I'm digging it; only thing that bugs me is there's no rimshot articulation, or snare edge for that matter. No rim click either, but I never play that anyway.
@@ArgonautDrumsI dont understand Matt Halpern is a drummer and they don’t add the features that a drummer needs. I was going to get this library but no rim on snare or Tom’s is a bit of a downer. My own opinion. Great playing
@@artsal yeah it's an odd choice, but I went back and checked the other GGD libraries I own and it's the same thing. My guess is their target demographic is non-drummers that want to add programmed drum tracks under their guitar.
Personally, I like the overall PV tone (especially the snare) better, has more crashes too. But PIV has more fx cymbals. Interface on each is similar. I haven't noticed a difference in velocity layers or round robins, but there's 2.6gb more space required for the PV instrument library, so I'm assuming there's more than in PIV.
One thing that gets me is the weird sounding ghost notes. But preset 1 straight away had decent sounding ones so that’s good. The demo clips GGD released have the weird sounding ghost notes.
Hard to describe how they sound but they dont sound like yours at all. Mine sound like with so much reverb and lots of echo room. I messed with mixer settings but doesn't seem to make it better. It's frustrating tho because right after watching your video it made me want to buy that pack immediately so I did ! But it was just instant disappointment.... snare , cymbals , crashes ,kick sound great just the freaking toms for reason sound terrible 😭
@@ivansantillan4571 very strange; are you running it in a DAW, are there FX assigned to your virtual instrument track? Maybe turn off/down all FX and room mics in GGD and then slowly bring them back up until it sounds the way you like. Worst case, maybe uninstall and reinstall just in case something got corrupted during download.
@ArgonautDrums yes I'm running it in a DAW im using Reaper. That's a good tip ! I'm definitely going to mess with thise settings, it didn't crossed my mind. I truly hope it works because trust me you motivated me to get that pack after watching you play and hearing that killer sound
I honestly have no idea if the fx are assigned to the virtual instrument or not , can you please tell me where to look for that? And also where are the room mics in ggd?
Nope, I didn't even touch the mic settings. Just running it from kontakt player, headphone out to my GoPro. The presets with "turbo" have GGD's processing/effects added, but they're still the default settings.
Hi! I converted real cymbals to electronic cymbals by dampening them and adding piezos and edge switches. I have a video on it if you're curious about the process. All reversible and non destructive, so people don't yell at me in the comments lol
I'm guessing the velocity curves aren't set proper huh. Is it me or do the kick sound kinda underwhelming? Edit : Listening to other reviews, your kick sounds really weird. Did you do something different?
Nah, in the description I mentioned not dialing in the velocity curves. Didn't do anything to the kick or any of the instruments, everything is default with zero tweaks.
That sounds like a great pack to me!

I think the rim shots are the hardest velocities opposed to it’s own articulation but this only helps bedroom guitarists programming
@@robertpaten ah that makes sense
Cymbal triggers, that's really cool!
Thanks man!
Sounds great! Any insights comparing p4 with p5?

Did the program sounded like that right of the batt or you did some adjustments?
@@ivansantillan4571 no adjustments, just whatever was default for each preset

I'm hoping I can dial in a velocity curve to make them feel better. I'm getting a lot of hot spotting too.
I got this pack but for some reason the toms sound so bad on my setup. Any idea why? Please help
Im using reaper with Alesis Dm10MKII pro
@@ivansantillan4571 what's up? Tough to say without knowing what you're hearing. Is it distorted?

I'm digging them. I think the 'tastefully processed' is my favorite, fits in well with alot of tunes I've jammed to🤘
Has the hi hat functionality through cc improved with this pack at all?
Nah It's the same setup as their other libraries, except now it's split out in two separate tabs for some reason.
