday sales will come tomorrow/Monday and it is widely expected that Joker 2 will be sub-$7 million for the weekend with a 82-83% drop. Rival studios are already stating as much. I would guess WB over-stated by putting Joker 2 higher than their own Beetlejuice 2 to save some small level of embarassment
Empire of the Vampire is EPIC!! The sequel is on par with it too. My favorite new series. 😃
Saw it as a matinee. Great film, just insanely brutal.
Indie rules
Nothing to do with superhero movies, everything to do with bad movies.
The first Joker was toilet water. At least he tried something different with the second one but I’m probably never going to see it. What’s the point?
Horror best years-1982, 1989, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2002, 2006, 2008, 2012
The joker meets lady gaga in a singalong movie. Nope. Ain't for me and never will be. No wonder it's nose diving at the box office.
I really want to see Heretic
Thanks James!
Forget about Joker 2.
I was always ok with an mcu reset creatively after endgame. Start from the bottom narratively and then slowly build momentum over time focusing on quality like hbo does. But these stupid Hollywood executives will always wreck a good thing because "more is better so lets flood the market with content who cares if its garbage " type thinking. I do think these movies can make a comeback because Hollywood has yet find an alternative that can reliably get the public out to the theaters. There are still hundreds of great stories to exploit from the comics if they chose to look there first. I think Gunn will do better than most if he avoids some of his weird tendencies.
1982 💀📽🎙
Told u James.....great book....
Clown on Clown violence.
Not interested in seeing either clown movie. Terrifier isn't horror. It's gorror. But I am interested in the Saturday Night Live movie. The first 4 or 5 seasons of SNL were so damn funny and remind me of much better times. Glad to see Beetlejuice hanging on. I finally got a chance to see it and I really liked it. Not perfect, but incredibly entertaining and funny. They should have cut Justin Throux out of the film. He was useless and slowed the movie down. I hope they're working on Beetlejuice 3!
Pharrell is a great musician and I liked the movie
Love Terrifer 3,Lauren L.Is a great final girl.
Can you stop pronouncing Folie à deux in that way? It was OK the two first times but as a French I am beginning to find it very offensive
You have to know that Folie à deux is an expression for bipolaroty disorders, that is probably the reason of the title
Omg this video was fire lol. So true about Reictman, nepotism baby has no game.
It isn't about it being a "superhero" movie... it is about being a BAD super hero movie. Characters no one wants, setting up a poor Spiderman only to bring back the alternate universe thing -- again. We won't tolerate bad movies. It is almost like the studios are trying to put theaters out of business because streaming is cheaper for them.
What are you bringing up Spider-Man for? Every recent Spider-Man film has been loved by audiences & critics & they all made tons of money, that’s an example of good superhero movies that people show up for
My friend walked out of terrifier Friday. She knew better 🤦🏻♀️
What other movies did she walk out of? I could use some recommendations 😂
Anyone who walks out probably didn't know what they were in for. Me and my wife laughed pretty good at many parts of this movie.
@@py16667 She usually doesn’t watch horror and had the nerve to go see Terrifier 😆
I hope they kept her ticket money.
@@unpopularopinion1776 she didn’t lol
Just left terrifier 3. Im a huge fan of the series.
3 was not the step up that i expected ( for the increased budget and exposure. )
An unrated ultra violent movie, with a shower scene......and no real nudity? Come on now. Show me a titty already .
But.....at 630 on a Sunday: theater pretty full.
Terrifier 4 : double the budget ? $5 mill ? It will make it back in 1 day.
